Fainting in infant

Common Questions and Answers about Fainting in infant

fainting

Avatar n tn I have copied this out for you, it happens quite frequently While there are uncommon serious causes of passing out in children, the majority of fainting episodes are brought about by reasons that are neither serious nor life-threatening. The most common reason for fainting in children is called vasovagal syncope [VAY-so-VAY-gull SEENK-oh-pee). Vasovagal syncope is an abnormal reaction of the nerves to otherwise normal circumstances. These nerves dictate the heart rate and blood pressure.
Avatar f tn From the time I was 19 I have developed hives, swelling, and itching when I go into the sun. It doesn't happen every time I'm in the sun, but it's more likely to happen when the sun is shining very brightly. I've discovered that if I can get out of the sun when my skin starts to tingle and burn, the reaction is not as bad.
Avatar f tn I would imagine that your baby is in an infant carrier, right? Well the head is laying back as they are not upright. At least that was how my infant car seat was. So Mammo is right that if the head is back, then their airway would not be blocked. Both my babies would fall asleep in the infant carrier all the time and we let them sleep. They'd fall asleep in the car and we'd just bring the infant carrier in let them continue sleeping.
Avatar f tn It'll be a little snug... But you should be able to. I fit two boosters and an infant in the back of my neon. My fingers richer pinched sometimes buckling them up cause they're so close lol... But its all good!
Avatar f tn Get someone to watch the baby (an ER is not the best place to have an infant with you because of germs) and go in. The symptoms for which you are supposed to go in are if you are filling a maxi pad an hour, or getting dizzy or fainting, or feverish. Any of those symptoms mean you should be checked.
Avatar f tn Hello I have contacted many parents who also posted that they had this same problem back in 2008? Is there anyone out there who can help us with some feedback please? Our baby began fainting or going limp for a few seconds around the age of 8 months many parents say it's due to teething but Drs disagree! It usually occurs in the morning after she has been awake for an hour after breakfast?
Avatar m tn my boy who is only 4 months old is healthy, fun and being in breast feeding yet. Unusually he hasn't pooped for the last three days.is this something we should be worried bout?
Avatar n tn A trick my Dr showed me was to feed them with room temperature formula not warmed, and while the bottle is in their mouth move their cheeks softly in a circling motion so they can continue to drink.
Avatar n tn I've had PSVT for as long as I can remember. It did happen more frequently during pregnancy, probably due to the load on the heart (increased weight and blood volume) and hormonal issues. The valsalva maneuver (holding your breath and bearing down) is a subtle thing you can do any where. A cool shower is also a vagal maneuver. Some people get relief just by splashing cold water on their face. Your heart rate is brisk but not overly fast that might cause fainting.
Avatar n tn He had a eccho and the doctor said it looked fine just a small leak in a valve but he said nothing to worry about, he had a abodominal ultrasound since he has a hernia from sternum to bellybutton and now he is to have a ct scan due to his large head size, his body has been 25th percentile and his head off the charts. One of the dr's he saw said if his head size remained large he should see a neaurologist.
Avatar n tn This could be measles. Has she been in contact with anyone that has had Measles, German Measles or Chicken Pox over the last couple of weeks? Keep her warm and give her plenty of drinks and children's pain reliever as directed on the packet if she is fretting or has a raised temperature. Chicken pox tend to have blister looking type spots after the initial red spots. Try and make sure that she does not scratch.
Avatar f tn I passed out last week in the middle of cosco and almost again in Wal-Mart anyone else having or had this problem??
Avatar f tn I am 18 years old, and i keep fainting. I first fainted in the shower after not having anything to eat or drink all day, which i know is my fault. However, i have continued to faint every day since which has been about 10 days in a row. I had paramedics called out to me and had tests done like blood, egg and blood pressure. My blood was fine, i have a very fast blood rate and low blood pressure.
Avatar m tn If a person feels funny or like they may faint, the person needs to get their head down between their legs quickly to avoid fainting. People can faint from sudden drop in blood pressure. If the shower she was taking was hot, it could cause her to faint. This happened to my cousin and 911 was called. The shower was too hot for her. If she does not eat something every two hours (something small quanity) blood sugar can drop and a person can faint.
Avatar f tn I had horrible timing with my fainting spells last pregnancy. I was always really sick with morning sickness and once I passed out while on the stairs and fell down half of them. Woke up at the bottom of the stairs so confused. It's an unfortunate thing but also a bit normal. The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done.
Avatar n tn Did they test his glucose again while in ER? What scans were performed? Are you in area where there is high heat? If yes, was he well hydrated prior to going outside? I would schedule a visit with a doctor for a full health examination which should include stress testing [heart], and an A1c test to see how well he is controlling his glucose levels.
Avatar f tn I was 27 or so, and it started with a urinary tract ifection that I ignored because I could not miss work. It took a week in the hospital, and more fainting and a second trip to the hospital before I was diagnosed. I had fainted so much, vomiting, tired, etc... By the time it was diagnosed correctly, I was very sick. After the second week in the hospital, my veins were no good and I almost did not recover. Because of that, I was told that I am more likely to have recurring bouts of it.
Avatar n tn I don't know if I am in the right place for this or not, but I have been fainting since I was 13 (now 30). It used to happen for no apparent reason (not from stress) & I went through many tests (EEG, EKG, etc) before they did the tilt-table test & figured out it was when adreneline was released into my system that heart rate went up/blood pressure down. I was on nadalol (sp)?
Avatar n tn Last night I was standin in the kitchen having a cup of tea and chatting to a friend when all of a sudden I felt really tired and incredibly nauseas, my ears started ringing like i was going deaf. The room got narrow and darker and i felt like i was getting really dizziness accompanied by a sharp stabbing headache...all i could get out was 'Im really feeling sick' and i needed to lay down immediately because i felt like i was either going to puke or pass out.
Avatar n tn Cold chills can come from having the flu, or perhaps in your case with the fainting, could be something as simple as you not having enough protein to eat on a regular basis. Protein is like the wood in a fire, it burns and heats up a person. And if you ain't got no fire, you'll get cold. In addition, protein gives you energy, and if you don't have any, you can get pretty weak and light-headed. But there are many reasons why this happened to you, those are just my top two choices.
Avatar f tn I would stay in bed mama, you dont want to take a tumble if you faint again. I would still drink plenty of water too, just in case. But I would go in to see dr. if it continues...good luck mama.
Avatar n tn t worry about it but you might mention it if you have any other type of procedure done in the future so the staff will be alert in case it might happen again. Regards ....
