My boyfriend saw two eye docotors this week in regards to a lump under his eye. The lump is hard and a little bit larger then a pea. Neither doctor was really certain on just what this lump was and both seemed quite concerned so I am a little worried about the course of treatment they have decided to go.
In the corner of my eye (not the tear duct, this is not a sty) there is a lump and it's giving me a headache also. Nothing like this is happening on the left side. Someone told me that this is an eye allergy with an inflammed gland and to try Naphcon A and do warm compresses. I have done this but there is no relief. Do you agree that this is an eye allergy or should I see a doctor?
Hi, your symptoms of a lump with pain underneath the eye could be due to stye, this is caused due to blockage of secretory glands situated in the eyelid. This can lead to infection of the gland, causing symptoms of pain, redness and swelling. The other causes could be due to injury, xanthelasma (yellow patches), papillomas or cysts. You will need to consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. Regards.
Can you see the skin where the bump is? Otherwise, my first guess would be a localized infection. These aren't usually to big a deal, but you should keep an eye on it and get antibiotics if it grows and doesn't drain on it's own. As a new outdoor cat, he's probably doing some scrapping and will pick up these little injuries. Otherwise, if you can describe the skin tone of the bump, and if he reacts as if it's painful to touch, it would be helpful.
I found a hard, almost sharp lump on Misha this weekend when petting her. It's on the same side that she had that cancer removed last Winter. I'm hoping it's just scar tissue but why did it seem to spring out of nowhere, almost overnight? And it's much bigger than the last lump she had. It also feels different. The other one was hard to find. This one almost feels like a hip bone sticking out but it's just on one side.
Just under a week later there was no improvement and the area probably looked even worse. The lump was hard with a tiny yellow or white head to it. I squeezed the head to empty the contents but the problem seemed to be the painful mass below it. The area did leak a minute amount of clear fluid.
Extremely contagious, it spreads easily by eye to hand to eye contact, a runny nose or cough, or when people come into contact with a contaminated surface or object. If severe enough or long lasting, it can eventually lead to corneal scarring that can cause glare and decreased vision. Experts recommend not going to work or school if you have sore eyes or symptoms of sore eyes until symptoms are relieved and treatment is successful.
My 7 year old dog has a lump on her eyeball in the white of her eye. We noticed it as we put eye drops in. She had conjunctivitis 6 weeks ago. Now, the whites of the eye are clear, but, the lump is bigger and pink/reddish in color. I took her to the vet again today and was told to go to an Opthalmologist. The vet said it could be nothing, a cyst or at the worst cancer. Oh my! I can't get anOpthalmologist appointment for 6 weeks. Any idea what this may be?
I am goin to doctor in a few days and the lady at the chemist said it isn't a stye it's probably am eye infection but going to check with doc incase it is
My dog is on antibiotics for an eye problem Will this also help the newly discovered ear cyst?
It's likely a small infection somewhere in her body and her lymph nodes are now swollen as they are fighting off the infection. I'd take her to her primary doctor, they'll likely give her an antibiotic or just tell you to keep an eye on it. Probably nothing serious, but just to be on the safe side, let them take a look.
I've been using fusidic acid eyedrops for the last week because of a suspected eye infection - one eyelid had massive swelling which ended up as a large lump in the outer corner of the upper eyelid. Most of the swelling has gone now, but my eyelid is a strange yellowy colour, almost like it's bruised? Is this normal? It's starting to concern me...I suffer with anxiety anyway, so any help that anyone could give would be massively appreciated - thank you!
Enlargement of inguinal lymph nodes is commonly caused by an acute infection. The infection could be in the genitourinary tract. There are times when even with resolution of infection, these lymph nodes remain enlarged. Other conditions that can present with enlargement of inguinal lymph nodes include lymphomas and carcinomas. It would be best to go back to your doctor for further evaluation. Take care.
I bput alcohol on the back of my ear on that lump, but i would keep an eye on it cause it can turn out to be something more than that.
I have a semi-hard lump directly behind my ear resting on the bone right behind my ear. It feels almost like cartilage. It used to be about the size of a pimple, but it just keeps getting larger. I recently checked it and it is about an inch in length now. The lump occasionally itches and seems to just keep growing. It doesn't hurt at all and is slightly movable. Any thoughts on what this might be??? Anyone worried??
I went to the gp last week and received an antibiotic for a sinus infection. Unfortunately, I still have the headache. Fortunately, I don't have a sinus infection. I have had a lump on my left forhead for about 2 years, but in the last 6 months it has rapidly grown. It is bone, like someone implanted a half marble under my skin into the bone (the skin moves freely over the lump). I think I am finally starting to put 2+2 together.
In fact it seems bigger but with less swelling of the surrounding areas such as my forehead and left eyelid probably due to ibuprofen. The lump itself is painful especially in the corner of the eye socket. Whether its just from the location or the actual bump i can't distinguish but it hurts like hell. I have been having constant pressure behind my eyes and headaches since its formation. I am 29, a little overweight but relatively healthy however i do smoke cigarettes.
Hi, I am a 20 year old male. I have had a hard lump behind my right ear for years now...at least 4 or 5. It feels like part of my skull but it is not on the left side of my head so i know that it's not. I asked my doctor about it when i was younger and he said it was a swollen lymph node and should go away at some point. It never did, however, it also never caused me any discomfort so i never got it looked at again.
I noticed it about 8 months ago...does not seem to have gotten any bigger. It can not be seen by the naked eye and when the muscle is contracted deeper pressure is needed to feel it so it feels like it is either attached to or below the muscle. I have had 3 different collegues feel it and they all say it does not feel like a hardened node, but everything I read say if its hard, nonmobile, its bad. Has Anyone else ever have a rock hard non-mobile mass like this in this location??
I read it could just be her body fighting the infection. Should I get her to the doctor or should I just keep an eye on the lump for a few days? She is 8 years old.
ive had this small lump recently on my eyelid (its almost practically on my eyeleashes) i noticed it around 2 months ago, it gets itchy, sometime hurts as if my eyelashes just got pulled off, my mum said it was nothing, except around the first week i noticed it my friends started pointing it out n i complained to my mum about it but she says its just skin.

I'm 22 years old and some time ago, I discovered a lump about an inch above my penis. I'm not experiencing any pain from it, and it's not noticable to the eye. However, I'm still concerned. Any thoughts?
I saw my primary earlier this week for abnormal vaginal discharge/blood, severe pelvic pain, nausea, and breast pain. She did an exam (not cool at all), and felt a lump on the outside of my left breast, and ordered a bilateral breast U/S "just to be sure it is just a cyst". Also, the pain and discharge are due to a yeast infection, which I am on antibiotics for. I am a 29, almost 30 (eww) year old woman. No children. Not ever sexually active.
When i woke up this morning i noticed a red lump on my left breast. Its not raised on the skin but when i touch it i can feel a kind of ball shaped lump, just bigger than a pea i'd say. on the surface it's just smaller than the size of a 2p. one side of it is kind of blue looking, and the majority of it is red. its located to the left of my nipple. not directly on it, but about a cm away. before i jump to conclusions i just wanted to check someones opinion.
I noticed a couple weeks ago that I had a small lump underneath my scalp. You can't even tell it is there unless you feel it, because it looks just like part of the scalp. It also seems hard, but I prefer not to touch it. It is on the right side of my head, probably an inch, maybe less from my hairline.
