Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Internal Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, USA. ***@**** BACKGROUND/AIMS: Current therapies for patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) do not achieve sustained viral clearance in most patients, and are associated with severe toxic effects. Avatar n tn I was not familiar with "Perianal Abscesses" so I checked out a couple of sights. On one sight it did say that some people are more susceptible to perianal abscesses such as those that have: Diabetes, Aids or HIV, Crohn's or persons on medications that suppress the body's immune system, such as steroids (prednisone, methylprednisolone), or those undergoing chemotherapy for cancer ..........so I do not think that it is indictive of having Crohn's.
Avatar n tn is it possible to have crohn's disease while having none of the symptoms and being on no medications for almost 10 years.

3242115 tn?1447004766 I was told I may have Crohn's Disease due to my symptoms and am waiting to hear back from a specialist as to when I can have a scope done. I also have suffered with Bulimia and know of a few cases where the eating disorder has in fact caused the disease due to the unhealthy ways of eating and then regurgitating the food back up.
Avatar n tn Hello, I had uncontrolled Crohn's back in 2006, ended up perforating my ilieum in 2007. I was on Asacol, Entocort, and numerous other drugs. Since my bowel resection, my symptoms went away...just as quickly as they came on. I stayed on Azothiaprine for 2 years 2007 to Dec 2009 but have now stopped that too. I don't know if this helps but I eat off the Maker's Diet, which is basically just eating raw, unprocessed foods, organic. It tastes great and I feel better.
Avatar n tn Oral manifestations of Crohn's disease are granulomatous lesions. It rarely involves periodntal tissue. However, Crohn's disease may be associated with food intolerance.
Avatar f tn For the past 3 years, I have been getting recurrent canker sores. They would apprear twice a month. They disappeared only when I was in my secong and third trimester of pregnancy. I did various tests and a colonoscopy to rule out Crohn's disease. I also did the ASCA and ANCA blood tests. My colonsocopy was normal. ANCA was negative but ASCA was positive. I dont have the classic symptoms of Crohn's (diarrhea). is a positive ASCA an indicator of Crohn's?
Avatar n tn Is crohn's disease hereditary? My grandson’s Dad has crohn's. My grandson is only 3 years old. He suffers with severe diarrhea frequently. Should we be concerned at 3?

In reading your full question, your partner has had a good deal of testing. Has the diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome been mentioned? There seems to be some commonality with the symptoms of that in the information you've presented. https://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar f tn I have been struggling with severe abdominal pain since January of 2016, I have made 4 emergency room trips, 3 CT scans, multiple ultrasounds, and still seem to leave undiagnosed to just DEAL with whatever it is, or survive on the narcotics I keep getting prescribed. So, I see a gyno (I had endometriosis in the past, popular opinion it had come back.) Went through a laparoscopic surgery in July 2016 to remove said endo, turns out no endo but polycystic ovarian syndrome was present.
Avatar f tn I believe you are talking about Crohn's disease. I got this from Wikipedia: Crohn's disease is an illness that causes the intestines, or other parts of the digestive tract (the parts of the body food goes through), to become swollen, and sometimes develop ulcers (holes). People with Crohn's disease often have pain in the gut, diarrhea, vomiting, and weight loss. Crohn's can also cause skin rashes, arthritis, and swollen eyes.
Avatar n tn I have been a type 1 diabetic since age 10--53 years now. Approximately 30 yrs. ago I started having a lot of bloody diarrhea, etc. It took 2 yrs.+ to clear it up and I went for approximately 20 yrs. without any symptoms. When it started up again I was diagnosed with Crohn's and have been on various treatments since then. I have been taking Asacol for years. I have also used enemas--sometimes daily and sometimes twice a day.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have been taking melatonin supplements for a couple weeks now. The past couple days I had abnormal looking stools, and I started looking around on the internet and found that melatonin can cause abnormal looking stools, and even sometimes trigger symptoms of Crohn's disease. But what I was wondering is this: when it says that it can trigger symptoms of Crohn's disease does it mean it just "mimics" Crohn's disease?
501944 tn?1224056021 I have had Crohn's disease for about 3 years and I am having problems with vomiting and I don't know what to do!! If you have any advice please help, I feel lost! I have some problems swallowing and I frequently feel like there is something in my throat ready to come up. I was vomiting almost every night for about two weeks I then felt a little better and it only occurred every couple of days. Well right now I can't hold anything down. I'm afraid to eat, but I am hungry.
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with "possible" Crohn's disease. My doctor saw inflammation of the ileum during my colonoscopy and I have chronic anal fissures which keep turning into fistulae. I had 6 treatments of Remicaid and did not get any kind of relief. I am wondering if there is anything else I can do to try to get rid of these fissures and fistulae. Please help. This is very painful for the past six years.
Avatar f tn Hi, Yesterday I went to an alternative health practicioner and resonated Crohn's disease through hook-up on the Scio machine. I have done a little bit of research on Crohn's and am having trouble believing that I have it, as I do not have diarhea, I have been having mostly constipation, and because of straining have developed an anal fissure and hemorroids.
246139 tn?1424371973 //www.webmd.com/ibd-crohns-disease/crohns-disease/default.htm Do keep in mind though that Crohn's Disease is in essence chronic immflamation of the colon. The good news is if you do have Crohn's is that there are many medications available to treat it. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/crohns-disease/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20353309 Also, simple colitis is also immflamation so that could be the culprit as well. Also, inflammatory bowel disease.
