Common Questions and Answers about Excess protein fat

protein

Avatar n tn s very difficult to eat THAT much protein on a daily basis! I would love to expiriement with a diet made up of 25% fat, 25% protein, and 50% carbs, although, I fear it will make me gain weight, which I am not looking to do. Some sources have stated that it's a matter of total calories, while others have emphasized high protein diets increasing the metabolism. I don't want to start gaining weight, but am curiouse as to what would come of redistributing my macronutrients?
Avatar f tn In general serving sizes in the USA are too big, contain too much fat, salt, etc. Many of us may also suffer from excess iron and one might consider limiting red meat consumption and replacing it instead with either poultry, fish or vegetable based protein sources. All things in moderation (with the possible exception of alcohol) for the most part until advanced staging may cause some dietary modification in one's diet. At least, that is what I think I've understood.
Avatar f tn First, there's a limit to how much you can change the basic shape nature gave you. Some of us just have bigger body parts than others. So the question is whether the size issue is due to fat, in which case you'd probably have excess fat in other places as well, especially the belly and thighs, or just due to your anatomy.
Avatar n tn Add calories to your daily diet by eating more frequently, choosing more calorie-rich foods, having snacks in addition to meals, eating desserts with some positive nutritional properties and drinking smoothies, milk or juice with meals during the day instead of water. Make nutritionally sound choices from the core food groups, including low-fat dairy, lean protein, fruits, vegetables and whole grains, but don’t shy away from calorie-dense options that are also full of nutrients.
Avatar m tn I am a 41 year old male. I am 5'7, 165-170lbs. My mid and upper body, arms, back, and lower legs are all well toned. My problem areas are my lower stomach at and right below the belly button with a bit of excess fat and just a tad bit of love handles on the sides. My "backside" has some excess fat and some cellulite dimples, and the back of my thighs have some slight cellulite dimples.
Avatar n tn Lean meat, chicken, fish, beans, nuts, etc will provide protein. Low/no fat dairy, including milk, cheese, yogurt will also provide protein, along with calcium and other vitamins and minerals -- aim for 3 servings/day of dairy. Veggies will provide plenty of fiber to fill you up, plus vitamins/minerals that your body needs. Your knee problem could be because you are carrying excess weight -- that's a problem that I have also.
Avatar f tn so when you switch to fat burning mode, it will use the fat you eat for energy and then will use the fat on you as energy. You'll burn it fast and you don't have to count calories, you don't have to worry about cravings and low energy, you don't have to worry about your low blood sugar.. your blood sugar will stay at a pretty even level so you won't get the low blood sugar. Stay away from processed foods and fats such as vegetable oils, canola oils..
Avatar f tn As you are growing now you must take protein but do not take more than required for your age. Excess protein is not stored as it happens with fat or carbohydrates (starch or sugar). Hence too much protein induce sexual activities. Try reducing protein rich food and take milk only with enough carbs for a month. Milk is very important although it has high protein. Let milk be there and rest carbs. you will see that you will hardly urged to masturbate.

So, a healthy diet and lots of interval training is the main thing. Then you can make the "man boob" problem less noticeable, by firming up and toning your upper chest area with a decent weights routine and push-ups. Sometimes it's a hormonal issue though (gynecomastia) and surgery or Gynexin pills would be the next step...
Avatar f tn I need to lose 80 lbs. and have osteoarthritis. I've been on a low carb diet twice and both times the arthritis has flared and become quite painful. I think it's an excess of protein. How else can I lose weight? I can't stand being hungry and have good weight loss results with low carb. Help please!
18805833 tn?1468220731 in general for hypoglycemia management the approach is to eat small but regular meals and snacks. These should be low in sugars, but with complex carbs and protein and fat, which together will digest slowly and help maintain normal blood sugars while also avoiding stimulating excess insulin production which are followed by lows. Lows are treated with small amounts of sugars / juice etc. to bring sugars up to target levels.
Avatar m tn The Zone Diet can best be described as a moderate-carbohydrate, moderate-protein, moderate fat diet that has approximately one gram of fat for every two grams of protein and three grams of carbohydrates (the Zone 1-2-3 Method™). These ratios represent the newest dietary recommendations from the Joslin Diabetes Research Center at Harvard Medical School for the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Now, considering your dog has excess protein, this doesn't figure really.... So do try and post your question on the "Ask a Vet" forum. You will eventually get through, even if you have to keep trying. One of the vets there might be able to help you.
Avatar n tn Do you have excess fat anywhere else? Overweight people can have excess fat in the face. Because Gym is right.
1655866 tn?1320498966 in response your body releases insulin, which causes you to convert the excess energy into fat. Foods based on protein, fibrous carbohydrate (chewy veggies, basically) and fats, on the other hand, take a long time to break down and therefore you don't get the same sugar rush - so they don't get converted to fat. The best diet for burning fat consists of quite literally AS MUCH lean protein and fibrous veg as you can eat, along with a smaller amount of good fat.

Avatar f tn I agree that calories are calories; however, by eating the proper type of calories, you can fill up and stay fuller longer. Whereas sugar (whether it be from refined sugar or fructose - fruit sugar) raises your blood sugar almost immediately, which causes it to "spike", then drop down very quickly, which leaves you hungry and craving more sugar; this doesn't happen with protein or fiber.
