Avatar m tn Unprotected sex insured and 3 and a half days later I noticed that my eyes were red, My first thought was i had contracted Conjuuntivitis from the local Swimming pool. However i began to think worse thoughts as i have swum in the pool many time before with no problems. It is a well maintained pool to the highest standards (being Japan Chlorine level and general hygiene levels are very high.).
Avatar m tn My friend whom I know slept with a prostitute pee into my inflatable pool and I am worried that it somehow caused infection (ex through the eye). The pool is very small, maximum 3 people could fit in it and its height is same as the distance from the foot to knee. I did not change the water for days as I was not aware of this. My 10 years old sister also used this pool. Do you see any risk of HIV here?

Avatar n tn The last infection was in January and I also got conjunctivitis in my left eye (only). Could the eye infection have been a result of the bacteria from my sinuses? Avatar n tn Avoid touching the unaffected eye and refrain from sharing pillows, wash cloths, eye drops, or eye makeup with others. You can also get culture and sensitivity studies to identify infectious organisms. If the symptoms persist then pls consult an eye specialist.
1603306 tn?1370614713 Hi, welcome to the forum, there seems to be mucopurulent drainage from the puncta occurs when there is bacterial growth in the stagnant tear pool of the lacrimal sac called as acute dacryocystitis. It also present with erythema, swelling, warmth, and/or tenderness of the lacrimal sac. There seems to be secondary complication of the surgery. This needs to be treated with topical antibiotics.

2114467 tn?1358210256 I agree with OH on the aloe, but keep an eye on infection. I cut my cuticle not too long ago and it got pretty nasty. Antibiotic ointment did help that.
Avatar m tn The blood usually pools in two same spots in each eye, the first pool sort of stems from the side of the eye closest to the nose(not sure what its called) and leads all the way to the pupil. The second is sort of below the eye but a little closer to the opposite side of the nose leading in a diagnoal line. Always the same spots. Has anyone ever experienced this before? I cannot find anything on the internet which describes this problem.

Avatar m tn I didnt think much of it until that night i saw bats dive bombing the pool. I have no idea if squirrils or raccoons has access to the pool. There was definite contact with the pool water by the bats. Im guessing saliva entered the pool water. The lady at the office said that since it was the colder season they only checked the pool chemicals once a week instead of once daily. Is this a risk for rabies? i guess pool water could have gotten in my eyes/nose etc.
Avatar m tn You may have infected your eye from the throat infection and it might be cleared by the Azithromycin if it is the same organism that is causing the problem. But usually they give you eye drops for an eye infection that have antibiotics in them, so I'm not sure if the oral med will care of the problem. You could also have an allergy, virus in the eye or have accidently got something else in your eye. Try eye drops and if it doesn't clear up in a day or two then see an eye doctor.
Avatar n tn Eventually, he threw one that was filled with water across the pool and it hit me directly in the eye. For the next two days, my vision was blurry and I went home today and got it checked out. My hyphema is located on the side of my iris and not the bottom of my eye. I was wondering if I would be able to things like play video games with the brightness down all the way and wear sunglasses at the same time?

Avatar f tn Is it possible to have gotten Herpes from having sex in the pool? I need an answer from a doctor please. This discussion is related to Chances of contracting herpes Question.
Avatar m tn Hi nightrunner21, Both gonorrhea and chlamydia can infect the eye, but it's true that you could have a viral eye infection not related to a STD. Other STDs can infect the eye, too. You need to go visit with a Eye MD (ophthalmologist) so that these can be ruled out. Syphillis and HIV need to be checked off the list, too. Best of luck!
1413519 tn?1281818201 This has happened before, possibly 2 other times in the past 10 years. Past times resulted in mild eye infection that was treated by our doctor w/ drops. This time he got a severe infection that he treated for 2 weeks with little results. He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink. Although his redness has diminished, his pupil is HUGE and he has very poor vision from that eye.

Avatar n tn Wash your clothes, bed linen daily separately from others. Other than this, it can even be glaucoma. Needless to say, consult an eye specialist immediately. Take care!
