fainting

492921 tn?1321289896 So this afternoon I laid down on the couch I fell asleep so I decided to go back to bed I stood up and walked about 6-7 feet and everything went black and I had to hold myself up on the wall my knees were wobbling and I almost fell over. I know that getting light headed is common in pregnancy when you move from laying down to sitting or standing to fast. It just scared me that everything wen black and I almost fell.
1923882 tn?1352250106 Sometimes it is due to low blood sugar, and sometimes it is caused by moving to fast or standing up too quickly. If it happens alot then you may want to go get checked.
Avatar f tn This way your heart is being monitored and when you feel symptoms you can write it down and the time it happened and they can tell you for sure if it is heart related or not. I hope you get better soon. Oh, I believe if you had a hole in your heart it would have shown up on an ultrasound.
Avatar n tn Also, I stretch out my body before getting up. I had a horrible diet too. Eat better, drink lots of water and get some blood work done...please. Best wishes!!!
1659011 tn?1307486147 Make sure you stay hydrated and get up slow. (My medication used to make me so dizzy that I would throw up and pass out all of the time). If you are really concerned about this near-fainting and shortness of breath, perhaps you should talk to your doctor. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Me too. My symptoms have changed from nausea to sudden dizziness/headaches and feeling weight around my bladder area (I've been upgraded to 13wks Wednesday from 12+1wk on Tuesday). I have gained between 1 and 2kg (which is normal range). Apparently we are meant to gain an additional 5.4kg in the second trimester!!! Yikes!

Avatar f tn s smiling at a spirit because he will just follow with his eyes all around the ceiling and smile so big and crack up and he will coo! Anyone else believe in that stuff?
Avatar f tn Does it make anyone dizzy getting up really fast I'm 6 weeks and I'm always dizzy. .n i don't know what can help this...
Avatar f tn 20 weeks here and I've been having the same thing. It would be low blood sugar or that you just stood up too fast or have been standing for too long. As long as you aren't fainting and you don't lose you're site, you should be ok. If it gets worse talk to your doctor. I almost fainting in hobby lobby whole standing in the check out line, I had to crouch down so I didn't fall over. It was low blood sugar, I was starving. Try keeping some snacks with you.
Avatar f tn I am not sure how old you and your bf/fiance are, but getting this serious after 4 months.....hmmmmm.....not too sure about how this will work out. Why was the 11th month chosen? This just doesn't sound rational in my opinion. Why is he "pushing" marriage so quick? Back to your question, how to tell mom, family and friends. In this situation, just tell them like you have told us here in your post.
Avatar m tn I am a nurse** How has been your fluids lately, have you been recently sick? Sometimes when you stand up from a sitting position too fast you may get dizzy, you blood pressure could be dropping (orthostatic hypotention)because of this. Earwax thing is true too, build up in your ear can throw off your equilibrium and make you dizzy also....back to have you been sick with a headcold or something? Pressure in there dose that.
Avatar n tn I think dizziness is mostly a result of low blood pressure, or inner ear problems. Simply standing up too fast does not cause fainting normally.
Avatar f tn The hospital didnt check anything else told me to follow up with my dr. Set up an appt for tom. But all day i have felt really weak and tired and the feeling still hasnt gone. It took me over 30 mins to shower when it normally only takes 10. This isy second kid and never had this problem before.
Avatar f tn I am 53 and in menopause and I have actually fainted now while driving. My heart was racing and I had a hot flash and then I lost consciousness for 3 or 4 seconds. Went off the road, through a fence and into a field. Very luckily, no one was hurt. This happened a year ago. Had tons of tests done on my heart, blood work, etc. Nothing found. Now, a year later, I'm starting to get the dizzy spells again (not vertigo though, I've had that before).
Avatar m tn I have read that there is such a thing as inappropriate sinus tachycardia, I am suffering with this disease for 3 years now and I am not getting any dignosis.Could you help diagnose my problem, tnx!
403255 tn?1278813266 Make sure you aren't standing up too fast and that you aren't sleeping on your back at night. Anemia is a good one that is sometimes overloooked so definitely ask your mid-wife if she can check your iron levels.
Avatar f tn Since then I have seen a cardiologist who has diagnosed me with POTS because of my constant fainting and fast heart rate upon standing. All of my ECGs and echos are normal. I am wondering if perhaps my disaitonomic problems are caused by something more serious. I mentioned the bradycardia to my current Dr. But he did not seem worried so I dropped it but I don't want one of those serious fainting episodes to happen again and wake up with a pacemaker and lose my license.
Avatar f tn I am 37 weeks and just finished setting everything up. I started last week.
10379390 tn?1414135837 I'm 23 weeks and nobody knows what I am talking about but, if I get up too fast or tighten my stomach really fast while getting up I get this pinching feeling on my stomach where the baby is and its making me worried. Is this normal? Has anybody else had this happen?
2181422 tn?1400511380 So I know I complained about wanting my pregnancy to go faster. And I did. But now that my baby is here I want time to stop! He's already ONE WEEK OLD! How did that happen. I'm so sad he is growing too fast ): he will be out of newborn clothes he in a week or two I'm sure.. ugh he's perfect I wish I could keep him small forever. I was so terrifies of birth and labor, and for those of you that have read my posts mine was NOT an easy labor but I'd do it again in a heart beat.
Avatar f tn At first I thought it was just head rush from getting up too fast from sitting down.On one occasion I stepped off a bus and had an episode and this time my legs had a funny sensation. After visiting my GP he advised that it was vertigo but referred me to a neurologist as well. Months have passed and after having blood tests, heart tests, blood pressure tests and finally a CT scan, i am still having the episodes. They dont happen suddenly.
1077135 tn?1267319960 I went paralysed on my left side in September, everything was normal for two days and then my hands and legs started tingling, and my balance was off. I haven't been the same since. Well I thought I was improving then two weeks ago I woke up to having fainting spells. I am also going numb and the tingling is worse than ever. I am also having a burning sensation in my feet and legs. I also get a tingling, numbing feeling in my head. Sometimes I get pains in my head when I turn it.
Avatar f tn When it first started, i just thought that it was just because i was getting out of bed way too fast ( i used to fall in my room a lot! and in the hall way. one time i fell into my closet and couldn't get up for some reason.) But then it got all weird because it would happen out of the blue. i would be feeling fine and walking and then i would just pass out right there. sometimes i can feel it coming and i sit on the ground before i fall down.
