Avatar m tn I moved to the Lexington,KY area last year so if you could point me to an LLMD to help me sort this out I would very much appreciate it.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know of a Specialist in Kentucky for Chiari Malformation? I've been all over the internet and made many phone calls. I've come up on a couple of doctors in Lexington that have some experience with Chiari and have done decompression surgeries, but No one claims to be a "specialist". Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn We went to transplant center in Lexington, KY were he is not a candidate for a transplant, his MELD score is only a 10. He has lost all his upper mass and so very skinny, diarrhea, and some ascites but not a lot and has NO jaundice. What is going on, how can he look this sick with a MELD score of 10? Any help will be appreciated...I don't know were to go or what do....I am at a loss for words.
1298346 tn?1302701892 With my insurance, I can only see someone in my own state (ky). I asked him about the Chiari 1.5 and he informed me that there is no such thing and that it was a typo. I asked him how could it be a typo? The report is from two different doctors and it's in the paperwork 3 different times. He wouldn't even look at the MRI. I went to my family doctor to see if he would refer me to another dr.
1333384 tn?1276793904 t know of any specific docs in Lexington, Ky but I believe one of our members, Saveone, lives in the area. You might PM her and ask. Members ask for recommendations a lot and we usually refer them to the national web sites if we do not have a specific recommendation from one of our members. Below is a link to an older thread. Lulu lists two sites to check out for a new neuro.: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn My neurologist moved and my family doctor is helping me find another but it is hard to find one in my area of KY who knows Chiari - Somerset or Lexington, Kentucky. When I originally had my decompression surgery, no one told me that the symptoms could come back, so this return to misery is a trip I could have done without. Sometimes, like today when the backof my head hurts so back, it throws me into a full blown migraine with the aura and I just have to go to the Dr.
549681 tn?1229724499 OK folks, I could use a little encouragement. I'm 9 months post RAI for a toxic nodule. I thought I was doing pretty well on Levo until 2 weeks ago. I had vertigo! Pretty scary if you've never had it before. I must have looked like one of those fainting goats. Every time I sat up, I fell over backwards. It only lasted a day, but I've been dizzy ever since.
Avatar f tn How about Lexington, KY? Google shows that as a 1hr 44min drive from Barbourville. Here's a list of KY endocrinologists http://www.ratemds.com/filecache/searchResults.jsp?country=0&ddocname=&dgender=&dcity=&sid=18&dspecialty=Endocrinologist .
Avatar f tn I was actually prescribed it by a high risk OB in Lexington KY. That was not the reason you mc is it? I was always told that it can just make big babies and also the baby can come out with low blood sugar and that it is very important to just keep it in check and diet right. THey will want to give you pills to see if it will work and if not then put you on the shots but as a lst resort! I am high risk also, have had mc 5x and had 4 babies premature.
1063463 tn?1302274619 Two things I would do: 1--Go to the ILADS [dot] org website and use their referral service -- I have not used it, not sure how it works, but imagine it's still there 2--Google search something like "LLMD Lexington KY" or some other geographic description. I just did that and there were a number of posts on other websites that had comments about the Lexington area and Lyme doctors. LLMDs aren't always where you think they will be ...
Avatar f tn Sorry to bring a goat question in, but a fellow breeder and I raise meat goats. We butcher goats all the time and always check all the organs to make sure everything looks as it should. Well, the last 4 goats we did, had really enlarged soft hearts. The valve was very big. Nothing like we had ever seen.

Avatar f tn My family and I had just gotten a pair of two pygmy goats a few days ago from a nearby auction house. We got a younger goat (about 2-3 months old) and a younger adult goat (about 8 months). They are just getting used to people now and i noticed that up close, the 12-3 month old had greenish discharge coming from his nose. He's been sneezing quite a bit latley and i dont know whats wrong with the little guy! please help!
Avatar f tn Hi! Yeah..i have 3 of them. Mine live outside too.. they used to live inside..but it was just too much.. lol Mine used to live with my goats too, they were buddies. Dont have the goats anymore though.. bummer. Anyways.. thanks for replying!
Avatar f tn We used them on military bases forty years ago, particuliary around ammunition and chemical storage bunkers. A regular mower could not be used. These were often irregularly shaped high mounds. The idea was to have six foot of earth over the explosives. The goats would climb on them and keep the weeds down, which helped with security.
Avatar n tn I don't know much about pygmy goats, as we only have boer goats (a large meat goat breed). I can tell you from my experience with the boer goats, they do tend to cough occasionally regardless of their age. At least with our goats the coughing is normal and has not ever been a symptom of any health problem. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn the same way those fainting goats do before they fall over. Again, it only lasts for a few seconds so he maintains balance.

Thank you. Nancy Bailey I also have a list of medications i take if you need them, including the GI cocktal. Can not take the reglan because of side effects.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Chiari I and was decompressed in 2005 by my neurosurgeon, Dr. Stephen Kiefer, Lexington, KY. Dr. K did a wonderful job taking care of me and my symptoms were relieved for a couple of years.
Avatar f tn Also consult a general surgeon who would do a digital rectal examination and if needed a proctoscopic examination to check for anorectal lesions. He might prescribe you KY jelly for local application before passing stools. Surgical excision is done for severe cases. Take care.
