Unlike stroke, when a TIA is over, there's no injury to the brain I would mention it to the doctor. Carcinista could easily be correct also.

After having an MRI, MRA, Lumbar Puncture, Ultrasound, X-Ray, EEG, EKG, and lots of blood work...all tests were normal. She always regains movement and the ability to speak within an hour.
Avatar f tn It is a finding with possible cause like hypertension, diabetes or hypercholesterolemia. What are your neurological symptoms that called for an MRI brain? This condition can be a precursor of stroke and should be taken as a warning to make lifestyle modifications to prevent a future stroke. These changes can also be seen in migraine headaches. MS plaques are hyperintense on T2 weighted and FLAIR images and hypointense on T1 weighted scans and are located in the periventricular white matter.

Originally, they thought it was neurological... years later they said it was a heart condition. I've had the EEG's, EKG's, MRI's, and a couple others I can't remember the names of... After having a table test, which didn't reveal anything really, the doctor said he thought it was Syncope. However, I've never been officially diagnosed with no real proof.

How long a average attack lasts? I give a detailed history that should be helpful. It wasn't a good experience. I also wanted to know once you start having these attacks, how often are they likely to reoccur?
Avatar f tn What you have could be due to TIA or transient ischemic attack which is a mini stroke that happens when the blood supply to brain is temporarily cut off. The episodes last for a maximum of 24 hours and then resolve or a new symptom starts. Again this can be due to low oxygen supply to brain where the blood supply to brain is temporarily cut off generally due to a spasm of the arteries, or a clot or high blood pressure causing micro leaks in the brain.
Avatar n tn In the meantime her regular neurologist will be looking into whether she actually has real seizures or pseudo-seizures and of course what is going on with the fainting. He also said he's been a little lightheaded.
