Fainting in church

Common Questions and Answers about Fainting in church

fainting

Avatar f tn I have had this anxiety since I was a teenager. It first happened when we were at church, but it now happens regularly when I am confronted with certain situations. In short, I faint. I don't know why, but usually it is when I am in an uncomfotable situation (i.e. Weddings, Formal events with a lot of people, etc.)... The weird thing is, it has morphed from 'fainting in church' to 'fainting from worrying about fainting!'... Which is why it happens at large formal events.
17020225 tn?1455749597 This morning as my 11 year old daughter was standing in the bathroom getting ready for church she suddenly got a severe headache. It lasted about 10 seconds and then she fainted. Luckily I was standing by her and caught her. After 15 seconds maybe, she woke up. Then she threw up and got a nose bleed. At the hospital they said her CT scan , blood labs, urine, flu swab came back normal.ekg looked a little off one doc said, the pediatrician said it looked OK. But she is going to see a cardiologist.
Avatar f tn has anyone else have felt like almost fainting in the shower or even standing inline at the grocery stores?
Avatar f tn If the umbilical cord gets pinched will it cause u to feel short winded or light headed. I was sitting in church and all the sudden couldn't breathe. Please let me know what u think.
Avatar f tn ve been told, read about and feel in my heart tells me differently. He recommended a group at church. I asked if it was a 12 step program. He said no, it's one step..Jesus I'm really enjoying this church, but don't agree with a couple things.
Avatar f tn So I went to a Christian church today, because my mother in law invited me. I am catholic by the way. My baby was going crazy all 3 hours. I was scared because I was getting "blessed" and the guy was touching my stomach, and pushing me down shaking and all. I looked around me and everyone was falling to the ground. Then other People were running around the church they said they were drunk with joy.
175734 tn?1225134440 My family is getting ready for church and i am really really happy . I used to dread Sunday mornings b/c i would have to come up with some reason why they would have to go without me... I didnt know what i was missing. Not just what the mass teaches but more about the quality time spent with my family. It is also a great time to talk to my 7 year old about the realitys of life. I'm just so happy that i had a chance to turn this all around.
Avatar n tn That nite i went to a party and i started to feel flutters in my chest, like butterflies in your stomach when your nervous. They come and go and I can feel my heart beat.....This feels really strange, and I'm freaking out...help!
Avatar n tn I have a 12 year old and I keep fainting. Frequently, her vision goes out, so she says she's in complete darkness. My daughter's hearing goes out with it, but comes back minutes before my daughter's vision.
10247741 tn?1410487704 I am going to church tonight and I usually REALLY enjoy the service and everyone is so sweet and nice, but for the past 2 weeks all I have heard is "where is your baby" "why isn't he here yet" and I get so frustrated because it's like I answer that question 100 times one right after another. I know they mean well and are just excited but now I am over due and I just don't want to deal with the questions. Anyone have any words of encouragement?
Avatar f tn To be fair, I had fainting problems in church before pregnancy, but then it happened maybe once a year and I always knew how to avoide it by being hydrated, cool, and not too hungry. It is unavoidable now.
Avatar n tn I'm kind of just venting but I've worked in my church for many years doing all that I thought was right in the Lord and their sight. Now I'm pregnant and all the support I gave, all of the hard work just seems to be in vain. I continue to pray about it and on the inside I feel at peace about the baby and pregnancy even though my baby father and I are just engaged. But why can't people understand or at least acknowledge all I've done.. I feel so unappreciated by church folk.
Avatar n tn I have copied this out for you, it happens quite frequently While there are uncommon serious causes of passing out in children, the majority of fainting episodes are brought about by reasons that are neither serious nor life-threatening. The most common reason for fainting in children is called vasovagal syncope [VAY-so-VAY-gull SEENK-oh-pee). Vasovagal syncope is an abnormal reaction of the nerves to otherwise normal circumstances. These nerves dictate the heart rate and blood pressure.
Avatar f tn In the bible(I don't remember where) it says a church is a place where 2 or more people go to worship. If you feel judged going to a "real" church, maybe you and you fiancé can get recorded services and stay home for church.
