Common Questions and Answers about Face rash strep

rash

Do you think this was the new shampoo that gave me this rash or a reaction to all the antibiotic I took because of the strep? And if so what can I do??
My child broke out in a red rash on his face - tested negative for strep - no sign of illness. The red went away and the skin is now very, very dry. The same has happened to my face. What could it be? It is not itchy, it was initially alittle warm.
He said she had what is called gutate psoriasis, related to a form of arthritis. the rash can come on with just a sore throat of a fever that is related to strep. Her rash lasted about 1 yr and comes back in a lesser form every time she grts a fever.
For the last 2 weeks I have had a red rash appear on my face after showering or shaving. It starts out as a tingling feeling that develops into a red rash on my forehead, cheeks. and neck (some areas on my face will have one or two small raised marks that appear to look like scratches). I will also have a red mark in the middle of my chest. This rash will last up to 20 to 30 minutes and then dissapear. It starts out as a tingling feeling that ends up itching and burning(like a sun burn).
i have recently developed a red circular rash on my FACE that looks like ringworm but i KNOW its not......i had gone to the doctor and was treated for strep throat on 4/12/2006......they gave me a shot of anti-infamitory and prescribed me OMNICEF......as far back as i can remember i have never had any allergies to ANY medications what-so-ever....the next day i went to the dentist because of horrible pains.....
This can occur after strep, or after a viral rash which looks like strep. Although the degree of your son's peeling is more than average, it has no significance, since there's a layer of new skin beneath it. The hands and feet peel most noticeably (no reason known.) He'll be good as new, though not necessarily any more obedient. Hope these two things help!
Hello, I had a sore throat with swollen lymph nodes and I found out I had some sort of strep beta-hemolytic bacterial infection that isn't group A, C, or G. Due to a recent oral sex encounter, I got tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia in the throat. Those swabs were done with the Aptima Combo 2 Assay and came back negative. I took azithromycin and rocephin injection as a precaution (before the swab results came back), and am currently taking Augmentin to get rid of the strep.
It wasn't until later that the scarlet fever rash showed up. The strep infection was in my blood stream. Once I took the course of antibiotics it was gone. So I'm not sure that something like a throat swab is going to indicate that the infection is indeed eradicated. Maybe have to ask for some blood work to be done.
I have had a terrible rash on my face for what seems like months. It comes and goes, at first I thought it was related to my cycle but I dont think it is. If you look quite close my whole face is tiny bumps, red and raised, some areas are bigger bumps, especially around my jaw and forehead. Over the past two weeks the itching is intense and I have to take high doses of benadryl (100mg twice a day, I know that is too much) to tolerate it.
Hello I beleive a rash can be brought about by strep. But you can always go to another doctor like a dermatgoligst to see what type of rash it might be. Also as for being diganosed with strep, my niece had strep throat for months on and off going off and on antibotics. My sisters doctor made everyone in the house get tested for strep. My brother in law was tested positive. As soon as his strep throat cleared up my niece did not get it again it finally went away.
I went to the ER, where they gave me epinephrin and a breathing treatment (was wheezing), and tested me for mono, and strep throat. I also began taking the antibiotic keflex in advance of the strep reading, because my hives were so severe. Doctors also wondered if there was something else going on besides hives; I began to consider I was dying.
I haven't gone to the doctor, just started amoxicillian I have here (four kids) and it has cleared up (also a rash on my face) in a few days. Is it a coincidence or do I need to avoid this act in the future.
Could this be related to the treatment and is there anything I should do? I have had strep in the past but don't remember how serious it is or if it could be more serious due to the steroid treatment? I would appreciate any help tonight cause if I need to get treatment right away it would be best to know tonight. Thanks so much!

