Avatar f tn Recently during a catch up with family I fainted. Over the previous two hours I had about 4 standard drinks. I had a small meal just before I started drinking. Granted it wasn't a large meal but it was still food. My cousin told me I had a "seizure" when I but I haven't had a chance since then to really talk to him.
Avatar f tn This also is known to cause muscle twitching and tremor along with abdominal cramps and other dehydration symptoms. I would suggest that you consult a PCP first to assess your nutritional status and systemic evaluation to check for any deficiencies. Appropriate therapy following diagnosis would correct these twitching. If diagnosis rules out gastrointestinal system, you must see the neurologist. Wish you all the best and take care.
Avatar n tn For example, I can sit down for about ten minutes and get up normally, not fast at all, and walk about twenty feet and all of a sudden I feel pressure in the front of my head and my vision starts to get cloudy and partially black (about 3/4). The pounding in my head usually lingers for about a half hour after I regain vision, but my vision is still a bit blurred for about 5-10 minutes afterwards. Also, lately, I've noticed that I've been twitching.

Avatar n tn Loss of consciousness, twitching of muscles are a common feature of the syncope. The patient gets a feeling of warmth and sweats before fainting. Dizziness may occur. Please go for an MRI of the brain and a tilt stress test or postural stress test to find out the cause. If the jerks or shakiness is excessive, it could be epilepsy. It may be ruled out by the MRI which shows increased electrical activity in the brain in case of seizures.
Avatar n tn Hello all, I have been diagnosed with Generalized anxiety disorder and bipolar disorder, but I have been struggling for months with appetite problems, rapid weight loss, decreased vision, muscle spasms and twitching, headaches, and just about every other symptom of hyperthyroidism, but when I went to the doctor last (a few months ago when it all began) they took a blood sample to check and said that my levels of whatever they check for were normal.

623871 tn?1221745301 Sometimes I wake up soaked with sweat and totally wiped out and worry that I may actually be having fainting episodes at night as well as during the day. Iam currently pregnant and many tests cannot be done as such as a bdoy scan and follow up MRI because I haven't had one in over a year. The issue I have is there seems to be no trigger causing my fainting spells it doesn't occur during pain or sickness or stress it just occurs a lot and with no specific cause.

Avatar f tn My brother is taking 250mg of seroquel and 20mg of celexa, in addition to many other meds for tourettes, seizures and severe mental illness. For the past two years, he has been experiencing drop attacks. Lately, I've noticed his eyes twitching after fainting. He has been worked up for cardiac disease and had a 24 hr eeg but nothing has been found abnormal. Can these two drugs be the culprit. I read somewhere, they interfere with eachothers actions.

2132141 tn?1335678074 I have heard of urination syncope, where the vagal nerve (10th cranial nerve) gets over stimulated during urination and causes reduced heart rate, sweating, flushing, nausea, and even fainting (a vasovagal response can be triggered by several different things...take a look at Wikipedia's page on Vasovagal Response.) also, you might look up urination syncope... It is usually benign, but it can also have an underlying medical condition that needs to be looked at.
Avatar n tn It is also much, much more prominent on my right arm (some on left) and on the under (palm) side. I can have prominent jerks and twitching, also - sometimes I can be doing it a lot and then for a while go with almost none. I have just had 3 nasty falls for no apparent reason (not balance, fainting, blacking out, or age - I’m 58.) I do have severe peripheral neuropathy but that doesn’t cause this. I’m under the care of a neurologist and I just underwent my 1st EEG and my 3rd MRI.

Avatar m tn Another test that is commonly used is a Holter monitor which is basically a recorded EKG over a period of 1-3 days. The information is then downloaded and evaluated for evidence of any irregularities -- and has the advantage of catching symptoms that occur only sporadically. This is also very helpful if you are having symptoms, which can be correlated to any irregularities caught on the recording strip.
