Fainting while pregnant

Common Questions and Answers about Fainting while pregnant

fainting

Avatar f tn Has anyone passed out while pregnant? I had a scare the other day at work. I'm 17 weeks pregnant and it's my first pregnancy. I went to the ER and they ran a bunch of tests and made sure the babies heart beat was ok. The conclusion was that I was dehydrated. Drinking more fluids especially water is so important during pregnancy. They said it's really important to listen to your body. If you need to rest than rest. Lesson learned.
4545793 tn?1394592544 I haven't fainted at all, I wouldn't worry about it, stay very hydrated and sit down if you feel dizzy, keep snacks on you like peanut butter cups or crackers and if you feel dizzy drink some water, eat a cracker and sit down, you'll be fine! :) Most women don't faint while pregnant but if you do it's not a huge deal.
Avatar f tn maybe low bp..
341190 tn?1295467125 Hi everyone, Last time i was on here was about 2 years ago, well so much has happened, firstly i was fitted with a loop recorder to try and find out what was happening when i fainted then my 17 year old daughter told me she was pregnant, shock wasent the word, i got used to the idea and was actually looking forward to it, she then found a lump in her breast when she was 8 months pregnant and had to go for a biopsy she obviously wanted mum with her so i dragged myself along, just as they were cut
Avatar f tn Is anyone else having problems feeling really dizzy or fainting? I passed out last week in the middle of cosco and almost again in Wal-Mart anyone else having or had this problem??
Avatar f tn I have always been prone to fainting due to being anemic so easily.. When I got pregnant it got worse and I fainted more.. I started taking iron capsules and pre natals with iron..
Avatar f tn are you pregnant or trying? fainting is something that i guess is common in early pregnancy. other than that i would say stay very hydrated and keep cool. hot weather can take a toll on ones body.
Avatar n tn what is fainting disease, my son has fell down while standing. He has fell down 4-5 times in last 18 months.while morning school prayer. some dark shadows comes in his eyes & immediately after that he fell down. after felldown he remain unconcious for 30-40 seconds only. Today I consulted with a Neuro Doctor Puneet Syal (MD- Medicine) He told that my son may have chances 95 % of Fainting or 5% chances of Epilepsy desease and he advised MRI, EEG, ECHO & ECG TESTS.
492921 tn?1321289896 I literally fell on the floor when I was about 2 or 3 months pregnant with my first son and it was from being dehydrated. I actually hit the floor though... twice. It was terrible but my baby was fine and besides the throwing up afterwords I was definitely fine too =) I hope that you feel better soon...
Avatar f tn I had horrible timing with my fainting spells last pregnancy. I was always really sick with morning sickness and once I passed out while on the stairs and fell down half of them. Woke up at the bottom of the stairs so confused. It's an unfortunate thing but also a bit normal. The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done.
Avatar f tn Youre blessed to not feel pregnant. I didnt even find out I was pregnant until 12 weeks! Just sut back relax and enjoy your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I fainted before I knew I was pregnant and turns out I was! I don't think it happens to a lot of people, but my doctor said I am fine and healthy.
Avatar f tn I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and since i was 12 weeks I have the tendancy to faint, i feel fine one minute and then the next im on the ground, but when i snap out of it i feel realllly energetic, its kinda weird. I asked my DOC about this and she said I need to get more snacks in during the day But I eat ALOT at least every 2 hours. I've heard this is normal through many pregnancies, but has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for anyone who can help.
Avatar f tn I would call your doctor , and make sure you are eating and drinking enough.
Avatar f tn So this isn't really a question. This morning I woke up to use the restroom. While I was wiping I noticed I was shaking and feeling light headed. My boyfriend was also in the restroom about to take a shower. He was talking to me and the room started spinning so I pulled my shorts up and told him I had to lie down. I made it to my bedroom door and blacked out. I woke up and few seconds later with my boyfriend and my son over me asking me what happened.
Avatar f tn So how do I control this when I'm having my c section?
10777943 tn?1412955415 I'm the same, I get terrible fainting spells during pregnancy. I know its not low blood pressure because I've had preeclamplsia through both pregnancies but interestingly my iron levels have been really low particularly this pregnancy. I had an iron infusion last week and haven't fainted since. Maybe get your iron checked?
126762 tn?1325261805 Wanting some opinions... my sister, age 22, and 13 weeks pregnant, this morning was at work, while standing she felt faint, then walked out of the room, everything went black (she described it as thinking she went blind), then leaned against a wall... and fainted and woke up on the floor, she was sweating and shaking right before that. When she woke up, she went to the bathroom and threw up, and was shaky afterwards...
Avatar m tn one day, she fainted while holding her baby, and woke up to find the baby under her, with a broken leg. baby was put in hospital in a brace, and while there, my cousin had another fainting attack, infront of a doctor, who then realised it was actually seizures she had been having all this time. Had the doctors considered epilepsy at all with you?
Avatar n tn Theres a thing called head sparing where blood doesn't go to your head like it should while youre pregnant and can cause dizziness. My doctor said to always call if I have fainted or go to the e.r. also the heat from the shower and or dehydration, and high blood pressure (or way to low blood pressure) and a sudden rise or drop in blood sugar can all cause dizziness/fainting. I would at least call your doctor and let them know what happened even if you arent going to the e.r.
Avatar n tn I don't know if I am in the right place for this or not, but I have been fainting since I was 13 (now 30). It used to happen for no apparent reason (not from stress) & I went through many tests (EEG, EKG, etc) before they did the tilt-table test & figured out it was when adreneline was released into my system that heart rate went up/blood pressure down. I was on nadalol (sp)?
Avatar n tn I forgot to mention that usually when I get the feeling of an attack I tell my parents and they tell me to eat something like a chocolate bar (even in the morning). This happened once in Zellers while Christmas shopping in the morning and I had to hold onto the shopping cart because my eyes were getting darker and they bought a chocolate bar to eat and told me to sit down and after about 5 minutes I was back to normal... Would this have anything to do with low sugar.. diabetes do you think?
Avatar f tn u can get a tattoo while pregnant...................i had a big chest piece done for my daughter and there was no harm............of course...i was power pumping so i had extra milk and just pumped and dumped after my tattoo....
Avatar f tn You need to get the diabetes treated and get on a diabetic diet. Until you do that, you are not going to feel well. Get tested for Celiac disease while you're at it. Have your BP checked because of that headache you're having. If you still have the dizziness, it may be a middle ear problem. For the constipation, start a probiotic and consider Metamucil and magnesium citrate tablets.
Avatar f tn Do not be concerned about this. I am a Muslim, our proper prayer requires us to stand in one spot for a few minutes up to a few hours depending upon how long you want the prayer to be. This is five times a day. Your exact symptoms I have experienced. They are precisely as you say and you do defi itely feel you will pass out. I cannot stand without leaning on something or without moving for extended amounts of time or I will become faint likeand dizzy.
