Avatar m tn m not a doctor and I have no experience with medicine, but from what I have researched online about the hormones that control your menstrual cycle, and from my experience taking birth control, you could be having symptoms of estrogen dominance as withdrawal from taking birth control. It is easy enough from the North American diet for the body to produce more estrogen than it does progesterone. Both of these hormones need to be in your body for you to get your period.
7677085 tn?1395374075 I didn't bleed at all on the shot @MrsAliciaWeat, but I did gain about sixty pounds the six months I was on it. @kelleyrenee, does the patch have estrogen? I'm interested but I can't use an estrogen based birth control while nursing. When women say their birth control dried them up it's typically due to the estrogen, so my midwife doesn't ever offer estrogen options to her patients that breastfeed.
Avatar f tn But I have visual migraines that cause me to. E on a low estrogen kind of birth control, so it was that, pill, arm implant, or iud. I did the pill for a while, but I'm not responsible enough to take it daily at the same time.
Avatar n tn suggested that she discontinue her birth control pill which contains 35 mcg. estrogen. The head aches occur during her period and the pill days, too. Is there a birth control pill that does not cause migrains? She was on the 25 mcg "low" estrogen pill, but she had an ovarian cyst.
Avatar f tn Hey ladies, i've been putting thought into what Birth Control method I want to use after baby gets here. Ive heard a lot of different suggestions, but i'd like to read some personel experiences? Much thanks.
Avatar f tn I have some info on my profile about breastfeeding as a form of birth control. It's in my 'journals'. My midwife told me that estrogen free birth control is the safest while nursing. Estrogen can dry up your milk and if it doesn't, might cause issues with baby. Estrogen free versions include the paragaurd iud, the depo shot, and the 'mini pill' (progesterone only daily pill). I'd definitely decide what you want to do before baby comes!
Avatar f tn Answers please experienced moms...WHICH BIRTH CONTROL WOULD YOU ALL CONSIDER THE MOST BEST AFTER YOU DELIVER YOU BABY AND MOST ACCURATE??? This my first baby and this will be my first time using birth control unsure of which one to use... PLEASE HELP THANKS LADIES!!!!

938326 tn?1300878804 ) I will have 4 children altogether when this one is born, 13, 12, 1, and newest. I want to go on some kind of birth control that wont have long lasting effects if I decide again to have another. I am unable to take the pill. I have read some negative things on the shots and on the rings. I had an IUD in for 6 years in between my oldest children, but wanted to avoid that route again. Any suggestions? I just want to be prepared, and avoid another pregnancy so soon.
Avatar f tn she said the reason why she put me on birth control instead of regular estrogen is because i havent had a period in a year and she wants the withdrawal bleed. she said that with estrogen I will eventually have a withdrawal bleed but it will not induce it. She said if she were to put me on estrogen I would have to take progesterone simultaneously. So I guess i will finish the last patch that i am wearing i take it off on Monday and hopefully i will have the withdrawal bleed.

Avatar f tn Anyway I have been doing alot of research and stumbled across a condition called Estrogen Dominance which can be caused by the Birth Control Pill and how Estrogen Dominance can affect the thyroid. http://outsmartdisease.com/how-estrogen-dominance-can-ruin-your-thyroid-health/ I was wondering what peoples thoughts are on this? and if anyone has gone through the same thing.
Avatar f tn Estrogen causes some of the glands in the breast tissue to swell .Birth control patch causes consistent release of estrogen which causes elevated estrogen levels throughout the body making the breasts become larger. If you are too concerned it will be best to discuss it with your gynecologist. I hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn What is the best birth control after i have my baby this will be my 3rd and i dont want to get my tubes tide
Avatar f tn Is it true that birth control puts you at risk for cancer and can you be having a miscarriage not knowing thinking its a period?
Avatar f tn s body is different, however my two sister in laws have the paraguard and it works amazingly for them they each have had it ok for almost 2 years. No birth control seems to be right for me so I have decides no both control here.
Avatar f tn I have heard about the patch and the IUD and wanted to know all about them or any other really effective birth control. I don't want anything that will increase my acne, weight, or flow. I have bad acne and flow as it is.
Avatar n tn I am about to visit the gyno for the first time to start routine visits as well as get some sort of contraception/birth control. I was wondering as someone who has never taken any or had any, what would be the best kind to try first as a beginner? Thank you!
Avatar n tn I have been taking birth control (Alysena) for just under one year now. However, there have been some months or weeks where I decided to take a short break from them as I had no use for them. Recently, after I had finished one pack, I waited a few days and began to have the withdrawal bleed/”mock” period (this is normal for me, usually lasts about 4 days).
6883059 tn?1395509077 What type of birth control do you ladies plan to take after giving birth & why ? . I'm just trying to decide which one to take.
Avatar n tn Ever since I starting taking birth control, my body was never the same. I'm having problems making enough urine everyday and I have daily diarrhea. I seem to retain alot of the water I drink, and I'm straining when I urinate and have bowel movements (even when the stool is soft). It seems like I get more watery stools when I drink a moderate amount of any sort of fluids. Exercise of any kind makes these symptoms worse.
1123945 tn?1259615216 I then went in on the 3rd day and was told my estrogen was too high and therefore they put me on the birthe control pill for this month and was advised to call when I get my next period. I don't understand why I was put on the pill, does anyone know? The treatment they will be administering is IUI but I am just not sure why I was put on the pill (which I stopped taking 5 years ago). I appreciate any and all info you can provide!
Avatar f tn part of the pill, but my periods are really heavy and my cramps are awful!! Does a birth control pill stop the bleeding completely, or just extend the amount of times between periods? Also, I have read online that there are estrogen or progestin-based pills...is there one that will work better mainly for the purpose of decreasing my flow or stopping my period all together?
