Fainting blood needles

Common Questions and Answers about Fainting blood needles

fainting

Avatar m tn In my experience it is not abnormal for males to faint at the sight of blood or a needle. We use to always watch the male in cases of blood or needles. It seemed the bigger, stronger appearing males were more likely to faint in these situations. If at all possible make sure you are in a sitting position and place you head between your knees before they even get the needle out. Distraction can help. I agree with the physician and with jamlws that suggested you consult your physician.
Avatar n tn I don't know if I am in the right place for this or not, but I have been fainting since I was 13 (now 30). It used to happen for no apparent reason (not from stress) & I went through many tests (EEG, EKG, etc) before they did the tilt-table test & figured out it was when adreneline was released into my system that heart rate went up/blood pressure down. I was on nadalol (sp)?
Avatar m tn My mother has had bouts of fainting and light headedness. Sometimes they come weekly and other times not for 2 months. This has been going on since 2007. She has been admitted to hospital on a number of occasions but each time they have not come to any conclusions as to a diagnosis. These attacks of light headedness last 2-5 minutes. She slurs her speech, gets pins and needles in her arms, and sometimes but not always faints.
Avatar f tn The older I became I began having seizures along with fainting when I had blood work done. The neurologist ran a EEG on me and found nothing wrong other than an extra transmitter in the brain triggered by stress. Still have seizures when I have blood work done. I have tried to control it but have not been able to. Your husband has similar symptoms to mine and I am very healthy also. Luckily, I am always in good hands when I have a seizure....doctors and nurses right there.
2013201 tn?1330148875 I have done this I think ... I felt like I was on a cloud and falling but wasn't trying to stop myself, thank goodness someone was in front of me to catch me. I don't know if this is the same thing you are having I didn't really concentrate or whether I could see or not. I really don't think I have ever heard of anything like this either but there have been some strange things happen with people who have migraines but you state you haven't had those.

Avatar f tn I looked away and tried to think about something else because I can't stand needles or see in the blood leave through it. The had trouble with my vain too so they kept having to move it around. But look away and try to breath and stay relaxed. Afterword I got a hug and kiss from baby daddy cause I didn't cry!
Avatar f tn I haven't done a lot of exercise in the past few years. Recently, I joined a softball team for the first time in 5 years. The first practice that we had, we stretched, ran to the fence and back, and then threw the ball back and forth. Immediately following throwing, I felt very light-headed and sick to my stomach. I ended up vomiting.

Avatar f tn I'm 11 weeks and I have been continously fainting at work. I'll lose my vision and hearing and just completely pass out. They keep telling me it's because I'm dehydrated but I'm drinking plenty of water and Gatorade and my blood pressure is very low. No one will really look more into it. I am very scared for my health and about losing my job over it. Please help.
Avatar n tn Possible low blood sugar or fluctuating sugar levels ,if you faint a loyt need to have it checked out at your Doctor .
Avatar m tn He came to and was ok until they did a blood sugar test. He is terrified of needles and such. He passed out again and this time his heart stopped. They had to do cpr about 4 times before getting him to the hospital. They did and EKG and echocardiogram. They told him that this was all due to the anxiety and stress, prescribed Xanax and sent him with instructions to not get stressed. He is to follow up with a cardiologist. Can this actually stop a person's heart from beating?

Avatar f tn I had paramedics called out to me and had tests done like blood, egg and blood pressure. My blood was fine, i have a very fast blood rate and low blood pressure. Before i faint, my heart starts to race and first aiders have counted my pulse and has come to 114 per minute. I can feel my heart rate pulsing really fast before i faint, and i also get very clammy hands.
Avatar f tn so 2day I went for blood work and the tech had everything set up by time I went I nto the room..so I I asked her to use a butterfly needle and she said no because my veins were good..anyway she grabbed what I thnk was a straight needle.. I looked and she pulled a pink lever down drew my blood then flipped the pink piece back up..I never seen one of these needles so now my ocd is in effect...if she were to use the same needle on someone before me what would be the chances of getting hiv..
Avatar f tn So im terrified of needles and i know imma pass out when i go to the doctors is there anyone else that has or had this problem?
Avatar m tn I think maybe you have eye problem. Try to consult any optometrist.
Avatar f tn I always psych myself out when I know I need to get blood drawn. Epidural seems so scary. Do you still notice the needle from the epidural when you're in so much pain from contractions?
Avatar f tn s something that I should call about and be seen right away. It could be a problem with blood pressure, blood sugar or a sign of something else. That said, with me it was a problem with blood sugar levels. Drinking lots of water, eating steadily all day with plenty of healthy calories, and not overdoing my activity mostly resolved it. And my baby was totally healthy and actually really strong. It was just me having the problem. So your baby could be fine.
Avatar f tn I had horrible timing with my fainting spells last pregnancy. I was always really sick with morning sickness and once I passed out while on the stairs and fell down half of them. Woke up at the bottom of the stairs so confused. It's an unfortunate thing but also a bit normal. The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done.
Avatar f tn Are you drinking enough as I feel faint when I am dehydrated. Did they do any blood tests to see if you are lacking in anything or if your sugar levels are off?
