Avatar m tn also statins like simvastatin were reported to boost response a little but better not mix 2 statins, in a report researchers of ezetimibe effect on hbv and hcv suggested the use of ezetimibe with interferon but without simvastin ezetimibe dose is 10-20mg daily but human trials with dose 50mg daily for a limited time did not find any sides or toxicity
Avatar m tn Size exclusion chro- matography (SEC) with the recombinant assembly domain (aa 1-149) of HBV core and electron microscopy (EM) was used to study the effect of JNJ-379 on capsid assembly. Primary human hepatocytes (PHH) were either treated with CAMs or nucleos(t)ide analogs (Entecavir, Tenofovir) during or after HBV infection. HBV DNA in the cell culture supernatant and intracel- lular HBV RNA were monitored by quantitative real time PCR.
Avatar m tn The FDA-approved drug ezetimibe (sold under the trade-name Zetia) is readily available and perfectly targeted to the receptor, Sainz said, so the researchers had an ideal method for testing NPC1L1's involvement in HCV infection. The researchers showed that ezetimibe inhibited HCV infection in cell culture and in mice transplanted with human liver cells. And, unlike any currently available drugs, ezetimibe was able to inhibit infection by all six types of HCV.
Avatar f tn Leuprolide MOA: if you donĀ“t have any more testicles and prostate, why keep using this drug in PCa?
Avatar n tn You could consider going for a higher dose of Lipitor, another way to go is to consider taking a drug that limits cholesterol absorption such as Ezetimibe. There is a combination drug Simvastatin and ezetimibe that may be better in controlling cholesterol. Discuss these drugs with your doctor. Best of luck to you. Stay positive.
Avatar n tn Drink a lot of water??? What did she base that on??? Was she a MOA or a RN? It matters not, because getting the shot again will not harm you. It might make your wallet thinner. Stop worrying.
Avatar m tn A recent paper studied the effect of most FDA approved drugs on the inhibition of NTCP, the now known entry receptor for HBV. Ezetimibe was found to have a 50%inhibition conc of 25micromolar, while irbesartan, a commonly used angiotensin inhibitor to reduce blood pressure, was found to inhibit at 11.9 micromolar. Both compounds have similar MW, but irbesartan is given at up to 300mg per day, while exetimibe is dosed at 10mg.
Avatar m tn The common side effects of Savella are vomiting, hot flushes, increased heart rate, hypertension, dizziness etc.People already on MOA oxidase inhibitors, with narrow angle glaucoma, cardiac, liver and kidney disorders should not take Savella. If these symptoms are bothering you a lot seek medical help. Get your blood pressure checked. If your blood pressure is normal these effects may dissipate with time.
Avatar m tn no study for its activity on hbv, we do know it has activity but the trial has never started simvastatin lowers hcc 50% and prevents fibrosis/cirrhosis so it is indicated on all hbver, this has thousands of pateints studied for decades to find this data on hcc you better use simvastatin instead other statins, also ezetimibe has in vitro effect on hbv so these are the best choices on hbvers
232778 tn?1217447111 The hunter is successful and brings home the biggest prize of all, SVR! Your feeling of accomplishment is well-deserved. (I always sorta wondered what kind of animal a 'moa' was... and just substituted the 'moa' with 'hcv' in my own mind!) Your beast has been vanquished! My most heartfelt congratulations. Thanks so much for sharing the good news!
Avatar m tn There was an in vitro study on ezetimibe inhibiting HBV DNA production. The ed50 was fairly low and in a similar range as lamuvidine. So it looked very interesting. But in an in vitro study you have a constant exposure to the drug, which is impossible to achieve in vivo. And the cells used are not the same as regular hepatocytes in human liver, with many differences in gene expression and cellular physiology.
1006041 tn?1250396768 I was given an additional medicine which dramatically decreases the absorbtion of fats through the digestive tract. This is called Ezetimibe and just 10mg reduced my cholesterol a great deal. Maybe your GP could look to attacking your problem from this angle?
Tbd About two years ago my doctor added ezetimibe to my regimen. It has been lowering my bad cholesterol how ever the first of this month I missed taking them for about a week and for the first time in years I felt less fatigued. I do have Fibromyalgia which is usually the cause of my fatigue, but this is a different type of fatigue. I have not restarted either of the cholesterol meds back because I have felt so much better. I know I need to talk to my doctor about it.
Avatar n tn Well, some people do have a lower recurrence rate, but if aldara isn't working for you - and it might still be a bit early to know that - then it won't help recurrence rates. I'm a fan of freezing them. It works MUCH faster, and while some people have to keep going back, others don't have to return at all. Its your call. Perhaps a visit to an std clinic could help sort it all out for you.
Avatar n tn I had very high cholesterol, due to familial hypercholesterolemia, and living on just salad for weeks did nothing for the levels. Statins have worked wonders in bringing the levels down but I also take Ezetimibe which slows absorption of fats through the gut lining. Now I can basically eat what I want and my cholesterol levels are always within the range required. Cholesterol in the blood is not the cause of disease, it's like a side effect from the initial problem.
