Dentist enquired about my habits and I lied that I don't have any habits.

Avatar f tn As soon as I got into the doctor and it was confirmed, I quit smoking that same day. (Which was at about 9 weeks.) I used to smoke weed and cigarettes all day every day, but why would you even risk it if you know its a possibility? I mean if you wouldn't blow smoke in a newborn's face, why would you think its okay to smoke while they are still inside you? Sorry to sound harsh but they breathe in everything you breathe.
Avatar m tn I never had chewed tobacco, but I smoke, I quit cold turkey about 20 years ago, and after 15 years without smoking, started to smoke again, go figures, LOL. Now I smoke half a pack a day. Try to avoid sweets, spicy foods, coffee or anything that you can associate with chewing tobacco.
Avatar f tn However, frequent cannabis use, combined with frequent tobacco use, can certainly lead to an increase in mucous production and cam make mucous less viscous (more thick and sticky), as well as coughing, bronchitis (specifically from tobacco and moldy weed, which is more common than most people realize), and a slew of other respiratory symptoms.. 378497 tn?1232143585 and one that found a tenuous link between (current) smoking, WMH, and being an elderly woman. But nothing about smoking/history of smoking and WMH in otherwise cardiovascularly/pulmonarily healthy people under age 60. So, again...where is this coming from? Anyone have any ideas? Can anyone find citations to support these assertions?
Avatar f tn I believe it has its risk as for its tobacco and a form of chemical. Everything has a risk but can't say for sure it will harm the baby. It is just highly not recommended. Do your best to play it safe. That's like me and coffee right now.
Avatar n tn I have been through and overcame so much, and really gotten serious about my personal health. I stopped drinking four months ago, and I am now almost two weeks smoke free! I have suffered palpitations on and off for a few years, and have been told they are benign, but no less irritating. I just want to offer my support to anyone who is dealing with them now. I must say though, as a former heavy smoker, the best thing anyone here can do for their health is to stop smoking!

1718855 tn?1401756839 Rush I quit smoking about 5 years ago. I had to. I had both legs clogged. aorta by pass.and corroded artery .Smoking narrows the arteries and blood viens. which causes VERY poor circulation. That's what's wrong with my feet. They feel like I'm walking on needles and burn like fire. One leg is 70% blocked now. I'm telling you all this so you will stay strong and quit. I smoked for 60 years. This is a difficult and personal subject.

Now when it's time to hang it up there's no support for those of us that chew tobacco. There's stop smoking just about everywhere you look and I gave up smoking November of 2016. Today is day 8 tobacco free and all I can think about is eating but I'm on a monitored diet.
Avatar m tn ve been trying to find information regarding this topic online but am having trouble finding reliable sources. Obviously smoking tobacco is harmful to your health but does it put one at increased risk for HIV infection. All the information I've found is based on 6 studies which they showed that smoking will increase a person's risk of acquiring HIV up to 3.5 times. I question these studies methods and wonder if there are any additional studies I can find to get a better understanding.
