Avatar n tn Our kids played tennis, mostly singles, but some doubles. Tennis requires quite a bit of stamina, but playing doubles might be something to consider. I'd definitely get the doctor's approval. There are some great websites for families dealing with LQTS. My EP is a specialist in the disorder and I know there is a lot of ongoing research.
Avatar f tn I am a 65 year old gal having cataract surgery in 2 weeks. What is the best lens choice for an avid tennis player? My doctor thinks it's ReSTOR. After reading about problems, I'm not sure. Is there a tennis player out there who is happy with ReSTOR? My 3.5 Super Senior Team won the state of Florida and is going to Nationals. Of course I would love not having to use reading glasses but not if it's a vision sacrifice.
Avatar f tn My pain is in the front of my knee. I am a tennis player, 63, and am going crazy from not being able to play.
Avatar n tn My daughter who is 15 was recently diagnosed with NCS. She is a tennis player and is really struggling with her athletic conditioning. She is trying to drink more water and take in more salft. Does the Florinef help your ability to compete like you were used to? I hate it for her- Everyone on her tennis team has no idea that it is a medical issue not a lack of laziness and inability on her part. Friday, she almost passed out running sprints and do footwork exercises.

Avatar f tn My 13 yr has been complaining of her hip "popping". She is a soccer player and it occasionally bothers her while playing but yesterday about 4 hrs after the game was over and she was sitting in the car- she had sharp stabbing pain in her hip. She was absolutely hysterical with the pain. She is not a dramatic child and she actually was starting to scare me. Could it just be a groin strain?
Avatar n tn I'm 15 and due to changing my eating habits, I went from 142 to 113. I'm 5'5" and a half and am a tennis player. I've missed my period 6 times in a row now, does this mean that when I grow up I can't have kids?
Avatar m tn I am a regular and quite good tennis player, and I am having great difficulty playing as well as I was accustomed. The best way to discribe the problem is that I am having trouble focusing on moving objects. I can see very well at a stationary scene, but am getting hit by balls that I used to hit well. Is this a condition that I will get used to over time, or is the imbalance between the focal lengths in my eyes beyond the limit that the brain can adjust to?
Avatar m tn Hi Ed, As a fellow tennis player I feel for you! I'm sorry about your injury. The rotator cuff is a common injury with tennis players (besides tennis elbow). I would rest it and take NSAID's like Ibuproin or naproxin for about a week or two if you can. I don't mean don't use it but just don't strain it. Also, try icing it of and on. Then start your own PT at home. Get in the the shower and warm up the shoulder and arm.
Avatar n tn Hi, I fainted after playing tennis for about 5-10 minutes. This happened to me years ago while working out in a gym. I haven't done any strenuous exercise in years-- I walk instead of driving, but I am otherwise very sedentary. I am a slender 23 year old female. I have no history of illness. The only possibly related anomalies I have experienced are vasovagal syncope after blood tests, injections etc.
Avatar f tn I'm a pretty serious doubles/ tennis player. Often, I feel horrible when I first get on the court. I'm fatigued, and "foggy headed." It's really tough, as my partner wants to win.... Then, after forcing myself to stick with it, I almost always feel better after about an hour or so. I think the adrenaline, may work to reverse some of the neuron issues that brought on the fatigue......
Avatar f tn I still exercise by walking, but feel I would feel better without it. This is after being a tennis player for years and having to stop because the more I played the more I suffered afterwards as far as being exhausted the next day.
Avatar n tn I'm 35yrs old and received Lasik surgery 2 years ago (had a -2.75 prescription with a very small astigmatism). One of the main reasons I did the surgery was because I'm an avid tennis player and skier, and I wanted to not have to wear contacts when I engaged in my favorite sports. The surgery went well with no complications. Two years later, the vision in my left eye is 20/20, but my right eye is around -0.5.
Avatar f tn My baby is a tennis player. She plays between 2am and 5am. Keeping me awake.
Avatar f tn Kaul, My 13 year-old son, who is a very competitive swimmer and table tennis player, has also diagnosed with OCD in his right elbow started June last year. The last year December MRI told that his joint was still intact with a piece of shadow and some effusion. He has stopped playing table tennis which is considered the one that likely caused the problem but been swimming kind of 'normally', which is considered might be even 'helpful'.
Avatar f tn I recently have beed diagnosed with a tear in the rotator cuff but much more painful is the tear of the deltoid. I am an avid golfer and tennis player. two othorpedic surgerons said DO NOT have surgery and one says if I want my quality of life back to have the surgery. The pain is a 10 when there are certain upper movements. I have been reading about hte surgeries and am not comfortable about the outcome of surgery. What can you suggest?
Avatar n tn I am 86 years old in good physical shape, play tennis do nautilis and swim several times a week. Do get puffin when extended on tennis, or on a tread mill at higher than 3.5 miles per hour. A retired Electro cardio surgeon I met Has a resting rate of 50 ppm and has his pacemaker set at 45 ppm He points out this is a 12% duty cycle oh his pace maker and mine is over 75%. This save on the battery life and delays pacemaker replacement. He has installed over 2000 pacemakers in his career.
Avatar m tn He wants to do a neck MRI to see if there is any nerve pushing together possible just to make sure.. He said twitching is normal and especially since I am a big tennis player... Avatar m tn Aortic stenosis - if you have no problems with blood pressure, or symptoms of fainting or near fainting spells, this wouldn't be an issue. The description "mild" likely refers to early changes - it may produce some problems in the next 5 to 10 years, best watch your blood pressure. Mitral regurgitation - not likely a player.
Avatar f tn Ever seen Serena Williams? Top tennis player, obviously exercises as much as you can and has a private nutritionist and all that but she's just a large person -- she'll never be thin unless like her sister she gets very sick. So if you're truly eating a healthy diet and exercising hard, I have to ask again, are you overweight or you just want to look different?
