fainting

Avatar f tn If your blood pressure is dropping even lower on the plane then that's why your passing out. You really need to try and walk around on the plane as much as possible. Do you take Dramamine? That may help with your sick stomach. Take care.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with vasovagel syncope which is a fainting when your blood pressure lowers. This fainting seems to occur more often when I am flying in a plane. How can I avoid this"? Is the pressure lower in some planes more than others?
18860756 tn?1468945709 Then I realized I got the same anxiety while waiting to fly home from a weekend away. I was on the plane and felt so trapped and anxious to take off that I felt as if I could faint again! It's almost as if I'm fearful of fainting in public again that I cause myself to feel faint. It's a vicious cycle! And now I find myself dreading things that I once loved to do - i.e. hang out with friends in the city, go out to eat, travel, etc.
Avatar f tn I am 15yo and at around 5:30 pm I started feeling sick after getting off a plane. I started getting these cramps which I thought were because of my period which is two days late. I went to the toilet and I was fine so I went back to wait for my suitcase and the pain came back but was worse. I started feeling dizzy, turned pale and fainted. Once I got to the hotel the cramps were still there and diarrhea started to occur.
Avatar n tn I got very lightheaded and dizzy. It felt like I was having a seizure and next thing i remember is waking up on the ground next to the toilet, with a busted lip and the whole right side of my face bruised.
Avatar n tn My 14 year old daughter has been having fainting spells for about a year now. In October, she was diagnosed with Epilepsy due to an EEG that showed slowing in the left temporal lobe. This was confirmed in December by another doctor. She was on Keppra and then was added Trileptal but kept having spells. So, the docs put her in the hospital for 5 days and weaned her off the medication while on video EEG. She had one episode but it didn't record as seizure so they decided it was cardiac.
Avatar f tn I believe a pacemaker has little, even no, effect on Atrial Flutter or Fibrillation. Thus, I conclude, it is reasonable to have an ablation when also using a pacemaker. I guess the pacemaker is there to keep your HR from falling too low, it will do nothing about any extra beats that come from the Flutter problem. Good luck, let us know how it goes. We can always use current experience on ablation work for more questions that will continue to come in.
Avatar f tn I flew early in my 3rd trimester. My doctor said after 32 weeks I couldn't travel by plane any longer. I wore compression stockings, drank tons of water and walked around the airport to help my circulation.
Avatar f tn I flew with my son at 4 months. I gate checked the stroller to go under the plane. I have never seen anyone allow a stroller to go on the plane. I think it's probably too big for the overhead bins. If you buy an extra ticket for your baby you should have no problem taking it on board with you.
Avatar n tn They moved him to an area on the plane where he could lay down. He still had a very strong urge to have a bowel movement and urinate. Once he was stable, they allowed him to go the bathroom. I would say it was a good 30 mins before he seemed ok...he was slightly ill on and off for the remainder of the flight (14 hrs), however, he was very sleepy. This really scared me. I thought he had a heart attack, stroke, etc....My husband is 38 years old, six feet one, and weighs about 240.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been on a plane while being in the 2nd trimester? I will have to fly for a wedding... It is a 2 hour flight. Any tips or advice? Thanks!!!
Avatar n tn Hi, This has happened to me 4 or 5 times... you may have "vasovagal syncope" (situational fainting) and it's likely related to the low oxygen on the airplane... I usually get it after I've fallen asleep for a few minutes, on the way up (I've not gotten it on descent)-- you breathe more shallow when you sleep, so get even less oxygen (and it's low on airplanes to begin with). I wake up feeling sick, get up, and pass out near the bathroom (never usually actually sick).
Avatar m tn I am sure everyone has heard about the missing plane. I have no link to share because it's everywhere. Wondering if anyone has any theories. I keep seeing terror being talked about but I think trying to make that connection is stupid right now.
Avatar f tn Its fine up until close to the end of pregnancy when theres a chance you could go into labor. Dont want a baby born up in the air!
1166456 tn?1417305537 The terms median plane or mid-sagittal plane are sometimes used to describe the sagittal plane running through the midline. This plane cuts the body into halves (assuming bilateral symmetry),[1] passing through midline structures such as the navel and spine. It is one of the lines defining the right upper quadrant of the human abdomen......
Avatar f tn Im 32 weeks and will be moving to texas soon, is it safe for me to fly on the airplane ? Another question ... I have medical, & was wondering will I be able to get insurance in texas for my pregnancy .
168006 tn?1241012961 I was just curious if there is any problem with taking a newborn on a plane due to the pressure in the ears and all. Does anyone know? If so, at what age is air travel considered safe?
649598 tn?1239117215 In May I will be moving from Michigan to New York City with my cat, Boops. I was wondering what the best way is to move him. So far the only thing I can come up with is taking him on the plane as a carry-on, sedated, but I'm so worried that he will have a heart attack or something. He hates going anywhere in or out of his carrier, has even been so upset that he wet in his carrier and he NEVER pees anywhere but in the litterbox.
341190 tn?1295467125 I certainly know about the sweats so horrible can be 5 or 6 in the morning and im showering and changing sheets, something else to cope with eh, my doc also said the same about when i have symptoms to lie on the floor, what they also dont understand is its quite embarrasing if your in the middle of a supermarket or in the pub or anywhere for that matter, i once fainted on a plane while it was taxing to the runway, they had to turn round and get me an ambulance, poor passengers had to wait 2 hour
Avatar f tn Hi, will my heart PAC.PVC, whatever they are get worse when I am on a plane, I am going on vaction for 10 days but I am so frightened to fly just incase I have these attacks.
Avatar f tn Her heart rate dropped pretty low for a few moments while she was still inside. She and daddy hoped a plane to a bigger hospital and they are doing brain scans and lung xrays to figure out what happens next. I barely got to see her but she was big strong girl....daddy got to see her eyes open after the plane landed....but neither of us have heard her cry yet because they have had her sedated. I can not wait to go be with my family...hear her cry...touch her sweet face again...

Avatar f tn I am curious if living or traveling at altitude has any effect on people who are at risk for retinal detachment or glaucoma, especially if someone arrives at high altitude quickly by plane rather than acclimating slowly. I recently read an article which said the same drug(Diamox) used to treat AMS(acute mountain sickness) is also used to treat glaucoma, so I was curious if altitude can cause glaucoma.
Avatar f tn I agree...I think the plane missing is some type of conspiracy. Come on how can a plane go missing and you can't track it?
