Avatar m tn I assume you are being treated for high blood pressure, and patients with CAD and very low BP can increase the risk for a stroke and heart attack. There is a study that 110 or lower for systolic pressure and 60 or lower for diastolic pressure may increase the risk. There are other doctors who want the blood pressure as low as possible without side effects such as fainting, dizziness, etc.
Avatar m tn history of fever and sore throat, migrating joint pains, rash on arms and trunk, breathlessness, palpitations, chest pain, fatigue, and fainting attacks. Diagnosis is by the symptoms and raised ESR, C-Reactive protein, increased WBC count, and raised anti streptolysin O titre. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn number in blood pressure measurements) by an average of 8 mmHg. In the majority of patients with heart disease, including most of those being treated with antihypertensive drugs, this is not a problem.
Avatar f tn I am 21 now and i have been suffering from blackouts/fainting since i was about 14yrs old. At first i was told by my GP that it was hormonal, then that it was something called vagesvagrel syndrome (i think thats how it's spelt). However this last few month i'm still suffering and knew it couldn't still be hormonal, i've had an ECG test done and been told i have an ectopic heart beat but this is not related to my fainting. Do you have any suggestions?
Avatar n tn t have any of the predisposing factors you listed but last year when I had a lot of anxiety my heart was beating hard and fast all the time for weeks and that led to heart pain including from chest exercises and later from jogging.
Avatar f tn Look-up the following article (see the link below), print it out if you can, and take it with you when you see the doctor and give it to him or her. The article is intended for doctors, it's not a patient oriented web site. Swallowing and digestive induced arrhythmias are a well known phenomena, and Bradycardia (slow heart beat) is probably the more common rhythm disturbance. I'm currently experiencing a bout of heart rhythm problems and have seen an Electrophysiologist (E.P.
203342 tn?1328737207 Turns out I have a heart condition, where my blood pressure drops and my heart has a hard time pumping blood up to my brain. The only treatment they can give me is exercise (which has helped, I haven't fainted in 6 years) and to sit down if I have to stand for more than 10 minutes or so. Hope this helps, best of luck!

Avatar n tn Each time he was sitting down and the last two incidences, May 17th and May 24th, he had weakness in his right arm and hand. These fainting spells last a split second...he blanks out, collapses and comes through in a split second. Neurologists don't believe the seizures and fainting are related. The cardiologists that have seen him don't think he has a heart issue. We really need help to figure this out!! Thank you!
Avatar m tn Unfortunately, the young don't escape heart disease, and/or congenital heart problems that relate to the structure such as the valves and sometimes septum defect ( hole beween chambers) that reduces a good healthy output of oxygenated blood. The very young from the war when an autopsy was done it showed many had advanced coronary occlusions.

Avatar n tn My 19 yr old daughter runs on a treadmill, and her heartbeat goes up to 180, with no other symptoms. Is this too high? Should I have her checked out? We have a family history of heart disease. She is healthy, although has fainted 3 times, not when exercising.
2085487 tn?1332432719 Buth without you will continue to deteriorate. I had heart disease since 23 and seen multiple doctors and countless medications until i found the right ER, the right Hospital, and the righ Cardio Team. I was misdiagnosed with mitrval regt. buy one hospital and the treatment plan didnt work. Another hospital diagnosed me with dilated cardiomyopathy. I feel fine now with the right meds and my rates/bp/heart is fine. So being misdiagnosed is a very dangerous situation. So shop around and quick.
Avatar f tn Check out the documentary "Under Our Skin" which is about chronic Lyme disease. That's an eye opener! I have four autoimmune diseases and have a negative ANA btw. Hmmm :) I did find a study entitled - Syncope and Raynaud's disease. Syncope is the medical term for fainting. This does make sense that fainting could be a symptom of Raynaud's due to ischaemia (restriction in blood supply to tissues) in the brain.
Avatar n tn Shortly after passing my annual physical last week, I fainted during the following blood test (fainting in the clinic quite normal for me following needle sticks). After fainting, my pulse was 110 and my BP was 104/59, and stayed that way for the 20 minutes the nurses insisted I lay in the chair. After fainting, I could feel my heartbeat, and it felt fluttering or irregular. I have felt the sensation before, and it usually quickly clears up on it's own.
Avatar f tn My response above was under the belief I was on the Heart Rhythm Community, but no matter. I checked both the Heart Disease and Heart Rhythm listed on the "Doctor Forums" and both reverted to the volunteer Communities of the same names.
Avatar n tn Can Autonomic neuropathy hide what your blood glucose is? Even with meds for Adult Type II Diabetes my Accu-CHEK monitoring never seems to be right. It runs from 135, 145,200 and even up to 300 once. My a1c is always good, 5.5, 6.0 even before I started meds for Adult Type II Diabetes and even after starting meds it stays the same.
Avatar f tn It has been going on for over 1 year. Lately I have been fainting and falling alot (very embarrising since I am in High School). Just recently I have also been getting severe leg and back cramps/spasms. I am having a hard time sleeping at night getting only about 3 to 4 hours of sleep. This has also been going on for over 1 year. I have seen several doctors, who have run MRI's, CAT scans and they all have done blood work. Everything always comes up normal.
Avatar f tn An elevated D-dimer test apart from indicating a clot in the body could also be high due to recent surgery, trauma, infection, liver disease, pregnancy, eclampsia, heart disease, and some cancers. An elevated D-dimer alone is not significant. It needs to be followed up with other tests. I suggest you consult a cardiologist first and rule out cardiac causes of breathlessness. Then a CT scan of chest should be done. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.

Avatar f tn Ok so last October I started uni and became ill with glandular fever. I started suffering from regular faints (3 or 4 times a week) and the doctor ran a lot of tests to check it wasn't my heart or head or anything. He also checked for Addison's disease. My ECG showed that my heart rate was slightly irregular but apparently that's fairly common. Anyway, I began to get really fatigued and in January I was "diagnosed" with M.
Avatar m tn s not sure really whats wrong but they went thru my septum to get to my atrial area and fixed 3 areas that didnt have good electical function and 1 spot that had poor blood flow. so 3 days after i felt like a rock star and now 6 weeks later and 2 fainting spells later i feel horrid..anyways my point is maybe its just palpations and maybe not you should see someone because u never know.
Avatar m tn So I have occasionally suffered from presyncope when standing up (that is, I stand up and suddenly feel very dizzy), and three times in my life have fainted, once after standing up, once while cleaning the windowless bathroom in hot weather and poorly ventilated conditions, and once when getting up late at night to go to the bathroom. I have recently (1-2 weeks) had odd chest pains, sometimes on the left side but also sometimes on the right.
Avatar f tn , weakness, dizziness, near fainting spells. ive gone to my PCP who did an MRI and echo. nothing. I was surfing the web and found atrial fib. and i think this is what i have. i just thought there might be a connection with my blood disease. i am awaiting my appnmt with a cardiologist, as well as my hematologist. and i requested a holster, so i am wearing that tomorrow. but my PCP is kind of stumped and i think ive got the answer.
Avatar f tn I am 53 and in menopause and I have actually fainted now while driving. My heart was racing and I had a hot flash and then I lost consciousness for 3 or 4 seconds. Went off the road, through a fence and into a field. Very luckily, no one was hurt. This happened a year ago. Had tons of tests done on my heart, blood work, etc. Nothing found. Now, a year later, I'm starting to get the dizzy spells again (not vertigo though, I've had that before).
1704618 tn?1307528771 if their is some problem with heart and if he wud go for such monitoring of heart rythm. but he didnt. so if a cardiologist can ignore this then how can i go for this. :( m i rit isnt it.?
