Common Questions and Answers about Fainting low sodium

fainting

Avatar n tn s blood sugar and serum sodium level at the time of seizure attack. Generally low sodium or blood sugar precipitates it. Another possibility is brain ischemia or low oxygen. Another component of non epileptic seizures is psychological. Post traumatic stress is a possibility. Please discuss all these possibilities with his neurologist. Take care!
1704618 tn?1307528771 moreover i monitor my blood pressure. its fall down to low sometime but remains normal most of the time. but fainting (with heavy head and eyes=) remains the whole day.
Avatar f tn Yes low sodium levels can be dangerous, have you tried drinking some sport drinks? http://www.diagnose-me.com/cond/C549291.
Avatar f tn DHEA-S 153 NL I will say, I do have INTENSE dehydration and sodium loss that has caused me to become a neurological patient as well, and I down 2-3 32 oz Powerades a day and consume probably 10-15 times the normal sodium consumption levels as my neurologists have suggested in order to keep my from getting dizzy and passing out all the time, so that may explain why my sodium level looks fine. But that cortisol... how could it start the morning off low and end up high later in the day?
Avatar n tn ve started having arm and leg muscle fatigue and pain. What could cause this? IS blood pressure this low dangerous? This discussion is related to Low Blood Pressure/Fatigue.
1485372 tn?1359545131 When I had severe low sodium levels I was placed on fluid restriction. No more than 24 oz of liquid per day. It was terrible but it worked and I.lived that way for 7 yrs until they found what caused it.
Avatar f tn this may yield some answers, have you had your blood work done recently? If so have you had low sodium, potassium, magnesium levels or other imbalances? Keep track of how your bp/hr is and how much water and sodium you're taking in, if it is ANS issues extra water/sodium will be recommended.
Avatar f tn I get light-headed, but the only time I ever fainted was after they gave me nitroglycerine on a tilt table in the up position. My blood pressure goes up & heart rate goes up. I believe, but have not been confirmed by medical doctor/testing I have the hyperadrenergic form of POTS. In this form, the body has a way of compensating by increasing norepinephrine by a large amount when standing.
Avatar f tn That is a pretty large growth and I would imagine that it is causing lots of symptoms. I've heard of passing out fainting from anemia. B12 is a type pf anemia. Also without knowing how this growth sits it could be pressing on nerves and arteries that supply blood to that area. So yes fainting/passing out or even seizures could be possible. You might encourage your cousin or mother to post.
1340519 tn?1305166702 I haven't been diagnosed with Chiari- still in the process of finding answers. One of the avenues i've been pursuing is my low BP. It averages 94/62 , often dropping below 90/60. They thought this was the cause of my dizziness, but i'm not convinced. I do feel it drop when I stand up too quickly, etc. but I don't think its my only problem & as far as I know, it wouldn't cause the major headache at the base of my skull. I too have been told the same..
Avatar n tn Has any one else been placed on a low sodium diet by their baby doctor? I was told I have high blood pressure and just as a caution I should go on a low sodium diet. So I've been Googling recipes and things but I'm not finding to many. Does any one has some advice about the diet or some amazing recipes? That would be amazing!!
Avatar f tn I am on a 2000 mgs sodium diet. I am having a hard time finding low sodium foods like corn muffin mix, taco seasoning etc. I was wondering if anyone had found a place to but such things.
Avatar f tn Almost all levels were normal except for sodium, triglycerides, and VLDL; all of which were mildly low. Specifically, the levels were: Sodium: 133 mmol/L (normal range 134-145) Triglycerides: 45mg/dl (normal range 50-150) VLDL: 9 mg/dl (normal range 10-31) I am concerned mostly about my sodium level. I have read that low sodium level can be caused by a thyroid issue, but my TSH came back at 1.37ulU/ml (normal range 0.40-4.00).

Avatar n tn When you're having any kind of diuretics, it is always possible to have low sodium, low potassium, low Mg (those must be controled). About the side efects, all have, but Actos can give chest pain (general ill feeling), feeling short of breath, blurred vision. Actos is an oral diabetes medicine that help control blood sugar levels. These are serious allergic signs.
Avatar f tn The family doc did today make a referral for the tilt table test. My sis does lead a rather sedentary lifestyle, and has low sodium from her seizure med. Her neuro status is deteriorating, so it seems like everything may be catching up with her. I have some medical knowledge, but hadn't heard of this autonomic disorder. Isn't the internet wonderful? I just hope we can get some answers so we can help my sister, or at least keep her safe. Again, thanks for all of the info.
Avatar n tn Other possibilities are chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, low Vit B12, low iron, low calcium, sodium and potassium. Hyperthyroidism too causes increased sweating and tiredness. It can also be due to menopause so get female hormone panel including LH, FSH, prolactin, estrogen, progesterone done. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Hope this helps. Take care!
266195 tn?1215310411 t notice this really until i started a low-sodium/low fat diet. I also have SEVERE anxiety and my worst fear is blacking out/fainting. I think that it fuels the feeling and makes it worse than it actually is. I don't have health insurance or a job so I cannot go to the doctor right now unless it's pressing. I do have an appointment with a Therapist and a psychiatrist (which is free here) where I will be prescribed an SSRI.
363243 tn?1331033850 If though you have low sodium readings and consistent low cortisol readings, I hope the doc keeps an eye on you - as this may change in the future... that can happen (or like me, I was always low in the morning and high at night - I had the opposite disease!).
Avatar n tn Muscle twitchings are found in acid-base imbalance in the body, low sodium, calcium and vit D deficiency,Alzheimer’s disease, muscle fasciculation syndrome(a disorder of the nervous system characterized by the uncontrolled twitching (fasciculation) of muscle groups in various parts of the body),Motor neuron disease like ALS,chronic fatigue syndrome, hypoparathyroidism, spinal muscular atrophy or spinal neoplasms and spinocerebellar ataxia.
7748835 tn?1393868668 fainting when getting up to a standing position (I have a little increase of heart rate and blood pressure but not significant HR: 120's while standing) feelings of heart beat stopping then starting, extreme heat intolerance. I take a hot bath and my heart rate goes up to 180 most times and I feel quite dizzy, short of breath, shaky. I get very tired during exercise. I can hear my heart beat in my ears during exercise and get very short of breath.
Avatar f tn Do you know how fast your heart is going? Young small women have a tendency to low blood pressure which can create positional near fainting. I get it when I stand up too quick I will feel as though I will black out and when I am in the shower and bend down when I come back up I can see stars and my heart will start to beat faster to compensate. To help the situation you will want to make sure you get plenty of water and add a bit of sodium to your diet if you are indeed low.
Avatar f tn The low pulse rate can definately be a reason for having dizzy and fainting spells. I don't want to alarm you however, I recently went through a long 2 months of thinking i had a heart problem when it was just anxiety. I had a really fast heart rate due to anxiety. How low is your pulse? Mine gets as low as 53 BPM without feeling dizzy or weird, which is common in young, active, healthy people.
