549681 tn?1229724499 OK folks, I could use a little encouragement. I'm 9 months post RAI for a toxic nodule. I thought I was doing pretty well on Levo until 2 weeks ago. I had vertigo! Pretty scary if you've never had it before. I must have looked like one of those fainting goats. Every time I sat up, I fell over backwards. It only lasted a day, but I've been dizzy ever since.
Avatar n tn Did they test his glucose again while in ER? What scans were performed? Are you in area where there is high heat? If yes, was he well hydrated prior to going outside? I would schedule a visit with a doctor for a full health examination which should include stress testing [heart], and an A1c test to see how well he is controlling his glucose levels.
Avatar n tn The last few times I was outside without any intense physical activity I experienced a numbness in my right foot followed minutes later by a blackout which would have resulted in me fainting had it not been for the fact that I have fainted before and can recognize when I am about to pass out before actually hitting the ground.
Avatar f tn Sorry to bring a goat question in, but a fellow breeder and I raise meat goats. We butcher goats all the time and always check all the organs to make sure everything looks as it should. Well, the last 4 goats we did, had really enlarged soft hearts. The valve was very big. Nothing like we had ever seen.
Avatar f tn My family and I had just gotten a pair of two pygmy goats a few days ago from a nearby auction house. We got a younger goat (about 2-3 months old) and a younger adult goat (about 8 months). They are just getting used to people now and i noticed that up close, the 12-3 month old had greenish discharge coming from his nose. He's been sneezing quite a bit latley and i dont know whats wrong with the little guy! please help!
Avatar f tn Hi! Yeah..i have 3 of them. Mine live outside too.. they used to live inside..but it was just too much.. lol Mine used to live with my goats too, they were buddies. Dont have the goats anymore though.. bummer. Anyways.. thanks for replying!
Avatar f tn We used them on military bases forty years ago, particuliary around ammunition and chemical storage bunkers. A regular mower could not be used. These were often irregularly shaped high mounds. The idea was to have six foot of earth over the explosives. The goats would climb on them and keep the weeds down, which helped with security.
Avatar n tn I don't know much about pygmy goats, as we only have boer goats (a large meat goat breed). I can tell you from my experience with the boer goats, they do tend to cough occasionally regardless of their age. At least with our goats the coughing is normal and has not ever been a symptom of any health problem. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn but mu advice is get sat down immediately that u start feeling off even if its the pavement (ive had to do this) just so u know if u faint babies okay..i used to find this was trigged by heat in my last pregnancy..this time its started later n happens less so.im.not sure why..hope u get seen soon tho..
Avatar m tn the same way those fainting goats do before they fall over. Again, it only lasts for a few seconds so he maintains balance.
Avatar f tn I have POTS too the heat can its issues with me as well. I do have a cooling vest myself and I am an adult. Your son can get prescription for one and have written in his IEP (individual Education Plan) that he can wear it. Also may help if you look into possible weekly IV saline infusions if he is symptomatic. I have found it helpful for me and I get year round. I get 2 liters weekly. Some medications may be helpful. Two good sites to look into for more information is www.
Avatar f tn Lunch meat, if you eat it heat it up first to kill bacteria. I stay away from soft cheeses even though some people say they are okay. There are some accurate lists off of Google. But your doctor will probably give you a list of everything to stay away from and what is okay. As far as foods and meds go.
Avatar f tn I am not sure what caused the fainting either time. All three were completely different and the length was different as well.
Avatar f tn JIC thought I should add that as a child and teen I often had heat strokes and sometimes fainted as a result. This went away in my early 20s. This fainting is a little different, I don't get the cold sweat or "tunnel" hearing that I did with the heat strokes and it happens much faster now.
Avatar f tn You can have deli meat as long as you heat it up first until it's steamy, so it will kill any bacteria that it may have. I think you can have up to two servings of fish like tuna a week. Other than that, just eat mainly healthy, fruits, veggies, grains, meat & beans, and lots of dairy. And of course prenatal vitamins everyday lol.
Avatar f tn Does it only happen in the kitchen? It's probably the heat from the cooking food. Try opening a window or have a fan nearby. Sometimes I feel faint if I'm overheated.
1534233 tn?1523388856 - 45 mins is too long in a bath, especially if you are sensitive to the heat and your blood vessels expand. I take a bath for only 10 mins and then go straight and lie down for 5 mins. Part of life and the differences of our make up.
Avatar f tn Generally the fainting is due to anemia or vaso-vagal attack following low blood volume. Please drink plenty of fluids during this time. Get your hemoglobin level checked. Take a good multivitamin for a few months. Consult a gynecologist. Sometimes a hormone therapy is needed to control the painful heavy periods. At times it is due to endometriosis, ovarian cysts or uterine fibroids. In some cases it is hereditary. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
492869 tn?1285018933 With the frequent fainting episodes often associated with Autonomic Dysfunction, I'd appreciate some insight from the community on how to prevent injuries. I, (like many here I'd assume), have had multiple head injuries resulting from my faints. I've fallen into furniture, down flights of stairs, etc. It's a concern of mine, even more so after my most recent head injury. Last summer a couple of us posted ideas about tolerating the summertime heat.
Avatar n tn t go to your head like it should while youre pregnant and can cause dizziness. My doctor said to always call if I have fainted or go to the e.r. also the heat from the shower and or dehydration, and high blood pressure (or way to low blood pressure) and a sudden rise or drop in blood sugar can all cause dizziness/fainting. I would at least call your doctor and let them know what happened even if you arent going to the e.r.
Avatar f tn IT has been known for ages that it increases blood flow and will decrease the pain. I use peppermint goats milk lotion and its a life saver! Cheap and worth it!!
976897 tn?1379167602 The genes for producing the protein to make silk in spiders has been found and spliced into goats. The milk produced by the goats contains lots of the protein so the silk can be produced in large quantities. Why? well the silk is the strongest thing in nature or made by humans. It can be used to repair tendons for example. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. You can use online software and create your own dna.
Avatar n tn Each time he has been doing physical activities, but only one of them was out in the heat. The first time he was having to complete an obstacle course (he is a detention officer). His coworkers told him that his eyes rolled back in his head and he was convulsing. My husband does not remember this at all. The second time happened at the gym. He called me a little upset because he woke up sitting on the bench in the locker room and does not remember anything.
1166767 tn?1315427171 My question is could it be working without AC in this heat (90+ degrees) what made me feel like fainting?
Avatar n tn I have actually done the same thing my brother has snakes. Anyways my mouse lived but I used goats milk and dipped a paint brush into it and let her suck off the milk.she loved it. Also make sure to put a heat pad under their cage.after each feeding make sure to rub their tummy/private are with a q-tip dipped in warm water. For more info I have watched vids in YouTube from a lady with a channel called Creek valley critters.
11119474 tn?1428702170 //www.webmd.com/first-aid/understanding-heat-related-illness-symptoms The Uhthoff's sign is similar in a way to heat exhaustion but Uhthoff's is generally a temporarily return or worsening of an MSers symptoms when their temperature raises, even as little as 1/2 a degree and then once cooled and rested, they go back to their normal again but depending on the amount of heat exposure, it can literally take hours and hours to recover from just the fatigue...
Avatar f tn Otherwise, healthy with no family history or sudden death or fainting. I was put in Nadolol only take 10mg for now for my prolonged QTc on some of my ecg till I see An EP at Mayo. Also waiting to do genetic testing. I was heading out yesterday and started to feel a bit lightheaded and I sat down. Then heat started in my head and chest. I checked my pulse for about 3 seconds and there was no beat. I started to freak out and then I felt it. But I really though I was going to die.
