Avatar f tn My doctor told me my WBC have been continuously high for the past few years. Exactly since 2007! I was shocked! She referred me to a Hematologist for a bone marrow biopsy. I went and the Hematologist said I didn't need a bone marrow biopsy since my wbc, although high, weren't a concern. He said some people just have them on the high side. The numbers aren't high enough to cause a concern. Is this true? I've never heard of wbc being high for so long!
Avatar m tn Had bad blood tests results over 6 mos. High wbc, high calcium, high lymph, low hemoglobin, low rbc, now platelets. Hematologist was abt to do bone marrow test. Her inclination was toward leukemia but which type so we were to do the marrow biopsy. That day she ran bloodwork again. She found wbc improved significantly yet still showed anemia in blood work. Said bone marrow test not needed. I have been weak and ill for so long and in lots of pain. Dr. Said this could be anemia. I think the dr.
1448921 tn?1287789632 My second day of taking Prednisolone I had a WBC test done, my WBC were high at 13, I also had neutrophilia at 11, and very low lymphocytes. Once I stopped the steroids, a week later my WBC tests all came back normal.
Avatar n tn How often it's possible to find high WBC in a patient with acute Lyme disease (had erythema migrans, no other symptoms)? WBC=20.000. (Ht, RBC, PLT are normal.) Thanks.
Avatar m tn Hi, I just had my 19th shot. Last week my platelet was dropped to 71000 from 156000, WBC was at 2590, HGB was at 10.9 and Neurophils at 38%. So I had 2 shots of Neupogen and Mircera 100 (Epogen) as asked by my Dr. My yesterday's bloodwork came as HGB 11.5, WBC 27830 (Range 4500-11,500) , Neutrophils 88 (Range 50-70) and Platelet at 156000. When asked about the abnormality my Dr.
Avatar f tn , weakness, dizziness, near fainting spells. ive gone to my PCP who did an MRI and echo. nothing. I was surfing the web and found atrial fib. and i think this is what i have. i just thought there might be a connection with my blood disease. i am awaiting my appnmt with a cardiologist, as well as my hematologist. and i requested a holster, so i am wearing that tomorrow. but my PCP is kind of stumped and i think ive got the answer.
Avatar f tn A high WBC count indicates presence of an infection. Other causes of a high WBC count are anemia, infections, most often those caused by bacteria, inflammatory disease such as rheumatoid arthritis or allergy, leukemia etc.It is best to consult your doctor for more details and queries since he knows your medical history best. These ranges vary from lab to lab, and every lab has a different range for what’s normal.
Avatar m tn history of fever and sore throat, migrating joint pains, rash on arms and trunk, breathlessness, palpitations, chest pain, fatigue, and fainting attacks. Diagnosis is by the symptoms and raised ESR, C-Reactive protein, increased WBC count, and raised anti streptolysin O titre. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn The thing about WBC and ANC .. Neutrophils are components of WBC so if WBC is high or low ANC follows in a rough range. ANC is a bit of a refined number compared to WBC. I don't know if I'd chunk the doc over his use of one over the other unless you bring it up and he doesn't seem to have any idea what you are talking about.
489808 tn?1209049408 There has to be a reason why your WBC was high. Yes i know that indicates an infection, but what type? How are your vitamin levels? Iron, potassium, calcium, b12, vitamin D.. Just trying to grasp at anything for you. I was diangosed with vitamin b12 and vitamin D defiencency, but my doctor at the time never told me or i am assuming never tested, until i switched doctors. Now I am on a vitamin b12 daily and precription dosage of vitamin D, also had too have b12 injections.
Avatar f tn A high wbc indicates infection, not necessarily appendix.
Avatar m tn m usually pretty fatigued by the MS but not in a way that has me going to bed earlier, which has been the case. I know a high WBC count could be some scary stuff, and it's never been this high. 13000 is my next highest and that was a year and a half ago. Any thoughts?
