Avatar f tn Belly fat is thought to be caused by an excess of simple carbs, such as sugar and white flour. If not burned quickly they store as fat, and the belly is the first place they are stored, which gives rise to the term beer belly -- alcohol is high is sugar and carbs. So along with exercise, the important thing is to eat foods you metabolize well and digest well and cut down on the ones that "stick," such as simple carbs and the wrong kinds of fat.
20620809 tn?1504362969 Here's a list of low glycemic foods... https://universityhealthnews.com/daily/nutrition/glycemic-index-chart/ The food is listed, along with the serving size in parenthesis, then the glycemic value. The lower the glycemic value, the better. There are a lot of other lists available on the internet - just do a search for "low glycemic foods". Most vegetables "qualify" as low glycemic, except things like white potatoes, etc.
Avatar f tn In general serving sizes in the USA are too big, contain too much fat, salt, etc. Many of us may also suffer from excess iron and one might consider limiting red meat consumption and replacing it instead with either poultry, fish or vegetable based protein sources. All things in moderation (with the possible exception of alcohol) for the most part until advanced staging may cause some dietary modification in one's diet. At least, that is what I think I've understood.
1655866 tn?1320498966 t just spot reduce areas of your body, you need to lose weight overall and then the areas that you store excess fat (belly etc) will diminish accordingly. So, a healthy diet and lots of interval training is the main thing. Then you can make the "man boob" problem less noticeable, by firming up and toning your upper chest area with a decent weights routine and push-ups. Sometimes it's a hormonal issue though (gynecomastia) and surgery or Gynexin pills would be the next step...
Avatar n tn The higher the iron contant of food the more chance you will have excess iron storage in your liver, and excess iron has been shown to be the main cause of oxidative stress in the liver. Oxidative stress, (the iron interacting with the oxygen in your blood as it flows through the liver) causes the formation of free radicals which in turn produce cancerous cell growth. Cells of this type, in the liver lead to HCC (hepatic or liver cancer).
Avatar f tn First, there's a limit to how much you can change the basic shape nature gave you. Some of us just have bigger body parts than others. So the question is whether the size issue is due to fat, in which case you'd probably have excess fat in other places as well, especially the belly and thighs, or just due to your anatomy.
Avatar f tn ll feel so much better, inflammation will decrease and your body wieght will drop. Fat storage is a sign of inflammation - food and stress create inflammation, if we can change our foods and stress levels...inflammation and it's symptoms (fat storage) will be gone from the body. You can do it!
Avatar f tn Muscle is active tissue that burns calories around the clock even as you sleep, When you move around, you burn more calories, just like a car will consume more gas the faster you go. Fat, on the other hand, is just a storage of excess energy. It does nothing but sit there with its sole goal in life to be a spare tire around your waist until you put in the effort to burn it off. Please don't make statements unless you've done your research!
Avatar f tn Try eating just vegetables (cooked and raw) and protein, such as chicken and fish, and see if that works. After you’ve lost some weight you can reintroduce fruit into your diet.
Avatar n tn Add calories to your daily diet by eating more frequently, choosing more calorie-rich foods, having snacks in addition to meals, eating desserts with some positive nutritional properties and drinking smoothies, milk or juice with meals during the day instead of water. Make nutritionally sound choices from the core food groups, including low-fat dairy, lean protein, fruits, vegetables and whole grains, but don’t shy away from calorie-dense options that are also full of nutrients.
4784361 tn?1401231107 I didn't mean for you to give up. I've been struggling with hypothyroidism for years and along with that, I've struggled with my weight, when I never weighed more than 120 lbs in my life, before that and that when I was pregnant. You can imagine what if felt like to gain 30 lbs in < 3 months and not be able to get it off, no matter what I did.
Avatar n tn -keep carbs under 20 g/day -keep protein to a minimum - around 30-50 g/ day (200 g chicken breast has 60 g protein); if you eat lots of meat, the excess amino acids in the body are degraded and used for energy or are stored mainly as fat or secondarily as glycogen; this means that if you eat too much meat, your body will transform it in glycogen (or worse, stored it as fat) and use it as primary source of energy instead of burning the fat from the adipose cells and thus, helping with the weig
Avatar f tn my doctor had me on a high protein, low fat, moderate carb diet, with certain exercises, daily and I was still gaining weight in spite of adequate thyroid hormones. At the beginning of this year, I, finally, ditched my doctor's diet, cut my bread consumption by about 75-85%, in other words, my maximum is 1 slice of bread/day or if we have pizza, I don't get bread, etc...
Tbd If you eat too many carbohydrates over the years, your cells become more and more resistant to insulin and it takes more and more to keep your blood level down. You gain weight, because you are eating more carbs than you can use for energy. Your body would rather use glucose from carbs you eat than burn the energy stored in your fat cells for energy, so it says "I'm hungry" and makes you eat more carbs. And then the pancreas has to pump and pump more insulin.
Avatar n tn Low/no fat dairy, including milk, cheese, yogurt will also provide protein, along with calcium and other vitamins and minerals -- aim for 3 servings/day of dairy. Veggies will provide plenty of fiber to fill you up, plus vitamins/minerals that your body needs. Your knee problem could be because you are carrying excess weight -- that's a problem that I have also. I might suggest that you try walking on a daily basis as that will help burn calories, plus keep you moving.
Avatar f tn so when you switch to fat burning mode, it will use the fat you eat for energy and then will use the fat on you as energy. You'll burn it fast and you don't have to count calories, you don't have to worry about cravings and low energy, you don't have to worry about your low blood sugar.. your blood sugar will stay at a pretty even level so you won't get the low blood sugar. Stay away from processed foods and fats such as vegetable oils, canola oils..
Avatar f tn As you are growing now you must take protein but do not take more than required for your age. Excess protein is not stored as it happens with fat or carbohydrates (starch or sugar). Hence too much protein induce sexual activities. Try reducing protein rich food and take milk only with enough carbs for a month. Milk is very important although it has high protein. Let milk be there and rest carbs. you will see that you will hardly urged to masturbate.
