fainting

Avatar n tn Hello patient915 , No bleeding before or after the fainting. Both times just stood up, took a couple of steps and went down. When I fainted first in November the doctor said it could be do to my medication for HBP. I decided to lose some weight to try to get off. In January I fainted again. This time I fractured my leg and tore my ACL requiring surgery.(Surgery was in April.) Doctor still wasn't concerned with the fainting.

Avatar m tn Aortic stenosis - if you have no problems with blood pressure, or symptoms of fainting or near fainting spells, this wouldn't be an issue. The description "mild" likely refers to early changes - it may produce some problems in the next 5 to 10 years, best watch your blood pressure. Mitral regurgitation - not likely a player.

Avatar n tn My son collapsed on 13 March 08 before getting ready for school while I was talking to him. He is 11 yrs old and nothing like this has ever happened before. I thought he had a seizure, his eyes never moved or closed-he stared straight ahead-pupils dilated. His heart was racing but he was not breathing and non responsive. We called 911 and gave him rescue breaths. Once admitted to peds they did 2 ECG's or EKG's and one came back abnormal, one boarderline for LQTS.

917177 tn?1243354247 Is it normal for one to experience lightheadedness and fainting during menstruation? It's happened to me so many times before, typically as soon as my period/cramping starts I'll feel lightheaded, sweaty, and I'll fall to the floor and sit with my head on my knees. Occasionally this happens in the shower, or upon standing up if i wake up with my period, or even if it starts while I'm seated during a class.

She works as a CNA (certified nurse assistant) caring for elderly people in thier homes. She doesn't live at home. My question is about her work, how long she may need to be off -she is independant and has no sub at this time, so we need to arrange this or she will have to quit.

Avatar f tn Has anyone passed out while pregnant? I had a scare the other day at work. I'm 17 weeks pregnant and it's my first pregnancy. I went to the ER and they ran a bunch of tests and made sure the babies heart beat was ok. The conclusion was that I was dehydrated. Drinking more fluids especially water is so important during pregnancy. They said it's really important to listen to your body. If you need to rest than rest. Lesson learned.

I know its not low blood pressure because I've had preeclamplsia through both pregnancies but interestingly my iron levels have been really low particularly this pregnancy. I had an iron infusion last week and haven't fainted since. Maybe get your iron checked?
Avatar n tn Ultimately, we did not take that route because my BP is typically around 102/52 and I was concerned about fainting. Now my cardiologist says I need surgery to correct the valve within a year. Would it be wise to go on BP medication in the meantime? Would it be safe with a baseline BP of 102/52?
