Fainting and periods

Common Questions and Answers about Fainting and periods

fainting

Avatar f tn I would definitely talk to my doctor fainting doesnt sound normal and make sure you're keeping your fluid intake up.
Avatar f tn I had horrible timing with my fainting spells last pregnancy. I was always really sick with morning sickness and once I passed out while on the stairs and fell down half of them. Woke up at the bottom of the stairs so confused. It's an unfortunate thing but also a bit normal. The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done.
Avatar n tn Hi there, I am a 36 year old single woman who has always suffered from severely painful periods that sometimes include fainting. Just yesterday it happened again. This time though, it came suddenly. No pain, no warning. I AM due to get my period but haven't gotten it yet. But, yesterday i had a sudden fainting spell followed by about 20 minutes of torturous pain. I am not on birth control and have not have kids yet... I have made an appt. with both my gyno and doctor. What is up with me?
Avatar f tn My doctor said it could be a combination of the medication and heavy periods.
917177 tn?1243354247 Is it normal for one to experience lightheadedness and fainting during menstruation? It's happened to me so many times before, typically as soon as my period/cramping starts I'll feel lightheaded, sweaty, and I'll fall to the floor and sit with my head on my knees. Occasionally this happens in the shower, or upon standing up if i wake up with my period, or even if it starts while I'm seated during a class.
Avatar n tn Heavy periods, darker hair on legs and arms, acne. before puberty she has had fainting spells, nausea, cold sweats and gets pale. She is getting worse witht the fainting, nausea, cold sweats as she gets older. She has been to doctor on top of doctor. They found that she has mthfr heterozygous but said this is not a problem. Her heart doctor has recently said she has sinus tachycardia. The meds he put her on for this is causeing chest pain and shortness of breath.
Avatar f tn d certainly address the situation as having two possibilities, anemia and pain, with the anemia causing the fainting and the pain coming from the cramping.
Avatar n tn My biggest concern is the dizziness and fainting and incredible fatigue. The fatigue has gotten worse over the years but my sleep apnea is managed well with CPAP and nothing else ever seemed wrong physically so I have just dealt with it by making sure I get plenty of rest and strictly pacing my activity level. My sense is something is not right but none of the tests seem all that unusual. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what might be up with this?
Avatar m tn This is a post from my two others. I've gotten help out of those two but I was hoping if I got some more answers. So recently my friend has fainted, which was a very scary thing. It happened once in October but had no signs since therefore she did not go to the doctor because she thought there was no sense into doing so. But after this faint she has been worrying. Her cycle came a few days later after the fall, does this have to do with anything?
Avatar f tn It has been going on for over 1 year. Lately I have been fainting and falling alot (very embarrising since I am in High School). Just recently I have also been getting severe leg and back cramps/spasms. I am having a hard time sleeping at night getting only about 3 to 4 hours of sleep. This has also been going on for over 1 year. I have seen several doctors, who have run MRI's, CAT scans and they all have done blood work. Everything always comes up normal.
Avatar f tn s severe, because you will have a hard time walking and nothing will make sense. I have periods of low blood sugar and what happens to me is I start feeling light headedness, have a hard time thinking, and have a hard time focusing on anything. If I were to let it go on without eating, I would black out and hear echoing of voices but not lose consciousness which happened when I was fifteen in school.
Avatar n tn That used to happen to me a LOT when I was your age. I was tall and thin, and didn't drink enough fluids to keep from being dehydrated. I'd also go long periods without eating. Any of those can cause you to have fainting episodes. I was also really bad about feeling faint if I stood up too quickly from having been laying down or sitting. It went away by the time I was in my early twenties. I was told, by several different professionals, that it's not all that uncommon.
Avatar m tn Each episode has 5-6 of these bouts of panic, vomitting and fainting then needing to sleep and the whole ordeal lasts for approx. 7 hours (during which I have to sleep). Afterwards I feel a little 'hungover' (kind of fuzzy-feeling) but otherwise able to function pretty normally. This happens around the same date of every month even though my periods are not consistent. Have had blood work and CT scan and both were normal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
364288 tn?1300144506 It used to happen to me all the time. Ugh. I found out it was because I had pregnancy anemia.
Avatar f tn From personal experience, I had the same fainting and heavy periods as a teen. I had anemia which caused the fainting and heavy bleeding. She definitely needs blood work. Putting her on birth control to lessen the periods and a good multivitamin with iron would benefit her greatly. Good luck and I wish her the best. I sympathize with her!!!!
Avatar m tn It can happen when wake from sleep as during sleep blood pressure is usually very low and sudden standing and walking might not instantly trigger nervous system to raise bp or raise heart rate (to reach blood to brain). if both of these won't kick in fast lightheadness and even fainting can occur. Fainting is body's natural way to reach more blood to brain as when lying flat on ground heart and brain on same level. There is tip to reduce it.
Avatar f tn first i feel dizzy and naseous , then i start sweating and get really hot. Also i get cold sweats , then i faint. The second time was in grade 9 , and again i fainted but in class this time and they sent me to my doctor. I had a blood test and urine test and they didn't find anything wrong with me. So now i get scared when i get my period and its super heavy the first days , then gets lighter and lasts 7 days usually. Any ideas what this is?
Avatar n tn another way this happens if is i go out at night - hence i am dancing and again up for long periods of time i have to sit down otherwise get serious pain. I also cannot drink alcohol because i also get this pain and have also had fainting spells from this. Other ways this can happen is from over-exercising or simply not getting enough sleep! huge problem so please any help is appreciated.
671285 tn?1292660161 ve only been experiencing this feeling around my periods the last 6 months and in fact was telling somebody last night how sick/dizzy/faint I felt and then this morning I started. Hmmmm, not sure what's going on but just wanted to let you know you're not alone! Chips and cookies lol, I love them, especially this time of the month! Hopefully you figure out what's going on, if anything.
Avatar m tn By this time I was too tired by running and decided to walk the rest of the way. The cramps go worse and worse in a span of about three minutes and then I had to call my boyfriend to pick me up because the pain was so intense I could not walk anymore. I sat on the side of the road writhing in pain because there was nothing I else I could do. When my man got me, I hopped into the car and told him that I was either going to throw up or pass out because the pain was still increasing.

Avatar f tn i'm a virgin, but i still enjoyed some pleasures. My ex and i used to do some sexual stuff without an actual penetration. we did the whole rubbing on, shower together, and oral sex. One time while were together we did the whole rubbing and i know for a fact that he came a lil bit. Even though i was wearing my underwear it worries me that something might had been able to go through.
Avatar n tn She came to almost immediately and said she felt fine. Just prior to fainting she had been sleeping for about 12 hours and also had had nothing to eat or drink for close to 14 hours. When we took her to the ER they found that her QT was 459. The next day the EKG was repeated and was 441. The pediatric cardiologist who read it called the second reading 'high normal" What is the probablility with this faint and with these numbers that she has long qt? I am terrified of course.
Avatar n tn I have now been put on coumadin and Lopressor and feel tired and worn out. I had started an exercise program and was feeling good and losing weight. I will continue to exercise but who knows how long I will be on these meds. Good luck w/ your symptoms & best of health.
