Avatar n tn protein drinks and whey protein drinks aren't bad for growing boys. protein is the fastest way to spur muscle growth. i don't know what part of the world you live in, but you can find both of those products at Trader Joe's if that market is availible to you. If not you can find them at pretty much any health food store, major supermarket, or vitamin shop. some gyms like equinox sell those products also.
Avatar n tn People who take a lot of protein supplements, such as whey protein powder, may see this bubbly urine as well. Why is this? Well, if your body is not breaking down these proteins efficiently, the protein is usually expelled from your body in your urine. The proteins, when combined with the air, then produce a foamy or bubbly urine.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately because pool chemicals such as Cyauronic acid are legally added to pet food to artificially inflate pet food protein levels, it is nearly impossible to accurately determined protein levels, much less protein quality in commercially available pet food.
971283 tn?1247767572 low carbs, low sugar, mostly veggies but use whey protein bars AND whey protein powder for my high protein diet. I find that I am putting on weight and the pain in the finger joints is quite bad right now. What did you do to reverse this ? Should I just stop this protein intake ?
Avatar f tn Hi, I need help to choose good protein powder. I don't get enough protein from my food. I'm exercising 4-5 times a week at least one hour in the gym ( some days classes and some days cardio). My friend recommended to buy protein powder to build muscles and lose more weight. I have been reading a lot that 100% and most natural whey powder is really good but there are so many different ones and I don't know what to choose. Can you help me please?
Avatar f tn Yea I'd try to avoid the protein powder and get the protein I need from the food I eat. I'm a vegetarian so I get my protein from tofu and other foods made from soy, beans, nuts, and dairy products. You don't know all the ingredients in the protein powder so I'd ask my doctor about it.
Avatar n tn Have added whey protein powder to my diet to ingest a much better amount of protein my body should have due to the level of physical activity I perform since I'm just not able to eat enough to get the needed protein. No known allerges to any of this. I do realize that bodies change all the time and allergies can show. A month or so ago the massage therapist did some work on my neck front as I told him it was bothersome and a bit of an ache.

Avatar f tn m not much of a breakfast person but I do love fruit smoothies and I hear that adding protein powder to a shake in the morning could be a good solution. Has anyone ever tried this or known anyone else who has? Really would like to know if its okay.
Avatar f tn Do any of you ladies use protein powder for protein shakes? If so, which kind do you use? I bought the chocolate Special K brand protein shake but after reading the label more carefully I am not sure this is safe to drink. I was hoping to find a premade protein shake or a powder that mixes easily with chocolate milk. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
Avatar f tn This happens due to excess amino acids in sweat (which are breakdown products of protein), seen common with a high protein diet. Also if the diet is rich in cheese, then bacteria of staphylococcus type acts on the sweat and causes this smell of vinegar. Hence to avoid this smell you would need to carefully look at his diet and lower the protein and cheese content in it. Take care!
Avatar f tn I have decided to do smoothies for breakfast and have been told that I need protein in my smoothies to counteract the sugar from the fruit. I was wondering if I should just add greek yogurt or if I should purchase a protein powder. My goal is to lose weight so I don't want a powder that is for muscle building. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn Its obviously the powder because without it I feel great. However, I enjoy training and feel I need a good protein powder. The powder I buy does not come from a specific company. Its one of those powders where you get it yourself. My question is are there any whey protein powders out there with no added trytophan? I need to keep taking it. It also has a good effect on the weight gain side effect snris contribute too.
1827057 tn?1397520277 I just bought a jar of the protein powder that contains all of the aminos.I did not want to go out and buy all of those seperately.I have been drinking it for a couple of days.Do you think that this will take care of my brain rebuilding needs?I hope so.I am now sleeping more and have some more energy but still get out of breath easily even though I run 2-3 miles every day and do not smoke. It reminds me of when I used to smoke years ago.Anyway would appreciate the help.
Avatar f tn I drink whey protein and use it for cookies, I also eat protein bars.
Avatar f tn I'm a little confused -- you say you want more protein. Is this a body building thing, because there are a lot of vegetarian foods high in protein. Brown rice powder isn't one of them -- brown rice protein is, but that's protein isolated from brown rice, whereas hemp powder is just powdered hemp, which as a seed will have some protein but is mostly nutritious for its omega 3 fatty acids. But all nuts are high in protein, as are all beans.
