215164 tn?1269466240 On the outside of my forearm I can feel the pulse of the muscular nerve firing off at random and it causes my wrist to move outward on it's own on both hands. I can see the muscle contract in my arm as well. This can continue for a few mins, hours or days. Does anyone know the correct medical term for this? I don't think it will fall under either fasciculation or myokomia.
Avatar f tn Check out the documentary "Under Our Skin" which is about chronic Lyme disease. That's an eye opener! I have four autoimmune diseases and have a negative ANA btw. Hmmm :) I did find a study entitled - Syncope and Raynaud's disease. Syncope is the medical term for fainting. This does make sense that fainting could be a symptom of Raynaud's due to ischaemia (restriction in blood supply to tissues) in the brain.
Avatar n tn In this condition blood vessels tend to expand, which leads to pooling of blood in the lower parts of the body. As a result, less blood reaches the brain and this causes fainting. The usual stimulus for this action resides in the nerves of the heart-hence the term neurocardiogenic. A head-up tilt test can uncover the underlying cause of the fainting in this syndrome.
Avatar f tn That happend to me also i went to the doctor they sent me to L&D and the baby was fine. The midwife told me that i wasnt drinking enough water and to make sure to eat before walking or take something with me just in case i would start to feel like that again.
Avatar f tn Ask if there was any twitching or shaking or convulsions, for a start. Epilepsy is unlikely, but must not be ruled out. Usually medical treatment is only begun after the third episode. In certain individuals even small amounts of alcohol can precipitate a seizure. Even though some time has passed, a physician's examination and input would be in order.
255722 tn?1452546541 Okay, so I have years (like up to three or four) at a time when I am all but asymptomatic. Maybe some PVC's here and there, or a fainting spell due to absolute triggers (pain, low BP, injury, injured loved one etc) once or twice a year, sometimes none. Up until July of this year, I had been nearly "normal" for over three years!!!
Avatar m tn Its normal loads of people get it,takes energy for your body to process the food and that can make sleepy hence the term after dinner dip.
Avatar f tn I am 27 weeks and had a fainting spell. After I woke up, I discovered I had vomited and lost control of my bowels. Is this ever normal with fainting or is it a sign of something else like siezure? I have had other fainting spells while pregnant but never other symptoms. I am concerned.
Avatar m tn I tried to get my records several years ago to go to another physician and they said my they could not find my records. What is the term "throwing triplets"? I notice when I get extremely tired or stressed my heart seems to beat incorrectly.
Avatar f tn t make a same day appointment and it has to be done by the medical assistant, I have left two messages and no word. To top it off, they are only open til noon and as of this....it is almost ten. What should I do?
Avatar n tn Has your normal dr run any test and checked your labs? I have friends who have seizures who still carry to term. Seizures happen for many different reasons from caffeine to medical conditions. Once you have baby you may need a mri of the brain and to be seen by a neuro dr.
Avatar n tn ve had a total of 5 episodes of syncope and subsequent hospitalizations for ischemic colitis that started after the fainting. I have also had 'near syncope' without colitis. The pacemaker has been checked and is working great - the fainting episodes may be vasovagal.
Avatar m tn This is a post from my two others. I've gotten help out of those two but I was hoping if I got some more answers. So recently my friend has fainted, which was a very scary thing. It happened once in October but had no signs since therefore she did not go to the doctor because she thought there was no sense into doing so. But after this faint she has been worrying. Her cycle came a few days later after the fall, does this have to do with anything?
Avatar n tn m not really sure if your post is actually advocating the use of medical marijuana or street marijuana which is probably what you used as a teenager, which pot do you mean? Street grade marijuana is not the same as medical grade, street pot typically thought to be 'natural' and not as bad as other street drugs but when you buy pot off the street, it's often laced with metamphetamines to give it a stronger high, additional addictive properties etc.
Avatar n tn The medical term for your husband’s attacks is, Cough Syncope (fainting or passing out). The immediate cause of this fainting is the hard cough that causes reduced blood flow to the brain and can quickly deprive the brain of oxygen. However, there are many causes of sudden hard coughing, one of which is what is called Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD or “heartburn”) that irritates the larynx (voice box).
Avatar n tn Im not sure if those are symptoms of mono, alhtough I have currently been diagnosed with it I do have IH, and a long term chronic headache should always be addressed. Hope it gets better!
Avatar f tn ve been suffering with extreme fatigue and frequent fainting from the beginning of last October. Also have a slightly irregular heart beat apparently but doctors didn't seem concerned...
Avatar m tn Hi, I am a 21 year old male who had experienced spells of fainting since 10 year old. These fainting spells occur all of a sudden without me doing any physical demanding activities. I play a lot of sports and I eat healthily. Over the years my fainting spells got lesser and lesser. 2 Months ago, I fainted again. I went for a specialist check up and had a bunch of tests taken. ECG test came negative, Tilt Table came negative. My heart rate is healthy, BP is normal.
