Excessive sneezing in dogs

Common Questions and Answers about Excessive sneezing in dogs

sneeze

Saturday night we received a small dusting of snow in Montreal, (yes very early even by our standards) and when I awoke Sunday AM the sneezing started. In the past though sparingly in the past year, I would have small sneeze attacks after stepping out of the shower in the morning and it would go away after getting dressed, these "shower attacks" don't happen as often anymore.
It was intense but only lasted like 5 seconds. Next, I woke up in the am with a sneezing fit. After I was done, my whole lower abdomen was sore and I couldn't sleep to my left because that pain I had while walking the dog came back. Went back to sleep on my back and when I woke up, it was gone. Maybe just a little sore. Think I'm ok? I'm a little worried. Thanks and sorry this post was long winded.
9 years ago, I had a breakdown and afterwards moved into a place for 6 months where the lady let her dogs run all over the beds. I had cats in my childhood and was fine with them, until developing a cat fur allergy in the last 4 years of their life, and ever since then. Since moving out of the lady's house, I have ever since had the most almighty, hacking, crackly, phlegm producing cough which sounds very similar to a smokers cough-I have NEVER ever smoked in my life.
My symtons include excessive thin mucus in upper sinus, sometimes I can blow it our clear; in the middle way, I have crust accumulated in my nostril and sometimes I can pick and get it out (quiet a bit); and in my lower breath path or deep in my throat, I have thickened mucus and gel like tiny balls and hard to get them out. I have tried different things to reduce the mucus secreation. However none of them has been proven effective or without side effect. Lately I started to us SinusWars2.
I lived in a granny flat on a property that houses two dogs and five cats (two of the cats are my own and live exclusively with me). About six months ago, my landlady adopted another cat whose owner was leaving town. Edward is about 2 years old and seems a bit depressed. My landlady's male cats were not neutered and became very territorial as they hit adolescence, marking all territory in sight. Edward has, on and off, lived with me - partly due, I think, to the other cats being territorial.
not a good idea to have kitty eating the dogs food, there is such a difference in essential ingredients unique to each breed. Most allergies will show up on the skin, similar to our allergies exhibiting to us as sneezing or runny eyes....so I would try a change to a good hypoallergenic diet as described on many other posts you can read back on....or a change at least away from food containing poultry products....
This would normally be for Senior Dogs...... Heart Disease is NOT a death sentence.....It's rather common in dogs! Dogs can live many ,many years on medications just like humans can.....Meds. to improve function of the heart & also lasix to clear fluid from the lungs......An EKG or ECG can detect what part of the heart is having a problem.....They usually run around $100.....Some Vets will suggest this test, some will not...They will just go ahead and treat...
Some reasons for coughing: First, Heart Disease- With Heart Disease, the weak heart cannot pump as well...Fluid builds into the lungs causing the cough..The cough is usually MOIST like they're choking on congestion...Actually, they are...The cough is worse in the mornings & during periods of running, playing & excitement....Fluid will show in an xray..... Next- Kennel Cough- This is a virus and antibiotics will do nothing.....
There are so many reasons your dog could be having a nose bleed. The excessive sneezing episode that you mention could have caused a small blood vessel to break or it could just be from an allergy as you stated also. He has been through alot recently. You haven't said how old Wentworth is but judging from his picture he does not look to be up there in age but you never know. Retrievers get nose bleeds alot it seems.

yet none of you seem to have mentioned that as something you found on line too? When I typed in excessive dog licking every link I had come up was about seizures!! I am so scared & I am praying this will soon stop...and never happen again & she is my sweet sweet girl, like my daughter & it is killing me seeing her go through this & I feel so helpless.

