fainting goats duke

OK folks, I could use a little encouragement. I'm 9 months post RAI for a toxic nodule. I thought I was doing pretty well on Levo until 2 weeks ago. I had vertigo! Pretty scary if you've never had it before. I must have looked like one of those fainting goats. Every time I sat up, I fell over backwards. It only lasted a day, but I've been dizzy ever since.

We have an appointment this week at Duke. I could use any info you have about Duke and resouerces in the area.

Sorry to bring a goat question in, but a fellow breeder and I raise meat goats. We butcher goats all the time and always check all the organs to make sure everything looks as it should. Well, the last 4 goats we did, had really enlarged soft hearts. The valve was very big. Nothing like we had ever seen.

My family and I had just gotten a pair of two pygmy goats a few days ago from a nearby auction house. We got a younger goat (about 2-3 months old) and a younger adult goat (about 8 months). They are just getting used to people now and i noticed that up close, the 12-3 month old had greenish discharge coming from his nose. He's been sneezing quite a bit latley and i dont know whats wrong with the little guy! please help!

We used them on military bases forty years ago, particuliary around ammunition and chemical storage bunkers. A regular mower could not be used. These were often irregularly shaped high mounds. The idea was to have six foot of earth over the explosives. The goats would climb on them and keep the weeds down, which helped with security.

I don't know much about pygmy goats, as we only have boer goats (a large meat goat breed). I can tell you from my experience with the boer goats, they do tend to cough occasionally regardless of their age. At least with our goats the coughing is normal and has not ever been a symptom of any health problem. Hope this helps.

hmmm I seem to recall someone going to Duke but do not recall the outcome, u can use the search this community for Duke Unv and see what threads pop up..... and mayb someone will see this and respond.....

If anyone knows pros or cons with Duke please share as well. I live an hour away so Duke is convenient but I definitely will travel if it makes the difference. Thanks for sharing!

I not only have to pay the Doctor, but I also will have to pay a hospital bill since the clinic is owned by Duke. This is the first I heard of this. This means every Neurology visit will be hundreds of dollars on top of the Doctor bill. The reason sited is efficiency. You pay more for a better run health care system? Of course I quit Duke ten years ago for primary care when my out patient clinic physical was $3,000 with out a mammogram. Oh well it is only money.

I had an endocrinologist decide that he was referring me back to my GP with the recommendation that I see a "super specialist" at Vanderbilt or Duke. My insurance now covers Vanderbilt, but doesn't cover Duke. Anybody know a neuroendocrinologist at Vanderbilt that they can recommend?

Has anyone used the Dr at Duke that is on the list, Gerald Grant?, He is the only one I have found so far that is considered a Ped. Neurosurgeon, but does he specialize in Chiari? Our Neurologist is sending our info to a ped Neurosurgeon at the Childrens Hospital. HOw do I find out if he honestly knows what he is doin? Regardless I will get second opinion.

AND the meat itself had like individual strands of the goats fur so I'm scared if the goat licked itself and the saliva got everywhere. May have eaten it since I didn't have time to take those off one by one.

JJ, I told Alex earlier that if Duke would take her as a patient, I would root for Duke for a year. Most of us root against Duke Blue Devils, mainly because we are jealous that they get the top talent and have a great coach and program. I am so happy that Duke has taken Alex in for care.

His favourite food is muscles (which I had once in a restaurant) and goats cheese (again had on a couple of occasions!) Planning on doing the same with this one, have had one date night since 12 weeks and enjoyed a goats cheese tart!

Goats milk is really comparable to breastmilk honestly I don't like formula it stinks and makes babies throw up more and stains. Goats milk is natural and a little more expensive if you can find it.
