549681 tn?1229724499 OK folks, I could use a little encouragement. I'm 9 months post RAI for a toxic nodule. I thought I was doing pretty well on Levo until 2 weeks ago. I had vertigo! Pretty scary if you've never had it before. I must have looked like one of those fainting goats. Every time I sat up, I fell over backwards. It only lasted a day, but I've been dizzy ever since.
1401215 tn?1376423242 We have an appointment this week at Duke. I could use any info you have about Duke and resouerces in the area.
Avatar f tn Sorry to bring a goat question in, but a fellow breeder and I raise meat goats. We butcher goats all the time and always check all the organs to make sure everything looks as it should. Well, the last 4 goats we did, had really enlarged soft hearts. The valve was very big. Nothing like we had ever seen.
Avatar f tn My family and I had just gotten a pair of two pygmy goats a few days ago from a nearby auction house. We got a younger goat (about 2-3 months old) and a younger adult goat (about 8 months). They are just getting used to people now and i noticed that up close, the 12-3 month old had greenish discharge coming from his nose. He's been sneezing quite a bit latley and i dont know whats wrong with the little guy! please help!
Avatar f tn Hi! Yeah..i have 3 of them. Mine live outside too.. they used to live inside..but it was just too much.. lol Mine used to live with my goats too, they were buddies. Dont have the goats anymore though.. bummer. Anyways.. thanks for replying!
Avatar f tn We used them on military bases forty years ago, particuliary around ammunition and chemical storage bunkers. A regular mower could not be used. These were often irregularly shaped high mounds. The idea was to have six foot of earth over the explosives. The goats would climb on them and keep the weeds down, which helped with security.
Avatar n tn I don't know much about pygmy goats, as we only have boer goats (a large meat goat breed). I can tell you from my experience with the boer goats, they do tend to cough occasionally regardless of their age. At least with our goats the coughing is normal and has not ever been a symptom of any health problem. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn the same way those fainting goats do before they fall over. Again, it only lasts for a few seconds so he maintains balance.
Avatar f tn hmmm I seem to recall someone going to Duke but do not recall the outcome, u can use the search this community for Duke Unv and see what threads pop up..... and mayb someone will see this and respond.....
Avatar f tn If anyone knows pros or cons with Duke please share as well. I live an hour away so Duke is convenient but I definitely will travel if it makes the difference. Thanks for sharing!
Avatar f tn IT has been known for ages that it increases blood flow and will decrease the pain. I use peppermint goats milk lotion and its a life saver! Cheap and worth it!!
976897 tn?1379167602 The genes for producing the protein to make silk in spiders has been found and spliced into goats. The milk produced by the goats contains lots of the protein so the silk can be produced in large quantities. Why? well the silk is the strongest thing in nature or made by humans. It can be used to repair tendons for example. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. You can use online software and create your own dna.
438063 tn?1235362773 It started when I had two fainting spells in one day. After the second one I felt weird and had a splitting headache, my left side was heavy and numb and then noticed I made no sence when I talked. My husband was scared and call EMS.
1086746 tn?1288624389 I'm headed to Duke next week . I have bleeding from veins in my brain, and MS. I will be going to the Clinic IL Neuroscience Center. Dr Skeen. Has anyone here been to or know of anyone who has? Any experiences you can share with me about Duke, the Neuroscience Center, or Dr Skeen? Thanks HVAC for what you have shared. :) I maybe see you up there if all goes well with my ride. After my last Doc visit, I'm struggling with dread about going to another although I have no choice!!
667078 tn?1316000935 I not only have to pay the Doctor, but I also will have to pay a hospital bill since the clinic is owned by Duke. This is the first I heard of this. This means every Neurology visit will be hundreds of dollars on top of the Doctor bill. The reason sited is efficiency. You pay more for a better run health care system? Of course I quit Duke ten years ago for primary care when my out patient clinic physical was $3,000 with out a mammogram. Oh well it is only money.
875426 tn?1325528416 I had an endocrinologist decide that he was referring me back to my GP with the recommendation that I see a "super specialist" at Vanderbilt or Duke. My insurance now covers Vanderbilt, but doesn't cover Duke. Anybody know a neuroendocrinologist at Vanderbilt that they can recommend?
Avatar f tn Has anyone used the Dr at Duke that is on the list, Gerald Grant?, He is the only one I have found so far that is considered a Ped. Neurosurgeon, but does he specialize in Chiari? Our Neurologist is sending our info to a ped Neurosurgeon at the Childrens Hospital. HOw do I find out if he honestly knows what he is doin? Regardless I will get second opinion.
Avatar f tn AND the meat itself had like individual strands of the goats fur so I'm scared if the goat licked itself and the saliva got everywhere. May have eaten it since I didn't have time to take those off one by one.
Avatar f tn com/id/39552862/ But subjects of PowerPoint presentation about her escapades call it harassment Karen Owen took kiss-and-tell to a whole new level when she combined her Duke University-honed academic acumen with her extracurricular wild side to create an elaborate sex list ranking the college men she bedded.
Avatar f tn I know I can head up to Chapel Hill or Duke but was hoping to stay closer to home. Thanks for your help!
11928406 tn?1431049111 might be a Weird question but is it safe to drink goats milk while pregnant?
Avatar n tn The risk of listeria in soft cheeses and raw milk has me scared.
667078 tn?1316000935 JJ, I told Alex earlier that if Duke would take her as a patient, I would root for Duke for a year. Most of us root against Duke Blue Devils, mainly because we are jealous that they get the top talent and have a great coach and program. I am so happy that Duke has taken Alex in for care.
Avatar f tn His favourite food is muscles (which I had once in a restaurant) and goats cheese (again had on a couple of occasions!) Planning on doing the same with this one, have had one date night since 12 weeks and enjoyed a goats cheese tart!
667078 tn?1316000935 I never thought to ask about percentage. I am holding on until Tuesday and hope Duke will take over my care. This Doctor was not going to see me for six months after my surgery. Who does surgery and does not talk to the patient afterwards for six months? If I had not demanded to see him I would still think I had little chance of beating this thing until our appointment in the Fall. I am so glad it is a better outcome. I am so sick on chemo and it is easier if you know you have a good chance.
Avatar f tn Goats milk is really comparable to breastmilk honestly I don't like formula it stinks and makes babies throw up more and stains. Goats milk is natural and a little more expensive if you can find it.
