Fainting while passing stool

Common Questions and Answers about Fainting while passing stool

fainting

I'm 18 years old and I have been passing out since I was 13. The first time it happened I completely passed out on the toliet cold and I was rushed to the er. At first they said it was because of my meds that I were recently prescribed so I stopped taking them. Then I started to always feel dizzy and I would know beforehand that I was going to pass out real quick unless I layed down. After a lot of doctors visits they told me I had vasovagal syncope and put me on batablockers.
This has never been confirmed. My wife witnessed me passing out while on the toilet once. She said I did not have a seizure. She is a registered nurse, so I believe her. This first occurred about 17 years ago (I was about 24 years old) and has occurred about 1-3 times per year since then. Dehydration could be a contributing factor since I do not drink enough water.
You say you have cirrhosis. I am sorry to say that you have advanced liver disease. The two symptoms you mention indicate that you have advanced, decompensated cirrhosis. The two symptoms are called Ascites and Varices. Unfortunately your liver disease has progressed to the point where you will need a new liver in the future to continue to live. No one can say exactly how long before your liver fails, it depends on your current health status and many known and unknown factors.
Literally have had bouts of extreme abdominal cramping, profuse sweating (wear I remove all my clothing no matter WHAT bathroom I'm in), hyperventilating leading to rigidity and passing out. The earliest I can remember Fainting from was about age 12, directly related to my awful period cramps. Passed out trying to get to my mom, who was loading the dishwasher. Only made it to the kitchen, where I landed on the corner of the dishwasher door, busting my head open.
the day before i couldnt go to the bathroom, and the morning after i had a really bad pain in my stomach i went to the restroom and while i was in the restroom i was sweating and i felt really cold, then i blacked out. i want to know why did that happened to me ? should i go to the doctor to check ?
Generally the symptoms you describe—a pressure in abdomen as though you need to pass stool, loose stool, pain, Fainting are due to inflammatory bowel disease (IBS, Croghn’s, celiac, food intolerance etc) and accompanying vasovagal attack. I suggest you consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!
I have headaches, pain in the right shoulder, back pain, bowl movements vary from loose to constipated along with the other previous symptoms. I went to my gp who tested my blood and stool for signs of a virus, the results came back normal. I have had severe nausea to the point of nearly passing out most mornings, i have lost half a stone and get racing heartbeats at night. I went back to my gp who tested another stool sample for h pylori, again the results came back normal.

The problem to force stool out can prolong a strain that will naturally cause the blood pressure to shoot up which might trigger a stroke or heart attack. For more detail, http://biolife.wordpress.
Upon wiping there was blood, and it was clear that I had damaged myself passing the stool, and it took a while to stop the bleeding (not alot of blood, maybe a fingerprint sized mark on the paper each time), Since then the area has been very sore, I have tried placing vaseline on it (as I have heard that it can help with fissures) but tonight I tried to go again and I was close to tears from the pain!
when there is blood in the stool from a cancer (tumor), its from the stool passing over the tumor and irritating it. Diarreah wouldn't cause this irritation. The bloody diarreah is probably from inflammation in the colon. Please tell your sister NOT to think about colon cancer until she's sure its worth worrying about. I spent my WHOLE summer worrying about colon cancer, and i had many of the same symptoms as your sister in law had.
dont's, along with all kinds of other things that is hard to not do in everyday tasks of life. Stool softeners are suggested to help avoid, but the whole healthy eating habits/high fiber & more fruits & veggies diets are also recommended. Blowing your nose, well, maybe try some saline nose spray to help maybe not get so stuffy in the first place so you won't have to make sure you're in a safe siting position when you blow your nose in case you do get woozy..
The VT isn't ablated unless it's sustained or very symptomatic with episodes of passing out or nearly passing out. Sometimes it's difficult to induce the Vt in the lab but becasue the PVCs typically look like the VT we sometimes go after them" ...
in appearance, the latter due to the effect of acid on the blood), passing stool that is black and tarry due to changes in the blood as it passes through the intestine (melena), and orthostatic dizziness or Fainting (caused by a drop in blood pressure especially when standing up from a lying position)." The AFP numbers are alright.
KIDNEYS/URETER The kidney is responsible for filtering the blood, removing wastes and passing it out in the urine while conserving essential electrolytes and water. It also plays other important roles in regulating several functions in the body that are not associated with urine, like stimulating the production of red blood cells. The kidney is located in the upper part of the abdomen and shielded by the ribcage. Urine from the kidney leads to the bladder via the ureter.

