Fainting and the flu

Common Questions and Answers about Fainting and the flu

fainting

Avatar n tn Cold chills can come from having the flu, or perhaps in your case with the fainting, could be something as simple as you not having enough protein to eat on a regular basis. Protein is like the wood in a fire, it burns and heats up a person. And if you ain't got no fire, you'll get cold. In addition, protein gives you energy, and if you don't have any, you can get pretty weak and light-headed. But there are many reasons why this happened to you, those are just my top two choices.
Avatar f tn It's been two days and a half that my husband is sick, he had a fever and he thought that he just have a flu,but now its been many times he passed out for several seconds right after he feels like fainting, he hasn't eaten any solid food yet because his stomach is upset and afraid he will vomit.
Avatar f tn So it is likely fluids accumulated slowly, and the pericardium (sac surrounding the heart) may have and is stretched enough to accommodate it without symptoms and the signs and symptoms may not occurred until a large amount of fluid collects over time. But a rapid fluid accumulation...even if the fluid amount is relatively small...can severely impair the function of the heart.
Avatar f tn Similarly if you have a small infection in the ear you might not feel any other symptoms to do with ear infection - some people skip the pain in the ear or the cold/flu like symptoms. Try sitting still and suddenly turning your head sharply to the right - if it takes a long time for the room to stop spinning then this could be the issue.
Avatar f tn 1.5 months ago, I started experiencing my heart pounding and racing right after taking over the counter diuretics (Pamabrom) for a few days. The palpitations occurred everyday and I would have these palpitations several hours at a time. Since then, I've done EKGs, an echocardiogram, event monitor, and holter monitor. The cardiologists say that they found nothing concerning despite 2 occasions when my heart rate went well above 130 bpm.
Avatar n tn I am 52, and pretty close to menopause, and I understand that the flutters and such can get worse during this time, geesh, I sure hope not, they scare me so much. I also notice that when I have a cold they act up. A double whammy.
Avatar n tn 1 in nov 10 had 2 blood transfusions and fibroid removal in jan 11. Still not well hot swollen joints hand and feet. fainting spells and flu like symptoms on and off for months.
Avatar n tn On the lighter side, it could just be starting of viral flu. It could be food poisoning and stomach infection. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!

Avatar n tn • Tell the doctor what happened, the date and time it happened, and when the vaccination was given. • Ask your provider to report the reaction by filing a Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) form. Or you can file this report through the VAERS website at http://www.vaers.hhs.gov, or by calling 1-800-822-7967.
Avatar f tn He spent the rest of the night intermittently vomiting (2-3 more times) and had a headache and was complaining he was cold. His stomach has been upset all daytogay but he has managed to keep down a few English muffins. He ate prior to this happening so I don’t think it is hypoglycemia. They also had not even received their drinks at the bar yet before this happened, so he was sober.
17020225 tn?1455749597 Then she threw up and got a nose bleed. At the hospital they said her CT scan , blood labs, urine, flu swab came back normal.ekg looked a little off one doc said, the pediatrician said it looked OK. But she is going to see a cardiologist. However the fainting they say was probably a vasovagal syncope thing. She's never passed out before or had such a bad headache.
Avatar f tn So I had a pretty serious run in this weekend. After a night of doing a fair amount of coke (like 7/8 lines over 6 hours) and drinking a fair amount (probably 4/5 drinks over that same period) I was out and about feeling tired and little bit funny. I stopped to get some food and I fainted. I've never fainted before and it was really really scary (enough to make me flush what I had left down the toilet).
Avatar m tn dizziness upon standing or bending over and driving. pain and pressure in the ears~ the ears, vision, and balance all get worse if i have drank the night before. also no matter how much i drink i get horrible hangovers i have never experienced before. flu-like pain constantly in the low back down the legs to my feet, flu like feeling in my tongue. pain in the shoulders that sometimes shoots up my face then feels like the side of my neck is pulling my facial muscles down.
Avatar f tn I recommend it. Our immune systems are so weak while pregnant and there's not much we can safely take if we do catch the flu. I got the flu shot last month and had no complications. I've also gotten the flu shot the last 3 years with no problems. I've never had the flu before.
Avatar n tn I also have anxiety problems and adult add. I am on lexapro and take adderrall during the school year. I went to the ER again a few days later because I was feeling the same signs of when I fainted, like uncomfortable tingling in my arms and chest area, as well as kind of dizzy, and very panic-like. It turns out, it had nothing to with my heart or blood pressure, I was just really wound up and it really effected me, but I felt like something was physically and medically wrong.
Avatar f tn Since it does not always happen, go back to the few episodes and see what the trigger was. Try and avoid the trigger which may be as simple as standing up suddenly on an empty stomach. Sit down immediately and place your head between the knees. Let the episode pass. Also this needs a detailed evaluation of heart and nervous system. A tilt table test, holter monitor, echocardiogram etc are done for confirmed diagnosis.

Avatar f tn I stopped fainting/feeling faint after that. Before the fainting spells, though, I also took an annual flu shot (I've taken it the year before in 2018, as well, and had no issues). My blood glucose levels were within normal limits (although they were all taken when I felt no palpitations and several hours after eating). Tests for my thyroid (including TSH, thyroglobulin, free T3, free T4, T3, T4) all came back normal.
Avatar n tn I had the swine flu last week which kept me in bed most of the week. I've been dealing with PVC/PAC for the last year pretty much every day. The interesting thing was for about 3 days during my flu I was PVC free. Why would this be. I was super sick with the flu but was releived to have a 3 day break from the ectopics. It fealt great! Well, unfortunately the ectopics came back. I was hoping the flu killed them but unfortunately it didn't. Why did they cease during this 3 day break.
Avatar n tn It was not but my dr. decided to get blood and check her whitel blood cell count. The nurse did the finger ***** method and squeezed for a long time to get enough blood. As soon as she finished my daughter said she was dizzy, then her body slumped to her left side and she had a minor seizure. It lasted only about 30 seconds and she just jerked lightly.
Avatar f tn Given the Vagus Nerve controls both impulses sent to the body related to blow flow, and pitch correction, would changing the quality and consistency of my singing regime help the overall blood flow and circulation in my body?
