I´d like to have your opinion about different treatments for chlamydial eye infection. Treatments are Doxycycline 100mg, Azythromycin 1g, Erythromycin ointment, Chlortetracycline ointment and Azythromycin drops.
Could you please evaluate them using different criteria such as efficacy againts chlamydia, tissue penetration, duration of treatment, side effects?
Condition is unilateral chlamydial conjunctivitis for more than 6 months causing eye tearing, corneal infiltrates, meibomitis, dry eye.
Right after Christmas the 28th to be exact I had horrible pain behind my left eye with movement, and it was slightly blurry. I had an eye check up the next day so I addressed it with her. My pressures were all normal. She was concerned and wanted me to contact my Neuro because she thought I could be suffering from Optic Neuritis; nothing I took helped my discomfort. I called him, and he blew it off. This discomfort went on for 3 weeks mind you.

I have been wearing contacts for 2 years and many times they have been stuck in my eye, I have always removed them shortly after and never had a problem. I wear Night and Day, so I sleep in my contacts. This morning my right contact was stuck in the corner of my eye, causing pain. About 15 minutes later I removed it, and then realized the vision in my right eye was significantly worse than my left. It is slightly better when I wear my glasses, but is still very poor.

I made a regretful mistake 5 weeks ago and had unprotected oral sex from a CSW. Approximately 5 days after the exposure I felt itchiness in my left eye, the next day my eye was slightly red then by the following day my left eye was very red and had swollen eyelid. I went to the doctor who prescribed tobramycin and started taking this thinking it may be bacterial in nature but it did not seem to help.
Hence if the headaches persist for longer, you must investigate for other causes like refractive errors and other eye problems. This should be the first step. A CT scan or MRI of brain should also be done. Third is posture related headaches where a child who has a bad posture or uses computers a lot develops neck strain and subsequent headaches. Consult an eye specialist or a neurologist regarding this. It could be migraine but rule out other causes.
I am awaiting blood tests and the last MRI to come back. I am confused as to the eye problems. I have had two bouts of vertical double vision (crystal clear) for less than 2 minutes.
Now I consistently have vertical double vision with contrasting objects. Night time or day as long as the objects are light and dark.
The Brain MRI came back with slight inflammation of the LEFT optic nerve. He did a VEP which came back with problems with the RIGHT eye.
I'm referring to eye bright being used directly on the eye. There are commercial eye drops that contain it such "Similasan Allergy Eye Relief " or "eyebright drops wisdom of the ages"
I've tried some antihistamine eyedrops such as Zaditor but they irritate my eyes.
If the swelling size is any indication of the infection, the infection is much worse. The swelling is very large, even my mouth is slanted due to the pulling of the skin around the swelling. Since the infection is resistant to anti-biotic, what is the next step? The hospital ER(s) that I called yesterday said they have no oral surgeon on call and to see an oral surgeon Monday. None of the oral surgeons have emergency numbers.
Hello Dr I am 37 years old and today as I walked out of a store I felt something going on with my left eye my friend who happened to be with me said my left eye was getting bigger than the right, this is the first time this happens and it only lasted for about 15-20 seconds then went back to normal should I be concerned or why did this happen?
I have had an abnormal pupil dilation in my right eye for over a month now and sinisitis that's worse on my right side ethmoid sinisis, frontal and spenoid(this showed up from a CT scan). My pupil's will react to light but the right pupil is alway's bigger and it's more noticible in dim light or when I'm looking at something close up. I have also noticed that the right pupil lean's more towards the left during dim light or when I'm looking at something close up.
I was bitten in NC by a tick a month ago. the red dot that formed after I was bitten in still there. There is no bull's eye, rash, or pain, but I'm wondering how long a red dot should stay, and if I should have my doctor check it out just in case.
You have an inflammation of the cranial nerves, which is generally the result of a viral infection. The infection is sometimes (but by no means always) herpes. Rarely it is due to a neuroma. The nerves are being impinged on due to swelling. Usually the duration is self-limiting from three weeks to two months. Treatment is prednisone for a week, then a taper and ibuprufin every day, 400 mg in two divided doses.
You may have infected your eye from the throat infection and it might be cleared by the Azithromycin if it is the same organism that is causing the problem. But usually they give you eye drops for an eye infection that have antibiotics in them, so I'm not sure if the oral med will care of the problem. You could also have an allergy, virus in the eye or have accidently got something else in your eye. Try eye drops and if it doesn't clear up in a day or two then see an eye doctor.
With no oral sex involved, is there a risk of re infection? Even though we were both extremely careful to wash up and clean immediatly after sex?

Both gonorrhea and chlamydia can infect the eye, but it's true that you could have a viral eye infection not related to a STD. Other STDs can infect the eye, too. You need to go visit with a Eye MD (ophthalmologist) so that these can be ruled out. Syphillis and HIV need to be checked off the list, too. Best of luck!
my left eye is stuck in the corner by scar tissue so my right eye is my primary eye i usai tried eye drops and over the counter remedies i read on line but when i wake up my eye is hard to open because of the crust the accumulated during the night. I am alsso betwen jobs and for the first time in my life i have no health insurance.
