2034625 tn?1392643292 What about the Italian MS Society? (I googled that -- all in Italian which may be a problem unless you speak Italian -- or at least enough to find the English translation button lol). Why can your family doctor only refer you to this one team? And it's okay to be overwhelmed ... really. I think there may be message boards at the Italian ms society website -- perhaps you could make connections with someone local there who could give you ideas? K.
Avatar m tn Hi to all, I'm 28 years old, and I come from Italy so sorry my english. I have strange situation but any ophthalmologists understood what's the problem (and any neurologists too). I've ghosted vison, starbursting, halos, glare, floaters (Weiss rings and partial posterior vitreous detachment too), visual snow, palinopsia and sporadic migraine aura episodes, but I conserved my vison "quantity" (so I've vision "quality" problems only).

Avatar m tn They said it was good that we did not waste any time in bringing him in. He was put on IV antibiotics and, for a while, morphine. It took five days to get the three sites to drain and for the swelling to subside sufficiently to allow him to go home.

Avatar n tn I have copied this out for you, it happens quite frequently While there are uncommon serious causes of passing out in children, the majority of fainting episodes are brought about by reasons that are neither serious nor life-threatening. The most common reason for fainting in children is called vasovagal syncope [VAY-so-VAY-gull SEENK-oh-pee). Vasovagal syncope is an abnormal reaction of the nerves to otherwise normal circumstances. These nerves dictate the heart rate and blood pressure.
Avatar f tn From the time I was 19 I have developed hives, swelling, and itching when I go into the sun. It doesn't happen every time I'm in the sun, but it's more likely to happen when the sun is shining very brightly. I've discovered that if I can get out of the sun when my skin starts to tingle and burn, the reaction is not as bad.
220090 tn?1379167187 They have been separated for many years and none of the Italians had visited here in the US before now. They are all in their 80s and frail now. Within a few minutes of arrival, the party started! The years melted away and they were all laughing and telling jokes - making fun of their sexual prowess at 80 and just having a wonderful time. I saw my mother in law smile for the first time in years!
Avatar f tn Hey everyone, I'm looking for a boys name that is Italian but not like Giovanni or something that is crazy Italian. My husband is Irish and our first born's name is Aiden. I'm Italian and would like an italian boy's name. If it's a girl it'll be Bella so the Italian is covered there. Thanks the help!
Avatar f tn I'm having a boy due Sept 27th. My husband comes from an extremely traditional italian family and i'd like to give our son an italian name as well. We're down to Agostino and Massimo. They're both very strong, manly names and we're leaning more towards Massimo. I live in NJ and I just dont want him hating his name as he gets older. What do you ladies think?

932739 tn?1244566772 Everything was fine with my labs except my glucose was a little high (109) so I cut out sugar, but yesterday for late lunch I had an italian ice that was full of sugar. I probably shocked my body as I have cut out all sugar for 2 months now, but I am losing so much weight it worries me, so I'm trying to take in more calories. Would sugar cause fainting? Diabetes runs in my family. No change in meds. I take synthroid 75mcg every morning same time.
Avatar n tn Give drayton00 your address in a PM so that he will know where to send the bill for the cost of a test he does not need.
Avatar f tn I passed out last week in the middle of cosco and almost again in Wal-Mart anyone else having or had this problem??
Avatar f tn I am 18 years old, and i keep fainting. I first fainted in the shower after not having anything to eat or drink all day, which i know is my fault. However, i have continued to faint every day since which has been about 10 days in a row. I had paramedics called out to me and had tests done like blood, egg and blood pressure. My blood was fine, i have a very fast blood rate and low blood pressure.
Avatar m tn If a person feels funny or like they may faint, the person needs to get their head down between their legs quickly to avoid fainting. People can faint from sudden drop in blood pressure. If the shower she was taking was hot, it could cause her to faint. This happened to my cousin and 911 was called. The shower was too hot for her. If she does not eat something every two hours (something small quanity) blood sugar can drop and a person can faint.
Avatar f tn I had horrible timing with my fainting spells last pregnancy. I was always really sick with morning sickness and once I passed out while on the stairs and fell down half of them. Woke up at the bottom of the stairs so confused. It's an unfortunate thing but also a bit normal. The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done.
Avatar n tn Did they test his glucose again while in ER? What scans were performed? Are you in area where there is high heat? If yes, was he well hydrated prior to going outside? I would schedule a visit with a doctor for a full health examination which should include stress testing [heart], and an A1c test to see how well he is controlling his glucose levels.
Avatar f tn I was 27 or so, and it started with a urinary tract ifection that I ignored because I could not miss work. It took a week in the hospital, and more fainting and a second trip to the hospital before I was diagnosed. I had fainted so much, vomiting, tired, etc... By the time it was diagnosed correctly, I was very sick. After the second week in the hospital, my veins were no good and I almost did not recover. Because of that, I was told that I am more likely to have recurring bouts of it.
Avatar n tn I don't know if I am in the right place for this or not, but I have been fainting since I was 13 (now 30). It used to happen for no apparent reason (not from stress) & I went through many tests (EEG, EKG, etc) before they did the tilt-table test & figured out it was when adreneline was released into my system that heart rate went up/blood pressure down. I was on nadalol (sp)?
Avatar n tn Last night I was standin in the kitchen having a cup of tea and chatting to a friend when all of a sudden I felt really tired and incredibly nauseas, my ears started ringing like i was going deaf. The room got narrow and darker and i felt like i was getting really dizziness accompanied by a sharp stabbing headache...all i could get out was 'Im really feeling sick' and i needed to lay down immediately because i felt like i was either going to puke or pass out.
Avatar n tn Cold chills can come from having the flu, or perhaps in your case with the fainting, could be something as simple as you not having enough protein to eat on a regular basis. Protein is like the wood in a fire, it burns and heats up a person. And if you ain't got no fire, you'll get cold. In addition, protein gives you energy, and if you don't have any, you can get pretty weak and light-headed. But there are many reasons why this happened to you, those are just my top two choices.
Avatar f tn I would stay in bed mama, you dont want to take a tumble if you faint again. I would still drink plenty of water too, just in case. But I would go in to see dr. if it continues...good luck mama.
