Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with endo 6 months back and was operated on immediately. The gyne later commented i had stage 4 endo which was very sever at my age (I'm 26 this year). Subsequently, i was given Decapeptyl for 3 consecutive months, stopped for 3 months and now starting to take Yasmin..I've read about the side effects of Yasmin but there seems to be few people taking Yasmin to help with endometriosis..can anyone advise?
Avatar n tn I have just had tests return that show subclinical hypothyroidism. I have been off of Yasmin for a little bit over a year now and once I stopped taking the Yasmin my symptoms started. I am weak, tired, etc. all of the things that come along with hypothyroidism. Is it possible that the Yasmin caused my thyroid to stop producing enough hormones?
Avatar f tn I was not happy about this but was told by the gynea it was needed to stop it from happening again. now we have moved to Qatar and the pharmacy gave me Yasmin as he said it was the closest. I see that the one hormone is the same but the other ethinylestradiol in YAz is 0.02 and in Yasmin is 0.03. What does this mean and is it safe to give her?
484167 tn?1210001396 ok i need some help here...i was on yaz for about 10 months when my periods started going hay-wire...like i would get a period in the middle of my cycle and not get my period while taking the"reminder pills"...my dr. gave me yasmin since i guess the level of estrogen is a little stronger...i have been taking it for over a week...i feel pregnant. my body feels just like it did when i was pregnant and i don't remember feeling this way at all when i started the yaz almost a year ago.
Avatar f tn 2 years ago I started a birth control pill called Yasmin and was on it for 2 years. During this time I was on and off it as it gave me alot of symptoms which included being very emotional, weight gain, low libido and more. These symptoms didn't exist when I started Yasmin, not until probably 6 months in, is when I started noticing that my body wasn't liking it. So I stopped it completely last year around August.
Avatar f tn I have been on Yasmin for almost 2 months, in the second month I started spotting non stop for almost a month. I’m going on vacation July 5th and don’t want to be dealing with this then. What is my best option, should I go off the pill all together? Will that stop my spotting? (I’m not concerned about getting pregnant). Should I switch to an estrogen pill? What’s my best option to stop this spotting!
Avatar n tn It was confirmed that the reason the hair started falling out was the change in my hormone levels from stopping the pill. The endocrinologist prescribed a high estrogen pill such as yasmin which I have now been taking for 3 years. So my question now is, when I want to go off the pill so that I can get pregnant when I'm ready, is there an alternative pill to birth control that will combat the hair loss.
Avatar f tn I am wondering if its the ingredients in the yasmin that could be doing it besides the progestin and estrogen? Where you taking it continuously with the yasmin 21 or the 28 day? MARVELON21 contains the below ingredients Each white, round tablet contains desogestrel 0.15 mg and ethinyl estradiol 0.03 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, lactose, polyethylene glycol, povidone, starch, stearic acid, talc, titanium dioxide and vitamin E.
Avatar n tn I was on YAZ for about a year without any "side effects", until the last two months. I've had out of cycle bleeding (mostly spotting) before my period. The doctor switched me to Yasmin, which has a higher dose of estrogen. She said that'd stop the spotting. So far.. so good. But she said it's not uncommon w/ YAZ to have these issues. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know the "right" combination of medications for someone who needs to suppress menstrual periods and is also taking Lexapro and Lamictal for Major Depression with Bipolar 2 ? My daughter tried taking Yasmin continually (not taking the "fake" week of pills for 3 months) but experiences almost daily cramping, hot and cold flashes, nausea. The gyne was stumped as to which BC pill would be best, as Yasmin is for the PMDD, but causes the side effects for her.
Avatar f tn I don't understand how it helps. Doesn't the pill increase your estrogen? and isn't estrogen bad for endo? Someone explain this to me... I feel like since i have been on the pill my symptoms have not improved (its been about three months since i've started) and I've had like a never ending light period for a reallyyyy long time, and the pill is supposed to keep me from getting my period for every three months. so it's really not feeling much better.
Avatar n tn And I am not referring to rogaine or propecia or anything like that. A pill that mimics what the estrogen in the Yasmin does to prevent my hair from falling out?
Avatar f tn I'm not 100% sure if the pill is making you like this. You have been on it for a year with no problems and now all of sudden? I mean, you can switch your bc anytime you want it's just I'm not sure if it's that. Have you started on any other new medication recently? Maybe vitamins, or anything eles? Yasmin is what I take and it works perfect for my body. Never had a problem in the past 2 years I've been on it.
Avatar n tn Before that, I tried a tri-phasic pill (ortho tricyclen), and before that I was on Yasmin for at least 4 years. While on the Yasmin I never had any problems till about a year and a half ago the weirdness started. I think I might try Yaz. Maybe a smaller dose will help if a higher does not. I actually just moved and so have a new doctor who I haven't talked to about this yet as I've only seen her once - I will be at my next visit.
Avatar f tn I quit smoking so I could take the regular pill, but the doc I dealt with was worried I would smoke so she would only give me low estrogen pills. I have been bleeding for almost a full month, this being the third week into my first pack of Ortho Tricyclen Lo. Is this ever going to stop? All the doctors I've spoken with are certain it's hormonal because of the consistency of the spotting starting at the same time while not taking any form of birth control.
Avatar n tn The doctor will start you on a basic birth control, probably combination estrogen / progestin, bare in mind there are different concentrations which can lead to different benefits/ side effects or they might not work as indicated at first. Doctors usually recommend 3 month trial before switching.
864198 tn?1239188205 t get sick. Also try Yasmin. Yasmin is a low dose bc pill, works great for me. I had no breakthrough bleeding or side effects. Also if you have acne (i did) Yasmin is a good pill that will help clear your breakouts. Good luck on this and if you ever need any other info, just let me know and i'll try to help!
Avatar f tn Also, I have very high estrogen levels so adding more of the hormone effects me badly. I haven't had any negative effects with the hormones on this pill...and I've been on many, many, many!
Avatar n tn I am on the birth control Yasmin. I have been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I had a yeast infection about a month and a half ago, but that has come and gone. Any ideas? Please help.
Avatar n tn prolactin and cortisol slightly above normal.prolactin was 34. My estrogen is very low at 15. I live in bonaire and the doctor told me come back in one month after you stop birth control pills yasmin. My tsh was retested along with prolactin and both went down one week after first lab results but i had not changed ant medications yet. Do you know what may be the issue???? The doctors here are taking this lightly and are not treating me. I feel awful?????
698575 tn?1229608278 Hi. I was on Yasmin three years, after that I was on Zoladex and now I am on Yasmin again. I don't know for sure, but I think that Yasmin prevents ovulation and it makes harder for sperm to reach uterus (it is harder for the fertilized egg to attach to the uterus). I have read this: The primary mechanism of Yasmin is inhibition of ovulation.
Avatar f tn (on saturday the 9th) And am now on week 3 of yasmin. my period is due this week. Do i continue taking yasmin? or should i stop taking it and start again on the first day of my period?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed two weeks ago with hypothyrodism, I never knew anything about this. I was referred to an endocrinologist who explained to me part of what's the thyroid issue is about. He prescribed me Levoxyl to take for two months, in two months I have to go back to check my thyroids again and supposedly to determine if my issue is for life or not.
Avatar f tn So I hear (and I have also read) that yasmin is AWESOME for women with PCOS.. Any comments? I am about to switch from alesse to yasmin but I am nervous because there have been many birth control pills that give me uncontrollable mood swings, anxiety and depression. Alesse has been okay for me, not the best, but ok. Does anyone else experience this when they take birth control pills? I think that it is related very closely to PCOS.
