I got back to a friends after being out at a club all night without sleep, went out for a drive, got back and I felt the fever, nausea and a cold sweat, tried to go to the bathroom again and passed out, hitting my face on a radiator (sigh). I got woken up by friends and apparently kept passing out, and had to be dragged to a bed. I wasn't sick despite feeling like I defiantly was going to as soon as the feeling came on, and was ok after some sleep.
This morning i woke up worse.. sore throat, stuffy nose, fever and dizziness plus i have no appetite what so ever.. is this normal and has anyone else experienced this? What should i do? Ive missed 2 days of work already.
Ok so last October I started uni and became ill with glandular fever. I started suffering from regular faints (3 or 4 times a week) and the doctor ran a lot of tests to check it wasn't my heart or head or anything. He also checked for Addison's disease. My ECG showed that my heart rate was slightly irregular but apparently that's fairly common. Anyway, I began to get really fatigued and in January I was "diagnosed" with M.E/CFS after tests for other thyroid and muscular illnesses.

Hi,sorry to hear your not feeling well.Have you been to your doctor or neurologist about these symptoms? Some of what you describe are panic attacks, being through a traumatic experience does some times bring on fear or afraid of dying. You need to make an appointment with your doctor or neurologist.Having a pinched nerve in your neck does not cause, these feelings.Or having arthritis in your neck.Make an appointment as possible though. You may need an MRI of your brain,or catscan of your brain.
I had Rheumatic Fever as a small child and was treated for heart murmur and on daily antiobiotic (Penicillian) until I was 18. I am 56 years old, weight 210 lbs., 5'5", have taken thyroid medication since I was 12, have high blood pressure. For years I will occassionally get these mild blackout spells. I don't completely blackout, but things go sort of gray, I get a tingling in my right arm, my body feels weak and heavy, I get heartburn or stomach pain with these.
IF the pain has resolved, I would think that it would be OK for you to wait and see if it comes back or if you develop other symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. If the pain persists or if these other symptoms arise then it really needs to be evaluated as it could be something serious such as appendicitis, ovarian cyst, etc. Hope this helps. Good luck.
R. and they say that I have an extremely high white blood cell count and high fever, but they can't find anything else. I don't know if this is related, but I have joint pain all of the time. I can hear my joints creaking while I sleep. We live in a small town in East Texas. My kids convinced me to go to Houston to get treatment. (4 hours away) The doctor that I went to said that I had a weak immune system and needed a gammo-goblin (sp?) infusion.
First a little backround: I'm 27, and I had brain & kidney surgery at 25. I still have a brain aneurysum. I take atenenol, and lotensin for high blood pressure.I get severe migrains. Thursday I was cleaning up, then went to the computer, sat down and wala! Next thing I know I'm on the ground crying in my Mom's lap. I got to the emergency room, and they took ahead of every one, My bp was 192 over 121, and I had 102 fever. EKG, doc's stated "otherwise o.k.". They had no answer.
Symptoms: Fever Dizziness Almost fainted when stood up quickly the other day Always dizzy when stand up quickly(rarely happened before) and feel best lying down... sudden movements cause more dizziness Pressure inside head Tension in the head Body hurts in the morning (chest area, kidney area) Pain in the back of the neck Cough 22yo male, smoker (since 14) lately eating once a day, drinking a lot of coffe, not getting too much sleep during the week...
And what did the people at the emergency room say when you showed up? Oh...you didn't go to the emergency room. The black-out was precipitated by straining when you attempted a bowel movement, stimulating the vagus nerve, dropping blood pressure and heart rate. But there was another underlying factor. I suggest you go to a physician for a complete in-person work-up. There are too many scenarios and you require professional input.
Since the beginning of February I have been suffering fainting and near fainting spells. Sometimes I can feel it coming on (tinitus like sound in my ear, blurred vision, can't hear or speak properly and headaches), sometimes it comes on so fast I can't tell till it's too late (One time I was talking normally to a friend and was feeling fine, then turned around and fell feeling horrible). This happens all the time at work, outside on the street, in the mall, etc.
Neuro is also checking for EVERYTHING else cardio and neuro related. I had a tilt table test yest. (Have been having fainting spells, 1 while driving) I did ok on the first part of the test, but when they stressed my system (nitro spray orally) my bp dropped way down, heart rate up. I have been having these spells most of this yr. Drs were not really taking me serious, until I did one in their office, then they rushed me to ER!
maybe a little shaken from the commotion caused by the incident. She has no fever and full of energy this evening. I will add that 36 hours prior she complained of a very bad headache prior to going to bed and a bad headache upon waking in the morning. Both times I gave her Ibuprofen and she was fine. Prior to school she had a bowl of cereal (Total type cereal) with milk but nothing has been out of the ordinary, no head injury, no signs of diabetes, etc.

Wouldn't long QT be hightly unusual in a 14 year old? Is it not more common in a 20-35 year old age group?
During the treatment with Bactrim, I started having paresthesias that came in patches all over my body, but mostly in the feet and legs, then arm, hands and shoulders. The fever never went away, nor did the urinary frequency. But the last day of the Bactrim and the day after, the paresthesias only came on if I moved a certain way (bent over of looked down) or when I got startled, then I'd have prickling sensations in my palms and soles of my feet. They were almost gone.
ER said it was contact dermatitis. Few days later saw dr. for rash, vomiting and a low fever. She urinated a few times when she was unaware of need until it started. Urine culture showed Group B strep and put her on amoxicillin. After appts and tests, blood work 2x abdominal ultrasound and a barium upper G.I., (all negative), on 3rd bloodwork added Lyme test, it was positive (lower marker). Switched her from amox. to doxycicline.

But today I woke w/ a fever of 101.5 and because I am feeling like a wimp and couldn't take it, I have had to take ibuprofen 2x today and it barely helped w/ the pain or the fever. It is still around 100. I don't feel like I am coming down w/ something else. I feel like I have been feeling on the ABx.

This isn't a cure for the cause of what's making all this happen, but my belief is that i have some sort of internal blockage again that causes the cramps, and because of the fizzyness of the japps that its forcing the food past this blockage and relieving me of the terrible pain and stopping me from fainting and smashing my head and face to pieces. I really hope this can bring relief to people suffering as i know how bad these episodes make you feel, not only physically but mentally.

She is currently having cough, with lots of phlegm, fever temp that goes up and down for the past few days and weak in speech. The doctor gave her 3 days of medical leave. This is her 2nd time fainting, she has low blood pressure and it was her 1st day of menstruation when she fainted. The qns: What could be wrong with her brain? Is there anything serious?
This will be long sorry! I had a Diagnostic Laporoscopy with a D&C on Feb 12th. After surgery my heart rate stayed high for hours in the recovery room. I stay in recovery for almost 4 hours, they kept giving me something to bring my heart rate down my it didn't work. I was sent home 5 hours later. I was catherized becassue my bladder was "lazy" and had to go the next day and have it removed. I had a fever and a infection, they put me on antibiotics.
He's had maybe 8 seizures since then and 2 of which didn't involve a fever at all. He was found passed out at his day care in February, he wasn't seen seizing or shaking but he came out of it like he would a seizure. Now, for the last 3 - 4 months, we've noticed him passing out. Each time he was sitting down and then blacked out for a split second. He has fallen off a chair and a bench and hit the floor. The other times we happened to catch him.
