Common Questions and Answers about Fainting and vomiting symptoms

fainting

Avatar m tn Yes, my mom has been vomiting everyday for about a month and a half and has fainted during the middle of the day, in the shower, while walking, and in the middle of the night. She just did it again a few minutes ago, so I gave her some ginger ale a water and aspirin and she is now resting (under my close watch). Please anyone out there if you can help please respond. I can't only have one parent.
Avatar f tn Sounds like Vasovagal Syncope. Secondly, have you been to a physician after this last episode? Any medications ever prescribed for this?
Avatar n tn The sudden weight loss, which is a significant amount and should have raised some red flags was apparently simply ignored? Fainting and sudden weight loss are seldom. IF EVER, symptoms of an inner ear infection. Go find another doctor who actually went to medical school. The ER was on the right track to do an MRI, but when that came back clear, what? They ALSO just sent you home? Where do you live for crying out loud? You absolutely need to get a second...........
Avatar f tn lightheadedness, disorientation, low blood pressure, and fainting. Over the years my symptoms have grown to also include: nausea, vomiting, high/low heart rate, low respiratory rate, low blood sugar, extreme fatigue, non-epileptic seizures, etc. As for helpful treatments, we've posted some possible treatments in our health pages which may be helpful. What are your specific symptoms, and what have you tried?
Avatar n tn I did accept my third drink from a guy who left and gave it me on his way out but my fainting and vomiting dont seem to be normal symptoms of drink spiking. Also I passed out only 10 minutes or so after drinking only half of that drink. Should I be worried or see my doctor at this stage or do people just faint sometimes?????
Avatar n tn Drinking water seemed to help rid me of the seemingly pattern of fainting and regaining consciousness and it happened on two nonconsecutive days both the same situation, the element of heat outside being a possible factor, and the lack of any overpowering physical activity.
Avatar n tn For the past few weeks I have been experiencing a combination of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness/fainting. But this past week the symptoms have worsened. I still have the same symptoms but the vomiting has gotten worse (so bad that eating and sleeping through the night is almost impossible). Some smells seem to trigger the feeling of nausea. And along with that I've had a hightened fever, and oddly constant belching.
Avatar f tn IF the pain has resolved, I would think that it would be OK for you to wait and see if it comes back or if you develop other symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. If the pain persists or if these other symptoms arise then it really needs to be evaluated as it could be something serious such as appendicitis, ovarian cyst, etc. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Her symptoms are chest pain, dizziness, occassional fainting spells, headache, abdominal pain, and of course constant vomiting. Doctors have no idea what is wrong with my daughter, and have discharged her although her symptoms are still as bad as ever. It is only 1 p.m. here, and she has already vomited 23 times. She has had no change in lifestyle , or any recent trauma, under no stress...we truly believe that whatever this is is a physical medical problem, and not psychological.
Avatar f tn 2nd day of vomiting and fainting. Tried to call ob and he's not working til tomorrow. Tried to call on-call ob and no answer. Called the hospital and they told me I probably have a virus and they don't want me infecting the other pregnant women! Too bad my bp keeps spiking and I've already been diagnosed with preeclamplsia. What am I supposed to do now?
Avatar f tn rapid heart rate upon standing, low or high blood pressure, dizziness, fainting, fatigue, sweating, anxiety-like symptoms, headaches, shortness of breath, inability to exercise, nausea, vomiting, digestion problems, etc. The symptoms are endless and vary person to person day to day. Very few doctors are familiar with this illness and often misdiagnose patients. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Avatar f tn I was sick and vomiting all night. I got up this morning to go to work and could barely walk from the dizziness. I don't know what is going on, but I don't like it. My question is how do some of you know when it is time to go the hospital? I have wondered this for a while. I haven't gone for any of my problems except pain. Last week I got to hurting so bad that I had to go get something for the pain. Hope everyone else is doing better.
Avatar f tn Me too but with nausea, night swears, fever 38.5, vomiting, diarrhea, fainting, sore lymph nodes, sore muscles, list 2.
1600646 tn?1297895872 Vomiting blood, deterioration of vital signs, and loss of consciousness are other symptoms. If you have any of these symptoms and have increased pain to severe pain in the area, you should definitely go to your docotr or if you feel that the symptoms have been persistent for at least 48-72hours my suggestion would be to go to an ER. Its better to know what going on or causing this pain.
Avatar f tn I was 27 or so, and it started with a urinary tract ifection that I ignored because I could not miss work. It took a week in the hospital, and more fainting and a second trip to the hospital before I was diagnosed. I had fainted so much, vomiting, tired, etc... By the time it was diagnosed correctly, I was very sick. After the second week in the hospital, my veins were no good and I almost did not recover. Because of that, I was told that I am more likely to have recurring bouts of it.
Avatar f tn Several of the types of fainting you describe—nearly passing out from pain, almost passing out from vomiting, and fainting from shock—are forms of vasovagal syncope that are generally considered to be episodic and not representative of an underlying pathology per se.

1504138 tn?1289518617 Whenever I have an episode I have shortness of breath, rapid heart rate, sweaty palms and feet, ringing in the ears, blurred and/or loss of vision, shaking all over, my arms and legs draw up, loss of voluntary movement, loss of speech, and sometimes vomiting. I've never had an episode while in a doctor's care, so they cannot know for sure what it is. They think it is some kind of seizure.
