Common Questions and Answers about Exercise bike gel seat

Avatar m tn Hi: Do you ride a bike or an exercise bike with a hard seat? If so, this is one possible cause of the nerve issue. I ride a mountain bike, and deal with a similar situation you describe at times.
Avatar m tn Hello I'm 22 years old and for the past 2-3 days have had some discomfort/pain in my right testicle. Around Sunday I had the pain like I've been kicked in the nuts. It's now Wednesday the pain is still occuring but not as painful as it was on Sunday. Last Wednesday I have been doing work on an exercise bike to try and get fit. I'm in reasonably good shape. I used to be an athlete till a knee injury and work commitments prevented me from training as usual.
Avatar f tn Nothing crazy, smooth road biking with nice wide seat on fairly flat paths. Had sacrocolpopexy in 2015 using da Vinci robotic arm. Cystocele is back. Surgeon blames it on bike riding even though she told me before that cycling would be a safe exercise. I need a second opinion about how to proceed from here. Looking for great southern California urogynecologist for second opinion regarding repair and safe exercise.
Avatar n tn I am a 75 year-old male with a PSA of 4.5 at my last yearly physical. Prostate related symptoms are having to get up 3 or 4 times a night and painful and weak stream. My doctor is a young man who referred me to an older, experienced urologist who seems to know all the right questions to ask. The new Dr.
902868 tn?1242156798 I try riding a bicycle and it hurts me so bad on where my buttocks bones sits on the seat, that it is torture! I even have a nice silicone padded seat, and so does my husband on his bike. His rear end does hurt at all, but mine does. Is the buttocks another trigger point area for fibromyalgia sufferers? I just can't seem to enjoy anything without pain. I am so tired of living this way.
Avatar f tn U can swim. With the bike, it needs to have a seat with a back support, not like a real bicycle- too much pressure on the perineum otherwise. You can dance- try a gentle class if u dont already. I take pilates run by a specialist womens physiotherapist who tailors the class to u specifically. Its really small and expensive, but worth it.
Avatar f tn Done correctly, this can be a challenging exercise. For the everyday gym, strapping your feet in, sitting on the sliding seat and grabbing the handle is enough to start burning calories. When rowing, try to keep the rate-of-pull constant, not jerky. If you choose, you can isolate your arms, lower back, or legs. I could keep going but i think you got the idea!
5049711 tn?1364572195 My hub has a bike and I've been dying to go out for a ride - I know once the baby comes we're not gonna be able too - Do you think it's alright if I go out? I'm 38 weeks and 3 days...
Avatar m tn I am a 75 year-old male and my GP detected a 4.4 on the PSA and referred me to a urologist. The Urologist had his nurse take a blood for further analysis, and he then interviewed me and one of his questions was, "Do you use an exercise bike?" and I told him that I did, and for a half-hour before each meal.
Avatar n tn I have no back pain and other than blood in my urine, I am of fairly good health. Is it common to have blood in urine after bike rides? I have been riding for 4+ years and have never experienced this in the past. Your help is appreciated.
Monkey Right at present I only have a exercise bike available to me and we generally have not nice winters for walking. Cold does not bother me but worry about the ice so my question is this. Will it be beneficial for me to just use the bike on days when cannot walk, is that going to help with my weight and exercise program.
Avatar f tn I am wondering what you guys do for exercise with Cm and syringomelia. My Dr said to walk or swim. I bought a bike, the recumbent type. The first time I used it the next day I have severe headaches, "migraine" worthy. Any chance this is a coincidence?
1237562 tn?1360989580 For the first few weeks I could still exercise. I tried to ride the recumbent bike and walked for a total of 20 to 30 min. per day. Once my severe fatigue set in around week 4, and my hemoglobin started dropping below 10, I rode the bike but kept my heart rate under 120 BPM as I didn't want to risk a heart attack. My heart was already pumping harder due to the lack of oxygen from low Hgb. and I'm a former smoker.
Avatar f tn I just stick to walking... whether its outside or on a treadmill. You can go bike riding as well. Squats, lunges... simple stuff. Don't do anything where you are putting strain on your body or where you won't be able to catch your breath.
1378309 tn?1551270038 t really face this again for a few months. I was considering trying to bike or even swim for exercise instead if the walking pain continued. I wish you the best!
Avatar m tn At our office parking, there is water drops leakage from the pipes which are connecting toilets. Those drops are falling on my bike seat from the third floor. One drop of water (toilet waste water) from my bike seat came into my eye suddenly. Am I at danger of HIV? What if, if that drop has a HIV infection? need to wait for hell of 3 months?
Avatar m tn I have read about bike seats that may cause compression on the veins and bought a new seat. However, I am scared that it may not comeback, so I stopped biking and exercising altogether. Just to add, I am taking orlistat for fat reduction, losartan and metropolol for maintenance. Is this a normal reaction? Or maybe an underlying concern? And how would I make it normal? Please help.I can’t seem to find a forum that discusses this thoroughly and professionally.
Avatar f tn nothing high impact. you can still exercise but can't allow yourself to over heat, let your heart rate get too high etc. the moment you feel yourself heating up with the red sweaty face and start panting its time to take a break. walking, swimming and jogging are all ok. i walk miles every day right up to the day before baby boy arrived at 42weeks. you can cycle on a stationary exercise bike, they recommend you don't go on a normal bike cause your balance is affected while pregnant.
12693075 tn?1442246392 I walk & use the stationary bike every week. My goal is 10 miles a week. I was doing more pre pregnancy. I didn't exercise much in my 1st trimester because I was so tired. My 2nd trust is almost over and I'm hoping I can keep exercising! I also use free weights fir my arms and some machines. I don't do more than 25lbs but make up for it with more reps! Exercise is good for endurance! Im hoping my delivery goes well because ive stayed active!
Avatar f tn I personally think it has a lot more to do with diet rather than the kind of exercise one is doing. But with that said, I do varied amount of cardio exercise to keep it mixed up. Some days I hit the tread mill, some days the bike, some days the eliptical machine and some days I'll do a good amount of 2 of the 3. Are you incorporating weight training into your program?
Avatar n tn Do you have a bike? If you do then you can convert your own outdoor bike into an indoor exercise machine easily and inexpensively with an indoor trainer or roller. Which one is best for you depends on your preferences, goals and fitness experience. To convert your bike to an indoor machine using a trainer, you affix your back wheel into an elevated mount and your front wheel rests on a plastic block.
Avatar f tn Walking, swimming, yoga, bike riding........
Avatar f tn Thanks for sharing ladies. I was walking/jogging recently and plan to continue. I also have a stationary bike and am used to doing weights and elipiticalat the gym. Good luck going forward!
Avatar f tn What kind of excercising are okay to do during pregnancy? Any moms exercise during there whole pregnancy?
483733 tn?1326798446 While playing the waiting game to hear how they are going to treat my issues, is it OK to exercise? I'm not a normally active (exercise wise) person. I don't want to do anything that would cause cysts to burst or twist. What do you think?