Avatar f tn From the time I was 19 I have developed hives, swelling, and itching when I go into the sun. It doesn't happen every time I'm in the sun, but it's more likely to happen when the sun is shining very brightly. I've discovered that if I can get out of the sun when my skin starts to tingle and burn, the reaction is not as bad.
228015 tn?1223693378 Are you having enough fluid? This can cause the feeling of fainting in the warmer weather too, if you are not hydrated enough. Are your iron levels checked regularly? I kow all these things, as I have had them happen to me. Some people are more prone to this type of problem than others. I can't recall the name of it, but it has to do with the blood pressure falling due to stress to the body, like heat, dehydration etc.
1668327 tn?1303499112 It finally got really bad and the dermatologist I went to looked at it for a few seconds and said eczema, given steroid ointments for inflammation, 1 week on, 1 week off. So here comes my story. We just moved to a new home in January. In October or so, at my last home, I ran into my room and belly flopped on the bed. I felt a sudden headrush and my ears became stuffy as though I was at a high altitude.
1858622 tn?1319813203 hello I just got back from a session with a therapist I'm seeing. It was mostly a reminder of a lot of stuff I had picked up over the years myself. I can very much relate to this issue, and I see some suggestions that I would agree with and some I wouldn't. Church can be a good experience in some cases, but in other cases not. The deciding factor is what 'flavor' was created for this 'sect' and how does that impact the experience.
Avatar f tn No matter what your past or present sins are, God wants you in church to worship Him and to learn from His word. If there are people in the church that are going to gossip about you or your family, they have no right. No one is perfect and no one has arrived yet. As much as everyone would like to think that churches are perfect, they are not. No one or place, aside from God and Heaven, are perfect. People can talk trash about churches all they want. It's bound to happen.
Avatar f tn I'm 32 weeks, going through the same thing. I fainting at work 2 days ago. I work at a call center where I sit down. I think now it was just stress because I'm so so close to meeting Aidyn & all the fears of labor & how Iwill be as a mother. Praying & going to church is very much needed here too! I'm with you.
Avatar f tn I passed out last week in the middle of cosco and almost again in Wal-Mart anyone else having or had this problem??
Avatar f tn I am 18 years old, and i keep fainting. I first fainted in the shower after not having anything to eat or drink all day, which i know is my fault. However, i have continued to faint every day since which has been about 10 days in a row. I had paramedics called out to me and had tests done like blood, egg and blood pressure. My blood was fine, i have a very fast blood rate and low blood pressure.
Avatar m tn If a person feels funny or like they may faint, the person needs to get their head down between their legs quickly to avoid fainting. People can faint from sudden drop in blood pressure. If the shower she was taking was hot, it could cause her to faint. This happened to my cousin and 911 was called. The shower was too hot for her. If she does not eat something every two hours (something small quanity) blood sugar can drop and a person can faint.
Avatar f tn I had horrible timing with my fainting spells last pregnancy. I was always really sick with morning sickness and once I passed out while on the stairs and fell down half of them. Woke up at the bottom of the stairs so confused. It's an unfortunate thing but also a bit normal. The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done.
Avatar n tn Did they test his glucose again while in ER? What scans were performed? Are you in area where there is high heat? If yes, was he well hydrated prior to going outside? I would schedule a visit with a doctor for a full health examination which should include stress testing [heart], and an A1c test to see how well he is controlling his glucose levels.
Avatar f tn I was 27 or so, and it started with a urinary tract ifection that I ignored because I could not miss work. It took a week in the hospital, and more fainting and a second trip to the hospital before I was diagnosed. I had fainted so much, vomiting, tired, etc... By the time it was diagnosed correctly, I was very sick. After the second week in the hospital, my veins were no good and I almost did not recover. Because of that, I was told that I am more likely to have recurring bouts of it.
