fainting

Avatar n tn Keep peanut butter crackers on you and something to drink. I have to due to my hypoglycemia. I have always had it but it gets worse with pregnancy. I also have heard many women getting it during pregnancy and then it going away after.
Avatar n tn Hi there, I am a 36 year old single woman who has always suffered from severely painful periods that sometimes include fainting. Just yesterday it happened again. This time though, it came suddenly. No pain, no warning. I AM due to get my period but haven't gotten it yet. But, yesterday i had a sudden fainting spell followed by about 20 minutes of torturous pain. I am not on birth control and have not have kids yet... I have made an appt. with both my gyno and doctor. What is up with me?
1523917 tn?1302215871 Ok. I just recently found out that I'm hypoglycemic. I have a pretty good primary Doctor. But I want a second opinion. She said that with my hypoglycemia, I have the symptoms, but don't need medicine for it, I just need to eat every 2 to 3 hours. So, is that right? Do some hypoglycemics not need medicine to control it? Also, I'm terrified that I will go into a coma or have seizures...
Avatar n tn I agree with above posters. My daughters fainting episodes of late are vaso vagel type they think ? I keep asking about diabetes but they keep saying she would be much sicker and blood draws were done while in the hospital for the gallbladder and not even a hint of it so I rested my case yesterday. In her case, we now think they are illness related as it happened in the hosp with the gallbladder pain, etc.
Avatar n tn I have read that in the years leading up to a diagnosis of diabetes, some individuals experience the condition of hypoglycemia. Some folks have chronic hypoglycemia, in which their bodies respond to glucose with an oversupply of insulin. In others, this condition seems to be present for a while before diabetes develops. I visualize that as a time period in which the beta cells are under duress and are spurting & sputtering along, a bit out of whack.
Avatar f tn Since you have a lump in your neck rule out abnormal thyroid state as a cause of your fainting. It could also be hypoglycemia. It could also be postural hypotension, syncopal attack, anemia, diabetes, inner ear problems. You should get a endocrine specialist to look at the function of your endocrine glands and rule out anemia. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn I am 18 years old, and i keep fainting. I first fainted in the shower after not having anything to eat or drink all day, which i know is my fault. However, i have continued to faint every day since which has been about 10 days in a row. I had paramedics called out to me and had tests done like blood, egg and blood pressure. My blood was fine, i have a very fast blood rate and low blood pressure.
Avatar f tn I am 21 now and i have been suffering from blackouts/fainting since i was about 14yrs old. At first i was told by my GP that it was hormonal, then that it was something called vagesvagrel syndrome (i think thats how it's spelt). However this last few month i'm still suffering and knew it couldn't still be hormonal, i've had an ECG test done and been told i have an ectopic heart beat but this is not related to my fainting. Do you have any suggestions?
Avatar n tn I've been having fainting or dizy spells for almost a month now. Tried dinking more water and more portein like suggested for this problem, didn't help. The spells are getting more frequent and lasting longer each time. Yesterday I had one spell lasting over 30 minutes and today I had 2 that lasted over 15 minutes each within 3 hours. Does anyone have any insight or information about this?
Avatar f tn It’s taken me two years, but I think I figured out that I have reactive hypoglycemia. I’m F, 38 always been super healthy and focused on health. Right before or during my period, if I don’t eat enough or on time I get hypoglycemic. If I eat dinner too late, reactive hypoglycemia happens. It’s a horrible feeling!
Avatar n tn Headaches and fatigue, and also the vision problems could also be symptoms of hypoglycemia. You might also ask her doctor to do a glucose tolerance test to see if hypoglycemia is the problem. When my blood sugar drops too low, I do get a dry mouth, sort of like being thirsty, and hunger is often a signal that the body needs carbs. So if I were you I would make sure to check for both diabetes and hypoglycemia.
Avatar f tn I am 41 years old, when I go to have a bowel movement I have been fainting, vomiting, breaking out in sweats, my lips turn almost gray and they go numb, I am not constipated and it literally takes the life out of me, it takes at least 2 days before I am feeling like myself . Does anyone have any idea why I am doing this.
Avatar f tn It could be low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) checking it once may not be enough, maybe ask for a sugar test .Are anxious about anything ?.
Avatar f tn Due to your sugar not actually being hypoglycemic (this is below 70) it's not likely reactive hypoglycemia. Reactive hypoglycemia is your sugar dropping within 4 hours after too many carbs eaten in non-diabetics. Based on your having dumping syndrome, it's likely that it's what is causing your symptoms. It's called late dumping. It might be something you could check into. A late dumping phase may happen about 1 to 3 hours after eating.
Avatar n tn for the past year my 18 year old daughter had episodes of fainting, She has seen doctors and had tests done and still no one can tell why she is getting this. is there anything else that u recomend?
Avatar m tn Many things can cause passing out. Seizures is one of them, but diabetes, hypoglycemia, and heart problems can also cause fainting.
Avatar m tn well i have been diagnois as having hyperthyroidism since 2001 and have sinus and allergies...lately I been fainting...well if I come up from on my knees to wipping floors to a standing position i begin to feel faint numb and tingly all over my body...I have passed out ... [More] from the same thing before its like i can feel this sensation come over me and I pass out for a short will and when I awake its a sizzling sound in my ear...woundering what this possibly be...
Avatar f tn The only time that I experienced this in the past was in March following an abdominal surgery. I have a history of hypoglycemia but my blood sugar level was normal at home prior to my leaving for work and in the ER. The doctors say that my blood test results are normal. I do not want to experience this at work again. I have an appointment with a cardiologist in two days and an appointment with the neurologist at the end of the month.
Avatar n tn It was weird, it only lasted about 6 seconds but I had to really concentrate to speak. My family has a history of diabetes and hypoglycemia. Has anyone heard of low blood sugar causing slurred speech?
Avatar n tn The episodes could be due to postural hypotension (blood pressure falling with change of position), internal ear problems, cervical spondylitis, anemia, GERD, hypoglycemia or low sugar, stress and anxiety and some endocrine problems. In your case I would look at anemia, hypoglycemia, endocrine problems and GERD first. Stress and anxiety definitely add to the problem. However first get the above medical conditions excluded. GERD is common with steroids.
Avatar m tn I have been having problems for the last two years. Severe hypoglycemia, dizziness, hair loss, heart palps, fatique, fainting spells, blood pressure fluctuations, and tachycardia just to name a few. It got really bad after I had surgery two years ago. Well I mentioned adrenal Insufficiency to my doctor because I had been under a tremendous amount of major stress. Well I am now labeled a hypochondriac. Doctor's ignored me for a year.
Avatar n tn what worries me is that the last two incidents have occurred within the past six months of each other, the closest i have ever experienced two very-near-fainting episodes (cold sweats, extreme dizziness and blurred vision all coming on very suddenly)... knowing what was happening each of these times i have been able to stop from fainting by sitting down and drinking water or soda, and cold air also helps.
Avatar f tn I am not sure what caused the fainting either time. All three were completely different and the length was different as well.
