Common Questions and Answers about Fainting or near fainting

fainting

Avatar f tn 3 months ago I started experiencing weekly episodes of near fainting/fainting. Usually before I have an episode become very spacy and objects seem to sway. I get a strange tingling in my lips, tongue, toes, and fingers. Then, suddenly it feels like all the blood drains from my head and I get close to blacking out, but before I blackout I get a jolt of adrenaline. I notice that somedays seem cloudy and my body has this uncomfortable aura. I just feel sick and drained.
1318351 tn?1313381421 So many things have happened to me since May actually. Right now I am dealing with episodes of near fainting which scares me so badly but anyway. Since these episodes have started I have noticed that now about one week before my cycle I start to get them (more then just here and there) and then a couple days after my cycle ends they pretty much go back to what the normal has been, just a few a day. Does anyone else have this happen?
Avatar f tn Another good thing to check out is potential pregnancy. That can sometimes cause fainting/near-fainting spells. I'm not saying this is your issue. Just saying it's something simple that has the potential to cause the symptoms.
Avatar n tn Heart problems and fainting or near fainting is not a good combination. I recommend contacting your doctor, especially if you've noticed any rapid beat or palpitations when the lightheadeness/presyncope occurs. Did you mean May 2008 or do you mean that for over the past year they haven't been able to diagnose your heart condition? You said, May 2007. That seems odd to me that it would take that long. Good luck!
5009178 tn?1369953775 I Experienced This Near The Beginning. What I Suggest Is If Your Having Troubles Eating, Try Have A Protein Shake Instead. It Gives You Enough Nutritence For Your Body To Function Somewhat. Always stay Hydrated, Try Ice Cubes In Your Water, The Cold Keeps You A Little More Awake.
Avatar n tn I in the last 5 months have had several fainting and near fainting spells with all cardiac work ups coming back normal tilt table test was normal other then feeling like I was going to faint. Moderate to severe abdominal pain usually after a large or greasy meal.Left eye twitches before and after fainting spells as well as a right sided c-shaped headache that last no more then 20 min and starts behind right eye area.Any help or suggestions would be helpful.
Avatar n tn I've never had problems with fainting. I completely blacked out for a minute. I went to the ER, and they did a basic work up, ekg, some blood and urine tests, Ct scan,Cutarad Duplex ultrasound and chest xray Everything looked normal. One week later, it suddenly hit me again. This time my eating and drinking were normal. I was standing on a deck and it started spinning. For several days after that, I would have close calls. Went back to work, and thought it was all better.
Avatar f tn ve had fainting anxiety for a while. Whenever I come near to a set of stairs, or public bathroom for example. There are just certain situations that I really don't want to faint in! Without medication I faint approximately four times per week, but with medication it's reduced to about twice per month. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Throughout the years I've had random months of better control, and random months of poorer control. It doesn't always make much sense to me.
1668327 tn?1303499112 ve had so may opinions from Lyme disease to blood clot, to infection of my teeth and gums or ears, diabetes, viral or bacterial infection, parasitic infection, carotid thrombosis, adrenal or thyroid, and I dont know where to start. Neurologist, cardiologist, other specialist, dentist? I'm afraid to google these things for fear of making myself a huge mess with paranoia..
Avatar n tn Does the near fainting occur before or after you feel the thumping? If it is after, you could be scaring yourself into thinking you are about to faint. Same thing with the shortness of breath. Definitely go to the doc and get checked out. Once you are given the all clear, you can just let it thump. Easier said than done! I hope everything works out.
1449117 tn?1284756363 I read others sxs of the same and finally able to describe what I am going thru. I have Multiple Sclerosis as well. THose words describe exactly what I am experiencing. My Neurologist questions whether I am having Syncope/fainting spells or near fainting. I don't know. It even happens without movement at times. I feel like I am dying when this happens it is so scary. Looking for anyone to chat with that experiences this as well. Hope I am reaching the right forum group.
Avatar f tn There's no way any of us can give you any advice on this, although I know you'd like help and I'm sure a lot of us would like to help you. Fainting can result from simple or more complex problems, and only a doc is going to be able to tell you what's going on. He really, really, really needs to be seen by a doc - his own doc or one he sees by going to an ER.
Avatar m tn Ofcourse it could be something as simple as anemia or low sugar or disturbed sleep pattern or just stress. I do not think it is related to her periods. TIA and seizures to start with can happen with a prolonged gap of normalcy in between. Episodes of blackouts could also be due to postural hypotension (blood pressure falling with change of position). Both the times your friend stood up from a sitting or lying down position.
Avatar m tn Headache is like a nail going through left eye shooting out back of head. Also have stress headaches coming from neck shooting over top of head. Had brain aneurysm in 2004. Have tried about every drug for headaches, migraines, epilepsy and more. Have done eeg ekg catscans mri, can't remember all the other tests. I've been a human pin cushion for the last eight years. I haven't found anything that works or anybody that has same symptoms.
Avatar m tn Did you actually faint or just feel like you were going to? Could be simple low bp or simple anemia but it does seem a check up is in order. Without other heart symptoms I suspect it is something outside the heart but best to get checked out by a doctor if this continues. And maybe also post your question in the diagnosed symptoms section to see what others have to offer for fainting spells.
Avatar n tn Possible low blood sugar or fluctuating sugar levels ,if you faint a loyt need to have it checked out at your Doctor .
