20084011 tn?1489877396 s first, take a deep breath, relax, and focus. What makes you anxious about getting blood drawn? Has there been a situation involving getting your blood drawn that triggers your anxiety? Also, have you spoken to a doctor about your anxiety? For being 14, it seems your anxiety is through the roof and you should be speaking to a therapist about it. This is something you need to explain to your father that this needs to be done. Brushing it off will not fix the problem.
Avatar f tn It's really not bad at all. It's like drinking a soda without the carbonation. I didn't start to feel ill/shaky until my blood sugar plummeted while eating lunch later that day. But I didn't faint.
Avatar f tn Ftm & I never knew while pregnant we have to get at least 6tubes of blood drawn lol will they continue to draw blood every time I go to the doc?
Avatar m tn Now just a little back story I was recently tested for HIV (Came out negative) but ever since then I have had been having extreme anxiety about everything and anything. Now this question is related to when I got my blood drawn. Now i didn't watch her take my blood because I don't usually but when it was done and over and when she took it out it kind of hurt a bit.
Avatar f tn I am horrible about getting my blood drawn. Not only am I a fainter but it's nearly impossible to find a vein. I went it to get my pregnancy test and blood sample to look into any health problems. They had to poke me five times before they got any blood. Can anyone tell me how many times will I need to get my blood drawn during pregnancy? Just wanting to prepare myself!
Avatar n tn For a while now, I've been getting extreme stomach pains along with feeling numb in my hands and feet, feeling faint and actually fainting, being extremely tired, and drinking all the time. My mom was conserned about diabetes, because it runs in our family. She used a self-check glucose machine right after I woke up, and the blood sugar was 197. When I went to the doctor, he told me that was a normal reading, and the different symptoms are just a coincidense.
Avatar f tn If the brain does not get enough blood, the brain may not get enough oxygen and sugar, causing fainting. Or if the level of oxygen or sugar in the blood decreases, the brain may not get enough of them. Many disorders interfere with getting enough oxygen and sugar to the brain and thus can cause fainting. A less common reason for fainting is temporary interruption of consciousness by a seizure.
Avatar f tn Hello, just had my blood drawn and when I took off the tape, I had a bruise and a bunch of little red dots in the crease of my arm, to the right of the bruins. Should I be concerned? I'm only asking because they look like tiny blood clots and I like to make sure it's okay.
4182046 tn?1355820039 They're always taking my blood :-( that feeling you got was your blood pressure dropping. Make sure you've eaten before your blood test. I made the mistake of being really hungry on one blood test I had and ended up with my face in a sick bowl, shaking, sweating, couldn't hear anything but a high pitched ringing, it really was awful. I got a hot chocolate afterward and felt better.
Avatar n tn I went and got tested by getting my blood drawn at my 12th week mark. The next morning I woke up to a patch of these brown freckle looking spots on the back of my right hand. I know nobody in the US reuses needles but I immediately thought by human error, could it be possible? I showed my hand to a dermatologist but he was unsure what it was. The test came back negative but now I have a fear. Should get retested or am I thinking irrationally? Also, is a 12 weeks test conclusive vs.
393685 tn?1425812522 I miss the putty tat! Just thought you were sticking out your tongue at all those so-called drs. Am praying for only good things to come your way! Understand completely about being excited about the blood draws. True story. I almost didn't marry my first husband b/c I was so scared of getting the blood drawn. My mom had to hold my head to the side and talk comfortingly to me. I was 20 years old!!!
Avatar m tn The next time you have your blood drawn.......watch much more carefully. They are very quick. They draw hundreds of labs a day. That you missed her actually opening the new needle, well, that's just how it went. If you are THAT paranoid, as soon as you walk in next time, say loud and clear "I want to see you open the new needle!" Most will be happy to accomodate your fear. I don't know why there seems to be a rash of this particular fear on the fourm lately.
1923882 tn?1352250106 Lightheadedness and fainting can be common during pregnancy. Sometimes it is due to low blood sugar, and sometimes it is caused by moving to fast or standing up too quickly. If it happens alot then you may want to go get checked.
560501 tn?1383612740 Also I commend both you and her Drs as I had blood drawn for 10 years and all symptoms minus fainting yet I was always told depression. You have been an incredible parent to believe her and push through until she got a diagnosis!
Avatar m tn Hello, every time I go in to get blood work done either during or directly after giving my blood I break out into a massive sweat, get extremely nauseated and feel as though I am getting so light headed that I am on the verge of completely blacking out. What can I do to prevent this, it is so horrible that I am on the verge of not getting blood work done because of this when I really need to. Thank you.
2086477 tn?1332611994 Some say that I get up very fast and my blood has not enough time to travel to my brain (why dont I pass out while I am on my way to the toilet then?) others say that while urinating first thing in the morning the water ballance in the body dropps (I can not understand the issue.. Does someone have the same? Does anyone knows what to do (not to do?) I have to mention that I have MS, which is a neuroligical condition.. Guess it can contribute as well.. and I am 31. Thank you in advance !
10777943 tn?1412955415 I'm the same, I get terrible fainting spells during pregnancy. I know its not low blood pressure because I've had preeclamplsia through both pregnancies but interestingly my iron levels have been really low particularly this pregnancy. I had an iron infusion last week and haven't fainted since. Maybe get your iron checked?
Avatar f tn At the beginning of my pregnancy i had 6 viles taken, i ended up fainting while getting drawn, woke up and puked EVERYWHERE and felt horrible after, i refused to get blood drawn again i was so scared, untill my doctor told me i had to get it done before he seen me again, so my boyfriend made me go anyway, and i squeezed his hand and turned my head and it was done before i new it!
