swollen

I wake up in the morning with the area around my left eye very swollen. and my eye is slightly "teary". I've been told by and eye doctor that I have allergy eyes, but I've tried allergy meds. and they do not seem to help. and why is it only my left eye? The swelling goes down a little during the day, but settles in a bag and my eye. It looks awful.
My eyes often get swollen after sleeping, could this have caused it? I notice some mornings if I wake up and my eyes are swollen, I see big black circles when I look left to right, kind of like a solar eclipse (do a google image search for bailey's beads). These only happen when I have swollen eyes, and usually only in the morning. Is this all normal?
No one has been able to figure this one out. It is at its worse i the Morning when I wake up. The eye lid is full of fluid, which looks like my tears . It drains slowly throughout the day and fills back up over night. I've taken antibiotics, Steroid drops, ointments . Nothing has worked. I thought it was allergies because the exact same thing happened to me last year and it lasted for 2 months and went away on its own. I don't want to go through another two months of this agony.
my right eye always seems swollen and puffy and always when i wake up. it goes down slightly during the day but its like the puffyness is there to stay and wont ever go away. has anyone had any answers on this?
The doctor prescribed glasses for computer and reading since I am nearing 40 and he says that it seems to be eye strain, but I am not convinced. My eye hurts the minute I wake up and does not get better when I am not reading or working on the computer. I have been getting headaches behind this eye, and have now started to feel pressure next to my nose (sinus?) Some days are worse than others, but seems to be getting worse overall. The other day I took an allergy pill and it seemed to help......

Sometimes I was thinking could be the make up..but during the day I am fine when my make up is on and before I go to bed I take it off and wake up with the red eye..etc? also can you be allergic to baby wipe, that I use to take my make up off? Anyway it's really annoying how can I find out what I am allergic to?
It went down from how it was when I 1st woke, but hasn't really improved after that. Also I noticed when I pull down under my eye(where the "bags " are,) on the inside of the right eye bag its much more red than my left. Hope you get what I'm trying to say. Here's a pic indound on Google to show. http://binrock.net/photos/p/8928 Where they're pulling down, my right isnred like in the pic, left is much lighter and less red.
Hi I have had the swollen eyes (i thought was hayfever first off) and dry eyes in the morning sometimes when I wake up. The last few weeks I have noticed my eyes go pink for no reason. I remember when I was very HypeR at diagnosis, I had the white 'flecks' in front of the eys thinking my blood pressure was too low or too high and an episode of double vison. This settled over time (last 8 months) whilst on ATDS but the eyes still go pink every so often.
if I move my eye around underneath so im having a h-ll of a time sleeping. When I wake up in the morn(after sleeping for a couple of hours which is the most im getting since it hurts so much i cant fall asleep until im absolutelty exhausted) then its really sore. It feels like something is in there and rubbing, and like the eyeball is swollen , altho when I look under the lid(as much as I can) i dont see anything. Ive made an app't with an opthamologist but I can see him for about a week.
**PICTURE INCLUDED** I have this bag under my right eye, which I feel is getting worse by the day. When I wake up, it feels weaker, like I can't even lift my eyelid some days. Is this stress-related? I went to a doctor, and he prescribed a cream med to insert into the lower-eyelid/bag, thinking it was some type of infection. Wrong! It has gotten worse & no doctor seems to know what I'm talking about. It's getting to the point where co-workers are worried if I'm in an abusive relationship!!!
it usually starts with my eyelid itching and getting red, then next morning when I wake up, my eyelids are swollen, sometimes it's only one eye, sometimes it's both eyes. The skin on my eyelid is all bumpy, rough, red, and it itches. I do wear make up, I wear eyeshadow, mascara, and eyeliner, but I have been using the same makeup for the past 3 years, so I don't know if it is my make up causing irritation.
Anyway, the doctor prescribed some antibiotic drops and the swelling has gone down quite a bit, but always seem to come back full power when I wake up. I have been reading a bit and may be it could be blepharitis? Have I been misdiagnosed?
For the last week my eyes have been swollen both top and bottom when i wake up, but through out the day it goes down a bit and then occurs again when i wake up in the morning. i was wondering what could be going on ?

