I wear gloves . At the end of the day I check my middle fingers and there was some lines on them asceive it is a cut . I put my hands in alcohol , salt water , lime and even put spray on it when I got home but it never hurt me and there was no burning sensation .
Avatar m tn Hi- I had a question about hpv in the operating room. Recently, I was involved in a case where it was scheduled as a biopsy of an oropharyngeal lesion. Into the case, I asked why the surgeon was using a coblator for the biopsy. He said it was already known that it was a squamous cell ca with hpv positive component. There was some smoke at the beginning. We did not have n95 masks on, just regular ones, which they say can let vaporized particles in still.
Avatar f tn Once I had the 3rd one I was rushed into the operating room and had a pacemaker installed. I have been fine since the pacemaker. I had no symptoms and no sensation of something happening. Only after I was revived by medical staff did I know anything had happened. This is a VERY serious diagnosis and you must inform others in case there is an emergency. If you are not responded to immediately it can cause death. Seek advise from a good Cardiologist and stay on top of your heath.
Avatar n tn The hospital is now billing me for the operating room twice. I contacted my insurance company and they have requested the medical reports for this second charge and have never been sent any. My letters from my insurance company state this is a duplicate charge and tell me to ignore it. They said the facility never sent any pre-authorization form to them even though they have requested this five times. I talked with a supervisor today from the facility and she said I owe the money.
Avatar f tn How many people are allowed in the operating room if ur having a c-section?
Avatar f tn I had fainting spells in the shower every time with my first two. I was anemic too. the doctor had me taking iron supplements twice a day and that stopped it.
Avatar f tn First of all the nurse is operating above her pay grade. She should have told you to go to the emergency room. I am speechless that she did not suggest that. I don't like Tramadol, so in my opinion you are better off without it. I was on it and I can assure you it degrades mental function. If "La-La" land is where you want to be continue on Tramadol. I believe your fainting issues can be resolved, but require an in-person evaluation by a doctor who cares.
Avatar n tn Loss of conscious in any emergency room I have every worked in mandates an overnight stay for observation. This is not the case in certain emergency rooms in Somalia and Afghanistan, and a little Island off the coast of Iceland notorious for practicing polygamy, but everywhere else, that is the drill. Clearly a neurological event took place, which seems to have been consistent with a petit mal seizure, etiology unknown.
Avatar n tn Normally an opacified posterior capsule behind the intraocular lens implant is opened with a YAG laser. If the membrane is extremely thick or opaque, it would need to be removed with a vitrectomy procedure, which is done in an operating room, not the office. However, it would be very unusual to need a vitrectomy for posterior capsule opacification.
Avatar f tn Here is the copy from my early post: I need help to understand how many more biopsies??? a little bit of history...after a mammo return - cluster calcification in the right breast-suggestion:stereotatic biopsy- I went to a breast surgeon and he did a excisional biopsy and remove two calcicfications with the results: one on top of aureola -benign, the other- right side -DCIS with high grade.
Avatar f tn The likelihood is this is not that serious, however any episode involving a loss of consciousness mandates an immediate trip to the emergency room and an in-person evaluation by an M.D. preferably a neurologist. Do not pass go. Do not collect two hundred dollars. It is absolutely positively impossible to guess the etiology. Most likely this was a simple vasovagal episode, perhaps with an element of dehydration or anemia, but we can't be sure. An MRI/MRA would be prudent. Perhaps an EEG.
Avatar n tn i had to reschedule a steroetactic biopsy because as soon as they got me in the room and i saw all the equipment and they were telling me what they were going to do i almost fainted!!!! i opted for the wait 6 months and check for changes. look at it this way, you brought some excitement to what would otherwise been a boring routine day for the staff!!!!!
415867 tn?1323365503 So far I have been fortunate to be kept out of those operating rooms but tomorrow I am scheduled to be in a room with mini c-arm for one case. Of course we have protective x-ray gowns but is that enough for me since I"m still in the beginnings of my first trimester and everything is just starting to form? I hope someone can find me some answers before tomorrow. I didn't have time at work to try and call around to see if anyone knew. Thanks!
Avatar n tn My husband and baby stayed in the operating room during my c section. They also went with me to the recovery room. The baby wasn't cleaned or taken to the nursery until a while later.
Avatar m tn I had gall bladder surgery last week and I immediately noticed this condition when I woke up in the recovery room. My theory is the light above the operating table was bright and possibly burned it's image into my eyes. Could the be the cause and is this going to be permanent?
Avatar f tn They believed she would be over 10 pounds and eveytime I would push, she would come out enough for them to see hair and they go right back up inside me. When they wheeled me down to the operating room for a c-section every emotion was going through my mind. I just wanted her to be healthy and come out already. Well my epidermal had shifted during the 35 hours of labor, so when they pushed it in the operating room, it only numbed my legs. They reset it and pushed more.
Avatar n tn Ultimately, we did not take that route because my BP is typically around 102/52 and I was concerned about fainting. Now my cardiologist says I need surgery to correct the valve within a year. Would it be wise to go on BP medication in the meantime? Would it be safe with a baseline BP of 102/52?
403255 tn?1278813266 ) The time it happens is in the last unit before school ends and our lunchtime is the hour before. I was worried and I rang my midwife and she said it could be: 1. Not enough calories for extra energy I am using - Have got some slow release carb snacks for tomorrow to keep my blood sugar up like she said. I had just eaten my lunch about ten minutes before this happen thoguh. 2.
Avatar n tn The plan is to use a coated pacemaker, and to implant it more deeply. They will use the operating room rather than a cath lab. Using the operating room supposedly reduces the likelihood of introduced infection. Deeper implantation is supposed to reduce the likelihood of bacteria from hair follicles and sebaceous glands migrating to the pacemaker located only a mm or 2 below the skin.
Avatar f tn What do these symptoms mean? Little_One1991 So my boyfriend is 61, and I have noticed-not only have I noticed, but he's told me that he has been feeling very weak, he's been very fatigued can barely get out of bed, and one day, we were taking a walk and he said his chest hurt.
Avatar f tn In March this year I fainted after getting out of bed in the middle of the night and hit my head and had to go to the emergency room for stitches. They ran blood tests and said that all was in normal range.
Avatar m tn All ophthalmologists are trained in surgery however because of the specialized nature of eye surgery none do every type of surgery some do only office ophthalmology and do no in operating room surgery