I don't have much to offer you... pretty much everything you need is in these posts, in yourselves, and in your connections with other people. I never took tramadol, but opiates were one of several substances I was addicted to when my sky fell some years before tramadol was introduced. I believe absolutely that the primary characteristics of tramadol withdrawall are substantially the same as opiate withdrawall.
I've seen this thread many times before and it just hit me today that just like dogs, humans also have dander. In fact, dogs can be allergic to us. I wonder if people are allergic to the poster's dead skin cells (dander?) There may be something different about his/her skin cells ? Just a crazy thought that crossed my mind ! Who knows ?
Please make yourself at home in Part 31 ...
My cat Cloud was 16 years old. He began coughing and sneezing in April, and when I saw blood droplets in the sneezing I tool him to the vet. He dad strong heart, the air was going to the lungs, his temperature was normal, but he lost weight. The vet suggested MRI thinking it is cancer. He recommended Convenia thinking there was an infection.
obsessive-compulsive disorder premature ejaculation PTSD --Seizures have been reported in humans receiving excessive single oral doses (700 mg) or large intravenous doses (300 mg). However, there have been several rare cases of people having grand-mal seizures at doses as low as 100–400 mg orally. --Fewer than 1% of users have a presumed incident seizure claim after their first tramadol prescription.
Within a few minutes of entering a room, people begin coughing and/or sneezing.(By the way, it's always 2 coughs in a row.) I am not sick at all but everyone around me becomes sick upon meeting me. Doctors have told me that it's just allergy season, but this has been going on for a couple years! Besides the endless coughing and sneezing, other symptoms that people develop include: itching around the eyes and nose, acne (on face and neck), sores on the outer lips, and fatigue.
Check out the rest of the forums here - we've all been talking in several about the same issues. Know exactly where you're coming from. So tired and feel so bad you can't function at all....sinus pressure, and seems most of us have had CT Scans, been to ENTs, and been on all the same meds. So far Prednisone has helped me....but today's my last pill and I'm praying I won't go back to where I was, which was totally unable to function.
The technique in this manual involves bending over in a hot shower. Obviously, if you bend over in a shower, there is a slight possibility that you can get dizzy and fall down. You could possibly hit your head, get knocked out, or break something. It’s a tiny risk, greater if you are older, overweight, obese, or have reduced blood flow in your neck arteries, but it’s a risk you must assume if you want get rid of an otherwise untreatable sinus infection.
Hi There Dear Friends & Tramadol Warriors! Welcome to Part 26. Come on in and make yourself at home. We are delighted you came to join us. Lots to learn, lots to teach ...
I was also given a asthma reliever inhaler...which I tried and does not seem to help in the slightest. In the meantime my coughing steadily got worse. I found during these sudden attacks my nose would suddenly stream at the same time..and I had to rush to the toilet so as to not have a bladder accident. All this coughing has badly affected my bladder control. Sometimes I would cough so badly I would vomit at one point I was vomiting everyday!!
All bloodwork was normal. Took a job in Iraq where I am currently. Arrived in Feb. In Jun, I was sick with extreme fatigue, headaches, and dizziness. Saw a doctor in Jul and was given OTC headache meds. They did bloodwork that came back normal. Since that time I have had daily head pressure and tinnitus. The tinnitus comes and goes and can be really loud and annoying. Visited another doctor in Sep who thought it might be an allergic reaction and was given zyrtec for a month.
I have experienced the same daily " aches" and muscle pains especially in the morning , along with congestion , headache, or severe sinus migraines. I was also told to eliminate wheat from my diet, while drinking a detox shake of supplements and things that detox the body from allergens. Every morning i'd wake up like a truck hit me, stiff, sore, but not my bones. Like it was my muscles. I thought " chronic fatigue syndrome? Fybromyalgia?
What I have always refuted is the idea that we have some PUFFS coming out of us as someone said on that forum. My odor was constant, and not coming out in PUFFS. The coughing and sneezing was constant. This is what I have always stated. Again I am 95% cured, I am eating whatever I want, I exercise regularly, eat fruits and vegetables, and continue my probiotics, and stress relief, and the treatment that my MD suggested. And I am still looking for more proven theories.
