Avatar f tn Anbody already been diagnosed with this? It runs in my family, and I'm shaky and fainting if I don't eat after any exertion or two hourly. Does gestational diabetes have similar symptoms to normal type 2???
Avatar f tn I agree to go to like a medexpress or urgent care. This happened to me several times with my first pregnancy and my doctor told me it's something that I should call about and be seen right away. It could be a problem with blood pressure, blood sugar or a sign of something else. That said, with me it was a problem with blood sugar levels. Drinking lots of water, eating steadily all day with plenty of healthy calories, and not overdoing my activity mostly resolved it.
Avatar f tn are you pregnant or trying? fainting is something that i guess is common in early pregnancy. other than that i would say stay very hydrated and keep cool. hot weather can take a toll on ones body.

290867 tn?1333569278 Hey ladies! Another pregnancy question! I am 6 weeks and have been having dry mouth all the time and at night hotand cold spells. It's odd because I have never had these before. Avatar f tn Has anyone passed out while pregnant? I had a scare the other day at work. I'm 17 weeks pregnant and it's my first pregnancy. I went to the ER and they ran a bunch of tests and made sure the babies heart beat was ok. The conclusion was that I was dehydrated. Drinking more fluids especially water is so important during pregnancy. They said it's really important to listen to your body. If you need to rest than rest. Lesson learned.

I know its not low blood pressure because I've had preeclamplsia through both pregnancies but interestingly my iron levels have been really low particularly this pregnancy. I had an iron infusion last week and haven't fainted since. Maybe get your iron checked?

Avatar f tn The weakness and dizziness and even fainting is normal early in pregnancy because of all the changing hormones. Your body kind of freaks out. But if yiur concerned, talk to your doc. You really shouldn't stand on your feet for so many hours without a break. You need about 4 5 min breaks sitting down throughout your shift.

Avatar f tn I had horrible timing with my fainting spells last pregnancy. I was always really sick with morning sickness and once I passed out while on the stairs and fell down half of them. Woke up at the bottom of the stairs so confused. It's an unfortunate thing but also a bit normal. The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done.
