Fainting and perimenopause

Common Questions and Answers about Fainting and perimenopause

fainting

Avatar f tn Most of her symptoms can probably be chalked up to perimenopause except I've never heard of fainting related to the hormonal changes of perimenopause. And of course it's the most concerning. Iron deficiency can certainly cause problems including dizziness and feeling cold but I don't think fainting is one. Some of her symptoms could be an indication of a thyroid problem. Thyroid disease is fairly common and more so as we move toward or undergo menopause.
Avatar f tn m curious if anyone has experience with hormone imbalance (HI) related to perimenopause, and if the sometimes erratic symptoms of HI could include the symptoms I've described? Thanks!
Avatar f tn You mean morning sickness, right? Yes, I am 51, perimenopausal, and have had this for just about a year. Somedays, it lasts all day.
Avatar m tn My old next door neighbour had her period for 7 months straight, kept fainting, and was in constant pain before they finally said that they would help her. They sent her to the hospital for iron therapy twice a day. She's still waiting ( after a year ) to try and get in for a hysterectomy. Anyway...good luck. We ALL need it. lol!
Avatar f tn s it declines more rapidly until it ceases. During perimenopause our hormone levels (Estrogen, Progesterone, and Testosterone) decrease, and ovulation slowly begins to come to an end... If you're interested in becoming pregnant, my advice would be to start keeping track of your ovulation and menstrual cycles now. Also consult your Ob/Gyn if you have any concerns. The healthier and better shape you're in will definitely influence any possible pregnancy and transition into menopause...
Avatar f tn Im also having bad headaches and bad palpitations too (worse before my period), the thing is, ive had the usual heart test and hormones checked and all is normal! How would pcos afect my hormones and does it make a difference in perimenopause? Please can someone enlighten me or give me advice as i am at my wits end as my gp says it is stress and wont entertain the thought of peri.
Avatar f tn I am 39 and had perimenopausal symptoms, too, as well as an FSH of 15. I got pregnant naturally and easily. Don't let the doctors scare you. I'd keep trying a couple more months -- but without any stress: I think no stress is the key to my pregnancy (I thought I couldn't have kids so I had given up) and to others I know. Good luck!
1398693 tn?1343684738 ve started perimenopause I saw a midwife ( no gynocologysts was avalible ) about it and I was fobbed off and I was told to take ibuprofen and I told her that I've tried that along with everything on the market and I was told to take ibuprofen before I get my monthly and to come back in 9 mos. Since I can't get help from a doctor ( or anybody else in the medical community ) does anyone have any ideas of how I can stop this pain?

Avatar n tn I am 43 and I been experiencing almost all of the samethings. I feel like my menstral is on but it's not.
377493 tn?1356502149 Ok ladies. I know nothing about this topic and really need to know what you think. I have always been a 28 day girl. For as long as I have been tracking ovulation, I o around day 13 or 14. Some of you know from my last post that I have started having strong symptoms around ovulation...sore breasts, bloating, crabby..lol, etc. This month those symptoms lasted right up until I got AF. Today is cycle day 3, they went away yesterday completely.
594293 tn?1222655980 old mother of 2 (my youngest is 10). I began menstrating just after my 9th birthday. I have been having the following symptoms: lightheadedness (sometimes it lasts for days), feeling jittery or nervous, mood swings, chills, nausea, change in appetite and bowel habits, irregular periods (still monthly though).....that's the majority of it. It had not even occurred to me that it could be perimenopause until a few weeks ago.
864502 tn?1382640699 I was told a couple of months ago that I am going through perimenopause. I have irregular cycles. My 1st cycle was when I was 15 years old. I had one cycle in September and it did not come back the next month. I took birth control pills when I was 16....The 1st set of pills made me gain weight and the 2nd set made me sick. So now my cycles are 2-5 years apart. The last cycle I had was in May 2007.

Avatar f tn Im 51 next month and get lot of missed periods, like missing 2 or 3 months. Is this perimenopause?
Avatar f tn I would have your estrogen checked. Your pituitary gland could be slowing your FSH levels. That is what I'm going through. I'm in perimenopause. Estrogen of 16 and FSH is .3. Not 3 but .3.
203342 tn?1328737207 It looks like I've entered Perimenopause a few months ago, at least, judging by how erratic my periods are being now and after talking to a doctor. Now I have another unpleasant side effect. I noticed last month and this month (around the time of my period) I have been getting one to two pimples in a cluster on my chin. No where else, just there! I never got pimples much during my teenage years, just the occasional one or two pimples, but not a full blown acne on my face.
988694 tn?1332359479 I have visited two GYN and they both have told me that I am not in perimenopause according to one progesterone and estrogen test. I am not yet 40, but a yer ago I started to have chronic migraines almost every day, spotting before my period (usually the week before), change in my taste, insomnia, anxiety, and lately some urgency to go to the bathroom. I think that I have had one hot flash that I thought was the result of a large dose of vitamin D I had to take.
Avatar n tn I am 48, generally in good health, no daily medications except my vitamin/mineral supplements I've been taking for the past 10 years. I follow a strict diet with no added sugar or white flour. However, in the past two months, I have gained 18 pounds, feel anxious a lot with waves of extreme dread and am even finding lesions on my scalp. I had a blood test done and my Gyn, but she said I'm not in menopause yet. She did not offer any solution other than a "live with it" attitude.
203342 tn?1328737207 My question is, is this pretty normal for Perimenopause and can I take a wait and see approach before doing any invasive procedures? It doesn't even appear they are concerned about cancer, anyway, and I understand that's what this biopsy would be for. Would a regular Pap smear suffice for now?
Avatar f tn They have stuff for vaginal dryness, and cooling pads and pillows for night sweats. MS and perimenopause are separate issues many women have both because we are women and are eventually going to go through the change.
Avatar f tn I am officially in perimenopause at 44, unfortunatly I think you are also in perimmenopause and begining to skip periods now. All those prego symptoms you are feeling ar also perimenopausal symptoms also. You can find all kinds of great books on Peri / menopause good luck!

Avatar f tn I am 49 just started experiencing perimenopause symptoms- hot flashes and night sweats. I never missed a period unless pregnant in the past. I now have missed two periods, have pregnancy symptoms including a swelling tummy and feel pregnant. I did take a hpt and it was negative but that is not new to me. I had 22 tests including two blood tests when expecting my oldest child and all were negative while i was pregnant. I had a tubal 15 years ago, i do have only one usable tube.