I beleive in callin the vet and they give you advice and they've got ointment they will probably give you to keep eye from irritant and additonal infections.... good luck to you and yours...
So now on top of swelling its producing a ton of protien buildup in my eyelids and on my eyelashes especially when I wake up.. I cant even open my eye some days because its sealed shut. What am I going to do? I know this cant be pink eye.. theres no way it could last this long and not at least effect the other eye or be somewhat painful. I need some advice.. anyone have ANY earthly ideas what it could possibly be?
When i wake up in the morning, my eye is basically sewn shut because of all the gunk built up from what is going on so I have to pry my eye open with my fingers or it won't open. Any suggestions would be great!
My eyes are really swollen when i wake up in the morning and doesn't always go down totally during the day. My eyes are itchy and sore and feel heavy.

I was wondering if there was any kind of mucous disharge with the eyes when you wake up? I ask because I had similar problems , it turned out to be allergies,. I also get styes in my eye, but they either hurt or itch and you would know that!! Hope you get relief soon!
Been using it for 2 weeks and nothing. Some days is better then others. I can be sitting at work and it will flare up, or wake up in the morning and it will be swollen. After being swollen then it starts to turn red, it burns and it cracks and becomes very dry. I use aquaphor, and a warm washcloth for my dry cracked eyes and a cold frozen washcloth for my swollen eyes :( this is really starting to becoming a problem for me.... 2 months into this!!!
Both my eyes get bloodshot every night. When I wake up in the morning they are still bloodshoot but they clear up with in about an hour. They stay clear until about 7:00 pm. My left eye has a swollen eyelid and had a stye for about 2 months. One day this eyelid became very irritated until a bb sized white deposite came out of the eyelid. The eylid is still swollen and when I metioned it to my eye doctor he told me to put a hot compress on it. The compress did not help.
I have the same issue, my eye lid only on the left side is red, itchy, and swollen when i wake up. Then the swollen goes away after 20 minutes, then it swells up the next morning. What is the cause of this????
I've been asked if I've been in a fight, have I had any sleep, etc.., This Morning, I woke up and my right eye (especially the bag underneath) was really straining to open. When I finally did get it open, my right temple started to have a shooting pain, as if it was the worst migraine ever. The pain lasted only a few seconds, but I had to curl up it was so bad. No eye doctors want to help me in my area with Charity Care. I have included a picture. I am embarrassed to take pictures with friends.
Every morning I wake up with both upper eyelids puffed up and swollen. It is much worse if I have cried, even slightly the day before. The swelling eventually will go down if I use compresses but then I am left with loose, crinkly skin. I have tried all sorts of things- no water before bed, elevating my head, eye lubricant(my apt. is dry), clariten. Some days are definitely worse than others. I suspect I have an allergy but how does one figure that out?
For the past year, the eyelids around my right eye are swollen in the morning when I wake up. The swelling tends to go down during the day. I've had an MRI of my head and that showed nothing. Several years ago I had inflammation behind my right ear, but that went away. An ophthalmologist found nothing.
I have suffered with allergies for about 15 years, mostly occasional sneezing and itchy skin when in contact with some cats. The main problem is a blocked up nose, I have had allergy testing which confirm allergies to cats, dogs and rabbits, and a mild allergy to pollen. I have also have asthma which is under control. I have used various anti-histimines and nasal steroid sprays with some success.
My roommates have noticed and informed me that due to bulged eyes when I am asleep I keep my eyes open. Sometimes while I am sleeping I noticed my eyes water a lot and in the middle of sleep I wake up due to burning and rush to restroom real quick to wash them. The opthalmologists have suggested that I need to go through a surgery to reduce the bulging of eyes and I am scared of it.
I can't bear to look at screens of any sort. When i wake up in the morning my eyes feel worse and they are very swollen. If I've simply strained my eyes what do i do to correct this and how long will it take? Could it be something more serious? I don't have insurance so a Optometrist appointment is gonna run high, is it necessary?
