Common Questions and Answers about Fainting and what to do

fainting

Avatar m tn Hi, I would go to the emergency right now! Do not hesitate to go, after all this is an emergency case you are in! Take things with you for overnight. I don’t know about your hospital, but here in Canada they might just keep you in for a couple of days. I wasn’t passing out, but felt awful, and the next test I had a date for was about 2 weeks from the day I went in to the emergency, They asked how I was feeling, I said: 'like I was dying' ! They were ordering that test right away.
Avatar n tn t felt like fainting since January, but during my 3 episodes I never felt any palpitations or heart sensations. Fainting and heart stuff never occurred together. When I felt about to faint, I was around people and always thought that it might happen which suggests it could be anxiety, but maybe I'm just explaining my symptoms.
Avatar f tn Which I am sure is normal. I had these studies because I was having what I percieved to be near fainting spells...(which they think it is related to my newly aquired anxiety.) With all these EF numbers, which is my correct EF? Do you see anything out of the ordinary with these results and where should I go from here if anywhere? Will these "skips" ever stop?
Avatar m tn A while a go, we found that she kept having absent seizures and fainting from time to time. We brought her to the hospital, but they didn't know what it was. No one did. A month passed and her condition changed. She still had absent seizures, but, now, she awoke from them in an awfully woozy manner. She wasn't acting like herself and she didn't remember anything after that. After another month it got much, much worse. She's getting large scale hallucinations, now, very often.
Avatar n tn getting headaches and blurry vision it can be a sign of high blood pressure. Also make sure when u stand up that u do it slowly and dont get up quickly cuz that can also make u dizzy.
Avatar f tn I'm nineteen yrs. old and I was being active with my boyfriend at the time when he thrusted on me and I felt this most excruciating pain. Long story short, after fainting on my boyfriend and being in pain for hours I ended up in the hospital(ER). The doctor told me I had a ruptured cyst. Could my boyfriend have been able to make it rupture?? These past few days I have had no appetite, every time I do eat I feel nausea, and I get tired when walking long periods of time.
450898 tn?1205588049 the next time you are fainting and throwing up blood, please go to the Emergency Room, as you are more likely to get the testing you need if the doctors can see your symptoms while they are happening.

Avatar f tn Take your time!! I definitely understand how pain can dictate what we're able to get done in a day, and how important it is to listen to our bodies when we're getting those pain signals. I'll be right here whenever you're able to respond ... no rush! I hope your pain eases up and that this weekend is better for you! Best, -Heiferly.

1198696 tn?1265299699 There are different types of Autonomic Dysfunction (sometimes referred to as Dysautonomia). All four of my kids as well as my hubby has it. It affects each individual differently but I would encourage you to learn all you can about it. Neurocardiogenic Syncope usually occurs in response to stimuli-such as pain, fear etc. Your heart rate elevates and your system kicks in and says 'slow down'. The system slows it down too much and it can cause you to pass out.
Avatar m tn He just seems to want to stick a tube down my throat, but everytime i get it done, he says good news everything looks great, not exactly what i want to hear. My husband feels that alot of my stomach issues are due to my nerves and stress. I have to say that it has gotten worse over the years and am now on an anti anxiety medication after much pain and denial.
Avatar f tn OK this is quite long winded but bear with me. I should say that I am seeing my GP for this and am waiting for a appointment to see an ENT Consultant but wanted some opinions. I'm 22 years old, female. No health problems or allergies but obese. Approximately 6 weeks ago I had the usual Winter sinus congestion that everyone gets, my ears were blocked and so was my nose.
Avatar f tn On top of that, i have trouble consentrating, my speaking is slurred, and have trouble pronoucing sentences, and often forget what im about to say, and my memory has become terrible. i also sometimes see black blurred shapes in the corner of my eyes. Another thing i have noticed is that i have a small lump under my left eye lid, it isnt red or sore, so i know it isnt a stye, plus ive had it for about 2 months now. if anyone could perhaps give me a piece of mind or help to what may be going on??
Avatar m tn This is a post from my two others. I've gotten help out of those two but I was hoping if I got some more answers. So recently my friend has fainted, which was a very scary thing. It happened once in October but had no signs since therefore she did not go to the doctor because she thought there was no sense into doing so. But after this faint she has been worrying. Her cycle came a few days later after the fall, does this have to do with anything?
Avatar f tn I am 53 and in menopause and I have actually fainted now while driving. My heart was racing and I had a hot flash and then I lost consciousness for 3 or 4 seconds. Went off the road, through a fence and into a field. Very luckily, no one was hurt. This happened a year ago. Had tons of tests done on my heart, blood work, etc. Nothing found. Now, a year later, I'm starting to get the dizzy spells again (not vertigo though, I've had that before).
Avatar f tn I have fainted a few times. Now what I do is when I start to feel lightheaded and dizzy, just kneel down to the grown. For some reason being low to the ground helps me..
Avatar f tn Matter of fact, it's still being added to. Read it here http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Multiple-Sclerosis/Near-fainting-spells/show/1377376 GMV, nice to have you here while you wait. Your story sounds WAY too familiar to me. My own journey to diagnosis (which came one year ago tomorrow) can be found in summary form on my profile page. So you're from Texas? Born and raised there? I'm thinking you might become a resource to help me understand the Aggie I married.
