My 3 year old got a rash on her face, neck, and upper chest and back. It was light colored but splochy red. There were a lot of tiny bumps - the doctor described them as "sandpaper-y". We gave her benadryl and it didn't do anything for her. we took her to the emergency room where they did a cbc and strep test. (Keeping in mind that my kids are not in school / daycare. I stay at home with them every day, and nobody in the house has been sick.

Taking Antibiotics, like Penicillin/Amoxicillin would've Helped if it was Strep, & IF it was Strep w/in 24hrs of starting Antibiotics you're no longer Confessors. I actually just learned all about Strep, bc about 1.
On the morning of the fourth day she began to experience a hive like rash on her legs and arms. The next morning her her face swelled up. She has no temperature, but has minor discomfort in swallowing, and slight nausa. She also has minor muscle and joint pain. By the sixth day (which is today) symptoms persist but appear stable.
hey everyone ! I've been getting an itchy rash that comes and goes all over my body, one rash left a circleish figure it looked like a mosquito bite.. I've also had kind of a sore throat and abit of abdominal pain. Im not sure what this is but its bothering me a lot.. i also use face cream that has benzoyl peroxide in it but its not just pure benzoyl peroxide.. my friend got bleach into her blood stream because of a doctor recommending just pure benzoyl peroxide..
The final diagnoses was they thought the antibiotics caused lower gi bleeding and a yiest rash on my face. They prescribed me a cream to put on my rash. After two weeks on the cream the rash started going down and one totally has gone away but the other is still slightly there. I stopped having bleeding although my anus is still irritated. As well as my swollen node has gone down a lot it's still there but it was huge before its a lot smaller. I also have circular rashes under my chin.
t until later that the scarlet fever rash showed up. The strep infection was in my blood stream. Once I took the course of antibiotics it was gone. So I'm not sure that something like a throat swab is going to indicate that the infection is indeed eradicated. Maybe have to ask for some blood work to be done.

My little sister was sleeping and woke up with a rash all over her back, shoulders, arms, and neck. She said she felt hot and that her back was wet when she woke up. What is it? Is this dangerous? What do you recommend we use?
Well, has she had a strep test? The rash could be scarlet fever from the strep infection. I had a strep infection without a sore throat, but with scarlet fever, and every joint in my body was involved. I could barely walk. I had no idea strep could cause these symptoms. You can also have a negative rapid strep test. What you really need is a culture and a blood draw to make sure. I got the run around for quite a while.

After thinking again about what you said. Scarlet fever rash comes within 4 days of getting strep throat. SO, I think it is a allergy to the antibiotic.Anaphylactic rash and other serious allergy comes right awaywithin hours. A lot of rashes take time to develop and you immune system has to kick in an make antibodies against it. You can develop a rash in 2 -6 weeks after taking antibiotics. This is not a sign of an immune problem it is natural for it to take a while.
He identical sister had no rash. Later some of the rash in face lookedlike tiny little blisters. Gave her more Benedryl this morning. No change. Nothing looks blisty now (15hrs after onset) just red bumps on face and fine covering of red dots on her back, next and some arms. She has had all of her immunization shots. My kids had off and on fevers earlier in the week. 2 nights ago she was 102.7 gave her children's ibuprofen and she had been fine since. What could bring on such a sudden rash?
