Avatar f tn s been on Quetiapine (an atypical antipsychotic) for about 2yrs, but previous to this she was diagnosed with borderline hypothyroidism. Suddenly, she has fallen really ill and blood tests have confirmed minor hypothyroidism (T3 levels around 9)... but the symptoms look like hyper! She's edgy, having fainting spells, sudden loss of movement, headaches, nausea and has worryingly lost over a stone in a month (without dieting).
1265236 tn?1270066926 After having problems with fainting during workouts my doctor did a 24 hour holter and referred me to a Cardiologist due to "episodes of SVT vs ST". The Cardiologist did a 30 day event monitor which showed frequent PVCs and some Sinus Tach. He said he saw nothing life threatening. I used to have High blood pressure and within the last few months it has been low, maybe the cause of the fainting spells. I also have hypothyroidism that the doctor is having trouble controlling.
497348 tn?1283436066 or did the anxiety come with the thyroid disease? Because I was never anxious untill this thyroid stuff came and all hell broke loose and I still have not been the same person that I was before... makes me sad..
Avatar m tn t think that it was gallbladder because not only was I experiencing abdominal pain and digestion issues, but I also had severe memory problems, extreme fatigue, fainting spells, cold intolerance, and large weight fluctuations. Finally I got a diagnosis and surgery scheduled for the gallbladder...but now I am told I have hypothyroidism and should start medication within the next week along with diet changes and increasing my amount of exercise. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn s disease), low blood sugar levels, and in some cases, diabetes, may lead to hypotension and hence lightheadedness and an off balance feeling. Certain types of epilepsies and seizures too can cause similar symptoms. If you have an accompanying headache then you must also look at benign intracranial hypertension. Heart problems too should be ruled out in your case. If all other tests are normal, maybe an ECHO should be done to rule out mitral valve prolapse.
Avatar n tn For example, I can sit down for about ten minutes and get up normally, not fast at all, and walk about twenty feet and all of a sudden I feel pressure in the front of my head and my vision starts to get cloudy and partially black (about 3/4). The pounding in my head usually lingers for about a half hour after I regain vision, but my vision is still a bit blurred for about 5-10 minutes afterwards. Also, lately, I've noticed that I've been twitching.
Avatar f tn We might not even aware of it as simply lying ob during night is not enough instead we need to go deep sleep just like we are dead and wake refreshed and that is the real restful quality sleep we all need to remain refreshed during day. Both hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism can affect sleep. Also many others like blood sugar problems, increased stress, worrying and even too much dreaming. I suggest you consciously make an effort to sleep well during night.

967168 tn?1477584489 I was told that I had FMS when I was 17 and I definitely have some sort of various allergies/dermatitis.
Avatar f tn Hi, I’m 14 and about every time that I get up (it doesn’t even have to be fast) I’ll get really dizzy and lose my vision for a few seconds and can’t do anything to stop it. This has been going on for about a couple years now, but I’m asking if anyone else has experienced this and can offer information about how I can fix whatever’s wrong now because for the first time in all the times that this has happened, I nearly blacked out.

932739 tn?1244566772 I assume that is from hypothyroidism. I came home and walked, but tonight I was sitting down for just half an hour and when I stood up I became very weak, my muscles /limbs felt heavy, and I started feeling light headed, my hearing even went for a second, I was really on the verge of passing out. Thankfully I didn't but I was really panicking. I've never had this happen before. It really scared me. Anyone experience this.. and any advice?
Avatar f tn At 20 years old, I started fainting and having shortness of breath I went to the hospital and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism given meds never got better and went to alot of Doctors and had alot of testing. Two years ago, they found high RA factor and ana was negative sed rate was low and and the rest of the test. Avatar n tn The nausea at this stage was becoming unbearable and I was having to take a lot of time off work. This is when the fainting spells begun. Early in the morning I would become extremely faint and very nauseous I would have to sit down before I fell down. I had blood tests and an endoscopy but all the results were fine other then a slight iron deficiency. After months of going back and forth to the doctor I got frustrated and gave up instead turning my focus and money elsewhere.
Avatar n tn If your heart was beating fast prior to the fainting then you could have had your pressure dropping and when it got too low your body started to faint as a result. It is good it was caught on the loop monitor so they can see what it was. i would contact the doctor when they are in and see if they can check it out for you or if you have to go in the office to get the device read but at least you have some symptoms to investigate.
Avatar n tn t help then raised to 50 then 3 weeks ago had repeat bloods and found my TSH was 35 and T4 was 10 so my dose was doubled to 100, I initially felt like things were improving, I had stopped fainting and had more energy and sounded and felt more like my self and less zombified, but after doing a bit more my symptoms have returned but seem much worse, I can barley get up in the mornings, I have had extreme muscle pain, I feel short of breath and have started fainting and feel anxious.
Avatar n tn Im thirteen and everytime I stand up my vision goes away and I feel super dizzy and have to sit down. my vision comes back after 3-4 seconds. this happens at least once a week and I have a normal active life style. am I ok?
Avatar f tn I would definitely talk to my doctor fainting doesnt sound normal and make sure you're keeping your fluid intake up.
Avatar n tn Hi, thanks for the responses. Once I let my GP know that the heart problems are not caused by the hypothyroidism (and yes, I'm on thyroxine for that now) he should take it to the next level seeing as his personal interest is in cardiac problems. I did just have a 10-way EKG as a surgery pre-assessment which came back ok. So I assume my GPs next step would be an echo or event monitor, although isn't that like the holter monitor but worn for months?
Avatar n tn My biggest concern is the dizziness and fainting and incredible fatigue. The fatigue has gotten worse over the years but my sleep apnea is managed well with CPAP and nothing else ever seemed wrong physically so I have just dealt with it by making sure I get plenty of rest and strictly pacing my activity level. My sense is something is not right but none of the tests seem all that unusual. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what might be up with this?
