fainting

Avatar n tn In spite of these results, I still happen to get odd symptoms such as chest pain off and on, as well as pain in both arms (off and on) and jaw pain (off and on). I also constantly feel light-headed, and many times I also feel short of breath. After exercise, the light headedness is much worse, but I'm not sure if this is just me working too hard and being out of shape.
Avatar f tn Often in people who have this disorder, they experience loss of muscle tone which presents similarly to fainting after experiencing emotion (anger, excitement, surprise, laughter). In my case, I thought I was having fainting spells, but was actually experiencing Cataplexy, which is when your body actually abruptly enters a REM sleep cycle. Since we are paralyzed while we are in REM sleep cycles, it results in a sudden loss of muscle tone or fainting.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm a 24 yr old male, recently diagnosed with bradycardia. I carried an EKG overnight and i think at some point my resting heart rate dropped down to the twenties. I've been told by some doctors this might be normal because I could be an athlete, but I haven't done any form of cardio for the past 7 years. I haven't had any of the traditional symptoms ie. fainting, or weakening of any sort.
Avatar n tn My 16 yr old niece has pain and is passing out anytime she eats. While "out" she has tremors, drools, and is unresponsive. The doctors have ruled out true seizures, and all tests by gastro, neuro, and cardio, are negative. They have referred her to psych. She was also diagnosed with shingles several years ago and has had 3-4 outbreaks the last few years. She occasionally has loss of vision in one eye that was previously affected by the shingles.
Avatar f tn my heart races on standing and my blood pressure drops.ifell sick and very tired all the time. i have reduced muscle movement in the left hand side of my heart. could this be the cause of my fainting turns?

Avatar n tn m paranoid about side effects, and I started to feel very disoriented at night and had side effects such as, muscle twitching, ticking, confusion, wierd vision change, so I told my doctor this and I was exspecially concerned about the muscle twitching, I get it all over my legs, arms sometimes in my cheeks, and sometimes even my abdomen, my doctor kind of shrugged it off thinking it was due to my anxiety and not my meds, but this never happened before my medication, maybe occasionally, but not e
Avatar f tn I am 18 years old, and i keep fainting. I first fainted in the shower after not having anything to eat or drink all day, which i know is my fault. However, i have continued to faint every day since which has been about 10 days in a row. I had paramedics called out to me and had tests done like blood, egg and blood pressure. My blood was fine, i have a very fast blood rate and low blood pressure.
Avatar n tn To counter pain, you may take a painkiller and a muscle relaxant with food for couple of days. Gentle massage and steam bath will be soothing. Avoid sternous exercises, cycling, taking stairs, any sports for couple of weeks. If still you do not get any relief, consult a surgeon for an examiantion. Take care and share your thoughts.

Avatar n tn When did joint pain, muscle aches and flu like symptoms start? After a new relationship? These can be all related. Give more information giving symptoms and if you can pinpoint a day you started feeling poor, and have not felt right since.

Avatar f tn Hi Sarah, Yes, this is something you should worry about. Did your doctor start you on betablockers? If your doctor is not an Electrophysiologist (cardiologist that specializes in heart rhythm disorders) then ask for a referral to one. These are the only doctors trained to diagnose and treat Long QT Syndrome properly. Check with the SADS or CARE websites for doctors. Do you have any of the symptoms, fainting, seizures, etc.?
1144044 tn?1283376544 I also have bumps on my arms and legs that look like chill bumps since I was little (mine have been diagnosed as keratosis pilaris, which is from an over-production of keratin in the hair follicles, leading to clogs, which is the cause of the bumps), abdominal pain (from IBS), and my skin also gets deep red and puts off heat (randomly, on my cheeks, ears, eyelids, nose, hands, and on an approximately 3"x3" patch of skin just above my elbows on the back of my arms, lasting anywhere
Avatar m tn s my understanding that heart pain is almost usually a deep, dull aching pain, and an intense gripping pain in a heart attack. Any sharp, stinging, or sticking pains are probably in the ribs, muscles, or nerves. I tell you that reluctantly because there are always exceptions. If there are no other symptoms, it's probably harmless. If it's almost time for a checkup anyway, you may want to mention it to your doctor just to ease your mine (and mine!).
Avatar f tn May be you can tell me what to do to stop the muscle twitching and cramp. and finally i would like to know if i can still live long or old with hypertension because i always heard that young hypertensive will die within 10yrs of diagnosis and it's really making me sad. Here are my test result: Nat=141, K+=4.3, Hco3=18, Urea=21, Creatine=0.5. FBC: Pvc-33%, wbct-2,800lmm.DIFF.N-72%, L-26%, E-02%, B-0%, M-0%. Urinalysis: Appearance- tubid, colour- yellow, urobilingen- 0.
Avatar n tn My symptom list is so long that I frequently get brushed off as a hypochondriac. I get frequent headaches, joint pain, muscle spasms and twitching, nervousness, unprovoked anxiety attacks, vision loss (and I'm starting to go a little colorblind), fainting, difficulty sleeping, irregular heartbeat and fluttering, mood swings, disorientation, weakness, jumpiness, weakness and fatigue....plus all the trouble I have with my stomach on a daily basis.
Avatar f tn I have all the symptoms you mentioned including looking at the computer and near fainting. I cannot go to malls, shops etc., and feel like fainting immediately. But mine happened after a head injury (brain contusion). I have seen many many specialists (Neurologist, Cardiologist, ENT specialists), multiple therapies, several meds etc., Doctors pretty much gave up on me. I have been suffering for the past year and a half and I am already wits end.
Avatar n tn Thank you. I just don't understand. I've had anxiety since last March, but I've never have had problems with bowel movements. I've had breathing problems, lightheadness or pseudo-fainting, chest pain/tightness, chest/"heart" zaps, muscle jerks, and so much more. I must suffer from some severe health anxiety. Everyone thinks I'm utterly crazy and I never can get help with this. I've had various fears from brain tumor to ministrokes everything!
Avatar f tn I always used to get stomach cramps and abdominal bloating/pain just before fainting. Sometimes I would get diarrhoea and vomiting in place of fainting. I have since cut out all wheat from my diet - and amazingly - no more stomach pains, bloating or diarrhoea! This may not work for everyone - but definately worth a try. If you want to give it a go, cut out all wheat products (check those labels carefully!) for two - four weeks.
Avatar n tn But, yesterday i had a sudden fainting spell followed by about 20 minutes of torturous pain. I am not on birth control and have not have kids yet... I have made an appt. with both my gyno and doctor. What is up with me? Is this normal?

Avatar f tn About 5 years ago I had odd proximal muscle pain in thighs and upper arms. Pain included a lot of burning sensations. Had difficulty with lifting my arm to do my hair but no other weakness. Thyroglobulin was at 1900 and had some thyroid level changes that leveled out after a few months and was diagnosed with thyroiditis but never treated. Symptoms stopped until this October. I had a horrible upper respiratory illness that stopped me from working out. I have lost 60 pounds since April.
Avatar m tn I have to say that it has gotten worse over the years and am now on an anti anxiety medication after much pain and denial. It seems to help but do not really want to be on any medication besides my question lite powder that i take to help bind my stools for fear that i will never be able to get off.
