Common Questions and Answers about Fainting and vision loss

fainting

Avatar n tn Before i faint and when i know im going to faint the first thing is my hearing goes totally away or muffled, then i start to get tunnel vision. my hands get really shaky, i break out in a bad sweat and my chest feel like it is being squeezed so hard my breathing gets fast. By that time if i sit down and concentrate on my breathing, which is really rapid by then, it will go away in about 30 seconds. I get the headaches, loss of balance and the chest pain a whole lot more than anything else.
Avatar f tn This headache is accompanied by various neurological symptoms such as dizziness, numbness, loss of vision, loss of hearing etc, all of which are temporary. Hypothyroidism, hypoparathyroidism, adrenal insufficiency are a few things I would recommend you get investigated for. These can precipitate BIH. A spinal tap is a must both to diagnose the condition and to treat it. Sinusitis is another cause of morning headaches. It could also be cluster headache, migraine, or tension headache.
1504138 tn?1289518617 Whenever I have an episode I have shortness of breath, rapid heart rate, sweaty palms and feet, ringing in the ears, blurred and/or loss of vision, shaking all over, my arms and legs draw up, loss of voluntary movement, loss of speech, and sometimes vomiting. I've never had an episode while in a doctor's care, so they cannot know for sure what it is. They think it is some kind of seizure.

I told this to my doctor a few times and they checked my blood pressure because my husband mentioned maybe its hypoglecimia . The doctor didnt really have an answer and told me my blood pressure was fine.
Avatar f tn I am sorry to hear of your pinched nerve and feelings of faintness. I have a trapped sciatic nerve but have no symptoms of lightheadedness or fainting associated with the nerve itself. I am also a former runner and skiier and climber and have a lower blood pressure from my conditioning, but as I got older I developed hypoglycemia where if I eat high carb foods I almost pass out shortly after eating them....
1249564 tn?1269313663 I know bcuz I had both...passing out u know u r going out...u get that static sound and snow like vision....and u go out. A drop attack is totally diff in that u could be standing and the next moment u r aware u r falling but can not respond.....what happens is the signals going from teh brain to all ur extremities gets blocked for a second or two and returns so u go out but so quickly u r unaware u were out....
Avatar f tn I am a 19 years old female and I have migraines with aura, and I've had them since I was 14 years old. Recently I've started having fainting spells with black outs, loss of hearing, shortness of breath, tunnel vision and severe SEVERE dizziness. The first time i fainted, i couldn't hear anything and my vision got blurry, hit my head hard on the desk as I fell while getting out of bed to get some water. Two days later, I had a migraine episode, the worst ever.

However, he has not been given any vitamins and no medicines for cleaning/washing of his stomach (bowels) for quite a few years now. However, he plays games on the computer for quite a few hours at a stretch. What could be the reason for his fainting and what is the remedy for the same ? Your response will be much appreciated soonest. Thank you.
Avatar f tn A Year ago when I used to exercise everyday I used to feel really tired and unusual afterwards, Out of a sudden I would feel severe spinning in my head, like a fainting episode with tunnel vision and sweating, headache, nausea and dizziness - then I would stop exercising and have to lay down because I would feel extremely tired. Back then it used to happen only when I exercised, Now this episodes happens everyday (even without exercising).
Avatar n tn My symptom list is so long that I frequently get brushed off as a hypochondriac. I get frequent headaches, joint pain, muscle spasms and twitching, nervousness, unprovoked anxiety attacks, vision loss (and I'm starting to go a little colorblind), fainting, difficulty sleeping, irregular heartbeat and fluttering, mood swings, disorientation, weakness, jumpiness, weakness and fatigue....plus all the trouble I have with my stomach on a daily basis.
2013201 tn?1330148875 I have had about four spells, only one accompanied by involuntary spasms, where I have fainted (lost my vision and my ability to move, lost muscle control and fallen, unable to breathe during this time, and also with pins and needles all over my body) but I am still conscious and can hear / feel / understand what is going on around me. I have only found one person who has experienced something similar via Google, but nobody had an answer for her.

Avatar f tn I'm 11 weeks and I have been continously fainting at work. I'll lose my vision and hearing and just completely pass out. They keep telling me it's because I'm dehydrated but I'm drinking plenty of water and Gatorade and my blood pressure is very low. No one will really look more into it. I am very scared for my health and about losing my job over it. Please help.
1159208 tn?1262603396 I still suffer really bad headaches, dizziness, fainting, ear lose, breathing problems, lose vision and many more. I have had many blood tests, all coming back negative, Ive had head scans, heart monitors and according to all of this I am one healthy lady. But I know for a fact that I am not, yesterday I was that light headed that i got a nose bleed,(which I think is why I got one) seeming how I never get nose bleeds.
Avatar f tn Headaches, blurry vision and fainting are common symptoms of a pituitary lesion. An MRI should be able to detect this. Unknown food allergies can contribute to severe migraines. A registered nutritionist can do testing to find a cause.
Avatar m tn I have been dealing with syncope, migraines, and numbness in the left side of my body for a year and a half now, I get sudden sharp pains in my fingers and bottom of my foot and toes. I get spikes and drops in my blood pressure and will have anywhere from 1-20 syncope episodes a day. I am frequently dizzy and sometimes lose my vision for a few minutes a day as well as my left side mobility. Literaly my left side gets stiff and weak.
Avatar n tn Sometimes I feel my heart almost stop and beat very hard and slow (but does this maybe 3 times a month), even causing my vision to go away for a couple of seconds and come back along with a constricting feeling in my neck and throbbing in my head. I visited a family doctor who said it was nothing and happens to everyone? Should I get a second opinion? Thank you!
Avatar f tn I am 2 months and the other day I was at work and out of nowhere I started feeling nauseous and then my vision began to go black. I immediately jetted to the backroom and sat down. By that time I was running into things couldn't see and couldn't hear at all. I came very close to passing out but didn't and went home to rest. Is this normal? Should I be worried?

Avatar n tn Today it happened in a long line at the store, I was waiting about 10 minutes in line and I started getting woozy and weak and my vision started to black out. I made it to a chair and fanned myself for a few minutes and it took a while to go away. Is this normal? I've heard of the dizziness being common, but my vision really starts to turn black and I get light headed. Both times I have had plenty of fluids and protien in my system so its not that.
Avatar n tn About 8 years ago when in the shower, I came over all hot and clammy and my vision blurred, eventually my vision was blacked and I ended up passing out. This has happened since over the years, once on holiday, when I was in a lift. Over the passed year the condition has got worse and i have become reliant on carrying a bottle with me. I have informed the doctor and had several blood tests but nothing was found. I also had an ECG and everything was normal.