The next morning, there was another spot on her other cheek. Basically, for 6 weeks her face keeps getting new spots. We have seen 2 peditricians and 2 dermatologists. They do not know what it is. She was on Keflex for 10 days, Duricef for 10 days and Cipro for 10 days. We have been using Bactroban ointment continuously until this week when we started using Altabax ointment. Still, no improvement. When one spot is almost gone, she will wake up with a new spot.
Overnight my 2 year old son developed a rash on face, arms, back, belly, under arms, and groin areas. It looks very similar to eczema that I have seen on other children. He has not had a fever and it does not apprear to be itchy. He did have a mild cold with a cough and runny nose last week. He also had a little bite from the cat on his hand. I looked up cat scratch disease but it doesn't appear to match those symptoms.
This time they did rapid strep test and negative. If it is mono does it have to have a positive strep test? Thanks again. Ill talk to my gp mon.
On the morning of the fourth day she began to experience a hive like rash on her legs and arms. The next morning her her face swelled up. She has no temperature, but has minor discomfort in swallowing, and slight nausa. She also has minor muscle and joint pain. By the sixth day (which is today) symptoms persist but appear stable.
after she completed the rounds of meds she started having a burning rash on her arms, neck, face, and chest. It usually doesnt last more than an hour or so at a time. we went back to the dr and they put her on prednisone and singulair. We have also tried OTC antihistamines and they sont seem tohelp much either. It seemed to have cleared up while on the prednisone but as soon as she finished that it has started again. Now the spots are looking like blisters or burn marks.
My 7 year old daughter has been having a rash/hives appear with a burning sensation to accompany it. She was originally diagnosed with Strep and was given 2 rounds of amoxicillin. The day after she finished the antibiotic this starting happening. The Dr thought it may be an allergic reaction or side effect form the antibiotics so they put her on prednisone and singulair. She seemed to have cleared up while on the steroid but as soon as she finished it the rash came back.
hey everyone ! I've been getting an itchy rash that comes and goes all over my body, one rash left a circleish figure it looked like a mosquito bite.. I've also had kind of a sore throat and abit of abdominal pain. Im not sure what this is but its bothering me a lot.. i also use face cream that has benzoyl peroxide in it but its not just pure benzoyl peroxide.. my friend got bleach into her blood stream because of a doctor recommending just pure benzoyl peroxide.. I'm wondering if its that?!
The final diagnoses was they thought the antibiotics caused lower gi bleeding and a yiest rash on my face. They prescribed me a cream to put on my rash. After two weeks on the cream the rash started going down and one totally has gone away but the other is still slightly there. I stopped having bleeding although my anus is still irritated. As well as my swollen node has gone down a lot it's still there but it was huge before its a lot smaller. I also have circular rashes under my chin.
i am 19 years old......i have recently developed a red circular rash on my FACE that looks like ringworm but i KNOW its not......i had gone to the doctor and was treated for strep throat on 4/12/2006......they gave me a shot of anti-infamitory and prescribed me OMNICEF......as far back as i can remember i have never had any allergies to ANY medications what-so-ever....the next day i went to the dentist because of horrible pains.....
Hi, I am glad that you have posted a pic here, and though it does not work as well as a face-to-face interview, it does help us. I would like to say that these spots do look like inflammation of the oil glands of the face. Therefore, in a way they may be primordial acne or whiteheads. A yeast or fungal infection is also a possibility, however, in either case the association with antibiotic usage some time back does not seem to connect with this lesion.
Folliculitis esp pityrasporum folliculitis produces red, itchy pustules on the back and chest and sometimes on the neck, shoulders, upper arms and face. It's caused by the yeast-like fungus. The itchy rash of lichen planus is mostly found on the upper torso but can sometimes involve the face.Treatment involves oral and injected corticosteroids in the bumps.PUVA (psoralens plus ultraviolet A) is also helpful.
He identical sister had no rash. Later some of the rash in face lookedlike tiny little blisters. Gave her more Benedryl this morning. No change. Nothing looks blisty now (15hrs after onset) just red bumps on face and fine covering of red dots on her back, next and some arms. She has had all of her immunization shots. My kids had off and on fevers earlier in the week. 2 nights ago she was 102.7 gave her children's ibuprofen and she had been fine since. What could bring on such a sudden rash?
This time it didn't go away and so I saw my ob/gyn. She took a culture and found strep B, which has nothing to do with Strep A that creates strep throat. She said she could give me antibiotics to make it go away but then I would get a yeast infeciton from the antibiotics and then we'd have to use another cream etc. She said just to let it ride it's course. Now it's been three and ahalf weeks and it's better but not all healed.
My impression is that they reflect some combination of a systemic non-HIV viral infection (maybe infectious mononucleosis?), perhaps scarlet fever (strep throat with rash), and perhaps allergy to one or more of the drugs you have taken.
The problem is he has a rash on his face. He has a probelm with dermititis sometimes but this is really bad. Can this be connected to his fever and not being well ?
