Fainting and not eating

Common Questions and Answers about Fainting and not eating

fainting

Avatar n tn You can ask for ambulatory (24 hour) blood pressure monitoring as a test for this, or you can get your own cuff at home and check up on your blood pressures before, during, and after meals and show your doctor if you do indeed have a drop in blood pressure that correlates with your dizziness and fainting spells after eating. If you are having syncope at times other than just after eating, tilt table testing may also be warranted.
Avatar f tn t go away so I went to stand up to open the bathroom door to let some fresh air in, and as soon as I stood up my vision got really blurred and I slowly fell down and I could not move. thank God for my dog licking my face to keep me conscious enough to get up. Is this normal?I am 8 weeks pregnant.
Avatar n tn She also vomited everything she ate. Now, she does not vomit, but has the pain and the pseudoseizues. My question is which angle should we pursue? The doctors she has seen have referred her to psych., but my sister believes it is physical based on her medical history.
Avatar f tn Also eat fresh fruits bec the release sugar slowly and will help you as well.
Avatar f tn That said, with me it was a problem with blood sugar levels. Drinking lots of water, eating steadily all day with plenty of healthy calories, and not overdoing my activity mostly resolved it. And my baby was totally healthy and actually really strong. It was just me having the problem. So your baby could be fine.
Avatar n tn drink plenty of extra water, get plenty of exercise, and eat some fiber foods each day like oat cereal, whole grain bread, vegies and salads. Also, try to not skip or go too light on any meals, try to stop eating before you're completely full, and get enough protein.
Avatar f tn I periodically check my blood sugar and it is good. I have had cat scans in the past for this and EKGs, and everything seemed fine at the time. I recently had knee surgery and was told that my EKG didn't look good, but was okay enough to do surgery. I live in a rural community and my doctor is at a loss as to why these happen. I have my thyroid check via blood test every year and have had only 1 scan and that was about 15 years ago.
Avatar f tn I am 53 and in menopause and I have actually fainted now while driving. My heart was racing and I had a hot flash and then I lost consciousness for 3 or 4 seconds. Went off the road, through a fence and into a field. Very luckily, no one was hurt. This happened a year ago. Had tons of tests done on my heart, blood work, etc. Nothing found. Now, a year later, I'm starting to get the dizzy spells again (not vertigo though, I've had that before).
Avatar f tn Yes!
Avatar m tn Yesterday I spent all day inside on the couch, being very inactive. I was not hungry at all and barely had anything to eat, but I felt fine. Today I had plans to go for a run and I know from experience that if I don't eat and drink well before exercising I easily get dizzy and feel close to fainting. So naturally I made sure to eat plenty this morning to avoid this. However, I became pretty nauseous and had to throw up.
Avatar f tn I has been quite hot where I live lately and I feel like when I am outside and not in the a/c I feel faint as well, but if it has been a consistent problem and you do not feel it's weather related, I would definitely seek the opinion of a doctor. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!!!
Avatar m tn home, but still buying food from the same shops as parents, the pain occured even more often, the sugar level started to fall to 70, often after eating I am sleepy, got joints pain, hunger just after a big meal (bigger then before eating), feeling weak, dizzy, fainting at least once and pancreas pain same time. Faeces problem since a year. A lot of intestine gases additionally. On one occasion I have been eating a normal meal in the city, I was feeling like going to faint.
Avatar f tn I went in the shower and felt faint, called for my Mum and after a few seconds I did actually faint and lose consciousness. For the next few weeks I was feeling really tired all the time, nauseated and getting bouts of dizziness so I basically spent weeks in bed. Due to being so inactive and hardly eating I ended up in hospital for 5 days with painful impacted constipation.
Avatar f tn The PPI Prevacid definitely helps my irregular beats. My primary care doc says it "quiets down" the vagus nerve. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I don't know if I am in the right place for this or not, but I have been fainting since I was 13 (now 30). It used to happen for no apparent reason (not from stress) & I went through many tests (EEG, EKG, etc) before they did the tilt-table test & figured out it was when adreneline was released into my system that heart rate went up/blood pressure down. I was on nadalol (sp)?
Avatar f tn I was 27 or so, and it started with a urinary tract ifection that I ignored because I could not miss work. It took a week in the hospital, and more fainting and a second trip to the hospital before I was diagnosed. I had fainted so much, vomiting, tired, etc... By the time it was diagnosed correctly, I was very sick. After the second week in the hospital, my veins were no good and I almost did not recover. Because of that, I was told that I am more likely to have recurring bouts of it.
Avatar n tn it mainly happens when i wake up in the morning when i sit up in bed i black out and loose my balance so i lay back down for about a min or two and im able to get up just fine the weird thing is i have not been sick in the last three years and i dont get headaches but it is to the point that im worried that something might be wrong with my iron because the last two weeks i have not been eating properly i am going to have my doc take a look on monday and draw blood to see if it is my iron if you
Avatar m tn This is a post from my two others. I've gotten help out of those two but I was hoping if I got some more answers. So recently my friend has fainted, which was a very scary thing. It happened once in October but had no signs since therefore she did not go to the doctor because she thought there was no sense into doing so. But after this faint she has been worrying. Her cycle came a few days later after the fall, does this have to do with anything?
10131590 tn?1408165341 Blood pressure. Or sugars.. happens to me often- for unknown reasons (when im wasn't pregnant). Try having some soft drink and see if that helps.
Avatar f tn I suspected the fainting is from my poor eating habits or lack of iron though? Im not sure if those could contribute to the headaches or not? I have booked in to see my GP next week so I will mention the problem again to her. Kindest Regards.

Avatar n tn Low blood pressure can cause fainting but this is not quite common, and it should be treated if she is fainting a lot. How do you know she hasn't been digesting the food? Has she been losing weight.
Avatar f tn I was advised to take a bit of epsom salt/magnesium sulfate for it and it has been helping a lot. However, the heart racing and pounding have not completely gone away and I've been getting them the most after eating, especially when I eat complex carbs, so I'm wondering if my heart issues could have anything to do with blood sugar levels (or anything related) that could have been caused by any of the meds that I've taken this past year.
Avatar n tn Is the pacemaker actually working? Are the settings correct? It sounds like sounds like he may be going into a dysrhythmia and the pacemaker not kicking in, therefore causing him a lack of oxygen to brain so he passed out? He may be dropping his heart rate too low and the pacemaker not kicking in lick it should be, therefore causing him to pass out.
Avatar f tn sounds like you are very stressed out and yes I believe this could cause fainting however you should get it checked out, are you eating okay as low blood sugar can cause light headed and dizziness and possible fainting, how is your blood pressure. Are you taking any Meds could cause insomnia ?
Avatar f tn I had no energy til i was about 16w, until then i was exhausted constantly.you're probably feeling more sick now because you're not eating. It sounds silly but although you're sick, you have to keep eating to stave off the nausea.
Avatar f tn ve been suffering with extreme fatigue and frequent fainting from the beginning of last October. Also have a slightly irregular heart beat apparently but doctors didn't seem concerned...

1424099 tn?1282940614 I really wish I could help, although I cant do much than support. I'm sure your scard all the time about her. In thinking if it is her nerve system a factor could be being away from the family. You know, not being as safe and needing to feel a little more alert. That could be a part of it. That is really weird. Most people would say to just stop all sports but by the way you make it sound like she loves sports.
