Avatar n tn My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?
Avatar n tn She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then taken off it after two weeks and more nausea. She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am feeling worthless because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause. Really looking for help here. Any will be gratefully accepted.
Avatar f tn t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon. My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.

She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Recently, she started back on the lower dose of Razadyne. Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.

Avatar m tn can i combine 225mg. of effexor xr with exelon or dexamphetamine to help my sedated or lethargic condition?
Avatar n tn It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.
Avatar f tn I would read the booklet that comes with the patch or consult a pharmacist about the side effects as eye issues are not common with estrogen. Perhaps you need a smaller patch - you can trim your patch to help - I do that sometimes.
Avatar f tn I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
Avatar f tn The patch had been replaced approximately 24 hours prior. She has been on the Fentanyl Patch (100 mcg) for about 3 years and uses a tegaderm patch over it to hold it in place. It was on her stomach. She always places the patches on her stomach or upper arm in a fatty area. This is the 4th ER visit in the past 12 months due to withdrawals. Why is her body not absorbing the medication?
Avatar m tn Open the area at base of skull to decompress the brain while that is still open he opens up another area just above the first and harvest the white skin material that is attached to skull and then uses that harvested material for the patch. No rejection issues and no repeated surgeries. The only surgeon doing this is at the University of Washington Dr. Richard Ellenbogen. He is on the cutting edge of chiari surgeons. DO NOT LET YOUR SURGEON PUT A FOREIGN OBJECT IN YOU DURING CHIARI SURGERY!!

4194487 tn?1370046144 I use the pill because I have trust issues with everything else hahaha. But my sister uses the patch cause she was forgetting to take her pill all the time and so far its worked for her...it straightened out her irregular period and even cleared up her acne.
Avatar f tn Lets get the basics out of the way. 51 yo female. 2.5 years dx DM II Out of nowhere, I got double vision. After 3 days of rest, went back to the doctor and was seen by ophthalmologist who diagnosed the diplopia. From what I have read in my file, I have intermittent exotropia. Doctor released me with no further follow up or treatment until I meet with neuro-ophthalmologist in 30 days. What do I do in the meantime?? I am afraid to drive because of the double vision.
Avatar n tn There is a Capsaicin cream. It is considered alternative medicine. My friend uses it on a arthritic knees and claims it really works at least for a short periods. Capsaicin (pronounced cap-SAY-sin) is the active ingredient in chili peppers. It's what gives chili peppers their kick. When it is applied to the skin, capsaicin cream has been found to deplete substance P—a neurochemical that transmits pain—which desensitizes a person to pain.
Avatar f tn Another thing I used before the pain went away was a numbing patch called a lidoderm patch. It is not a narcotic. It is a numbing patch with an ingredient like a dentist uses. My Dad is using it now for his knee pain. No side effects for me unless it kept me awake some times. You can wear it for 12 hours at a time, then take it off I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I've actually been wondering for quite a while if thyroid meds could be delivered via "transderm patch", like they do with motion sickness meds, birth control hormones, etc. Yes, they would be especially great for delivering a continuous dose of T3, but they would have their uses for T4 also. For one, they would bypass the gut and all the interections with food and problems with absorbtion. I actually emailed the question to Abbott a while back.
966444 tn?1254100169 Went to ER and they said it was an allergic reaction to the nicotine patch I took it off, and the next morning hives. The next morning hives again and I started searching on the internet and figured I would take an acid reducer and the benedryl, this morning no hives, but I have this pain in my ribcage and esophegas like something is stuck. Now I started my period two weeks early and I don't know what the heck is wrong with me.
3112631 tn?1356653557 I will have my dura opened this surgery along with plate inserted and muscle repair. My ns is a true chiari specialist and only uses the own tissue for the patch. Its a piece of tissue/muscle from different area on my head between my skull and scalp. Hope that helps a little!!