I think as the stool passes by the places in the intestines that are inflamed, cracked or exposed in some way to the stool itself and the stool is getting into the blood stream and the headache will stop when the stool is passed, for the most part easily the headache goes away6.
My point is just that if you had a carcinoid in your small intestine that had spread enough to be causing all of your other symptoms, you would be having a ton of blood in your stool, you would be getting lots of fevers, passing out, and in general just be a lot sicker. I know you feel very sick right now but I'm talking about symptoms that people have when they are close to dying, not just feeling crummy (but I do understand how terrible you feel).
Because NCS is neurocardiogenic syncope, which has Fainting in its very name! And, while some faint who have P.O.T.S., others don't. Additionally, you mentioned feeling tired and sluggish. Besides mentioning a possible autonomic disorder, did the nurse practicioner order a ferritin (iron stores) and iron saturation percentage level on you to be sure you are not iron deficient? Did she check your thyroid function? How about your B 12 level? I hope so.
when he died he was very swollen and yellow from his liver shutting down and he was passing black loose stool,,,,, but he was also on pain meds and died quite peacfully. I was suprised,,,,I didnt believe he was going to die b/c that very same day he went outside for a walk...life is funny like that;;; one minute your walking around and the next you are just a memory....I miss him bunches and wish he had the oppurtunity to be treated but he didnt..........
First, I will feel a bit dizzy and nauseas, then I will have to run to the bathroom because the diarrhea hits me and I feel like while I'm going to the bathroom I will pass out, then the nausea and dizziness with cold chillls and then I am hot so I have to take the sweater off that I put on because I was cold. I am 30 years old and I have a mild case of lupus that has been under control with plaquinil over the past ten years.
I also felt like my mouth was very dry and that I needed to use the restroom and was burping and passing gas a lot. After a few minutes of trying to walk, I regained my normal state, walked outside for fresh air, calmed down and had some fruit. Later on that night, I experienced something similar. I immediatley went to the ER. Unfortunately for me, by the time I got there the episode had stopped. The doctor who saw me, checked me out and said I had hyperventilated and had an anxiety attack.
I've found that if I'm getting tons of palps, that sitting around idle and thinking about it is no good-- I usually get up and go do something to take my mind off it. If i have them while laying in bed trying to fall asleep I'll just get up and watch tv or somthing, even turn on the PC and play an online video game (call of duty, etc), anything to take the brain off the heartbeats. I do take a Xanax .5mg before bed, though, and it helps relax some.
I checked my heart rate while this was going on (although it wasn't easy) and it was 84bpm which is fairly normal for me. Now when I asked my lying gp about it she automatically knocked it up to the dreaded "menopause" but I wasn't flushed or hot during the last attacks and although I explained this to her she said that the holter monitor will tell us what is going on. HUH...not if it's hypoglycemia you silly doctor!
Did great ,not one seizure Fainting spell, bloating seems gone, just coughs once in a while(boy I hate that sound). We cook all his food 93% lean beef, rice, lentils , peas, and he is eating very well. Peeing a lot and drinking from the meds. The vet is not a cardiologist but seems the meds are the the correct choice. I've read a lot about vetmedin but he doesn't seem to want him on it at this point. Not sure I like that.
So far they have found nothing. I know I am not crazy, but after a while, with no name to put with this, it is making me crazy. I have seen others post on here with same symptoms, but the post was in archives of last year. I looked for answers ( Piper123 had same symptoms 8-6-06 ) didn't see any. Wish I could get in touch with anyone that has gone through this and is feeling better ( need to know there is light at the end of the tunnel) Please respond anyone.
For a while I actually thought it was diet beverages that were doing it to me as I had cut out all regular soda not too much before my problem started (though I tried cutting the diet drinks out and didnt feel any better). Do you think seeing a neurologist would be a waste of money / effort?
I also realized this has been gradually getting worse with symptoms starting as early as last summer. Hopefully we can find an answer. While I'm fine with never drinking again, I'd just like some assurance it isn't a symptom of a more serious condition.
I hear you all and it doesn't get a lot better as you get older. I'm 45. Getting pregnant took 7 years for me and then it almost killed me. Border Diabetes, Toxemia and premature labor. Birth caused a vaginal hemotoma (I'm a real bleeder) Hemohorraged 9 days after birth from hormonal inadequacy. Was so weakened that I got sick with Thyroiditis. It caused a cyst on my thyroid and tyroid problems for years. My heart palpitates and has other irreguar rythyms.
